00:00There's definitely a lot of sacrifices and juggling when it comes to having a baby abroad.
00:03What is it like having a baby in Australia away from home?
00:06When I do the Q&A box, it's the most popular question that comes up.
00:10Hi, if you're new to my page, I share a lot of travel tips in Australia
00:13and now I'm a new mum who came out here on a work and holiday visa a few years ago
00:18and raising our baby boy.
00:19If you want to have an idea of the cost of baby items here in O'Chemist,
00:23this was a recent restock of things we needed,
00:25so it came to just under 150 bucks for some regular items.
00:29The truth is, we don't really know any different doing it over here on our own.
00:33It's just been us parenting the only way that we know how, with no help.
00:37It's not a walk in the park like many others would say,
00:40but we are absolutely loving this new chapter of our Aussie journey.
00:43We're always out and about exploring.
00:45I fill in my mat leave weeks with swimming lessons,
00:47baby sensory classes, library rhyme time at Jimborough
00:51and we live near the beach, so we spend a lot of time there.
00:54We go on road trips and holidays whenever we can.
00:56I'm in two mums groups, so my weeks are really busy and we just adore the lifestyle here.
01:01We know raising a baby away from family is just not for everybody,
01:04but we love Australia so much and we want Cove to grow up with this lifestyle
01:08and still have its Irish and English roots back home.
01:12You'll never be home again.
01:15Not completely.
01:17Part of your heart will always be elsewhere.
01:20This is the price you pay for finding happiness in more than one place.
