00:00So when you make such drastic changes to your bullpen and then things go well, or you make
00:10any trade deadline deal and you see the momentum continue to go once you bring these new guys
00:14in, what kind of feeling does that create around the team?
00:19It's awesome.
00:20I mean, first of all, the fact that the team goes out and makes moves always energizes
00:23the team, no matter what.
00:26But to your point, it doesn't always work out right.
00:28Right.
00:30They might not do as well.
00:31Maybe they're nervous.
00:32Maybe they're trying to impress.
00:33But when you have early success with the new guys, I think they're even going to be better
00:38once they get settled in.
00:39A guy like Scott and Adam, I think, still has to find their footing here with the Padres.
00:44But it just shows the players that the organization is behind them 100%.
00:50And that is important, because that's not always the case.
00:54I guess this is part of that question, too.
00:58When you are traded to a place, do you feel pressure?
01:01Because I know it's human nature when someone trades for you that you feel like you need
01:04to step your game up.
01:06But when you get traded into a situation like this, where everything is moving forward,
01:11do you feel a little bit of extra pressure when you get to the new place to be successful?
01:14Absolutely.
01:15Absolutely.
01:16Yeah.
01:17Because you know that this team went out and spent a bunch of capital to get you, right?
01:21A lot of prospects or whatever it was.
01:25You want to show up for that team.
01:27You feel good that they sought you out, got you.
01:31And the other part of it is, hey, I want to show them what I can do, and I want to make
01:36it worth their while to get me.
01:38And I think sometimes players take that too far.
01:41But my guess is with this group, and since we have some pretty good arms with Pamelas-Flores
01:47and those guys, I think it'll be pretty smooth for them.
01:52Pitching two is a little bit different than, say, a hitter coming over and pressing,
01:56I've got to get a hit, I've got to get a home run.
01:58Pitchers, they do what they do.
02:00And generally, that works out probably as good as any other position.
