Family suing for $50 million over Titan implosion death

The Titan submersible imploded last June, and a French explorer’s family has filed a more than $50 million lawsuit against OceanGate.

00:11The lawsuit accuses Oceangate of gross negligence,
00:14and says the submersible dropped weight about 90 minutes into its dive,
00:18indicating the team had aborted or attempted to abort the dive.
00:22But they never resurfaced.
00:23One attorney representing the family says they want to know how those involved could allow this to happen.
00:29The lawsuit blames the implosion on the persistent carelessness,
00:32recklessness, and negligence of Oceangate, its CEO who died in the implosion, and others.
00:38Oceangate has not commented on the lawsuit,
00:40but must respond to the complaint soon, according to court papers.
