Having arrived in Italy in the second half of the sixties to work in cinema and as a model, in December 1968 she appeared in a photo shoot by Fabrizio Zampa for the glossy magazine Playmen; she was noticed by the producer Carlo Maietto, who made her act in the film Le salamandre (1969), in which Cunningham acted without being paid. The great popularity obtained in Italy with the success of Il dio serpente allowed Cunningham to devote herself to the activity of presenter, hosting the Cantagiro 1971 with Daniele Piombi and Nuccio Costa, and as a singer, recording among others a cover of the success of Jula de Palma Tua. Having retired to private life during the eighties, she disappeared without a trace until her death in a clinic in Borbona in December 2020, at the age of 74; the news was made public only a few months after her death.
