00:00It's wonderful to see you both. Congratulations on the film.
00:03My hair is like yours, but it's smashed back today, but I love it.
00:06I can't figure out how to do that.
00:07You figured it out. You're succeeding very hard right now.
00:10Yes, I love your hair. So cute.
00:12I love your bangs.
00:13Thank you. I need to leave.
00:15This is too much. Yeah, go away.
00:17Thank you. You both look fabulous.
00:19So just to jump right in.
00:22I wanted to ask you, Joey, your character Zara
00:24claims that she kind of knows everything about Chris.
00:27She thinks she's, you know, really gotten to know him
00:29and there's nothing else to discover.
00:30So while you were working with Zac Efron,
00:33was there anything that surprised you?
00:35Tons. I mean, you know, when you work with someone like Zac,
00:38I've been a fan of Zac since I was a young girl
00:42and I was obsessed with him, like truly obsessed.
00:46And when you have this conceptual idea of someone for so long,
00:49meeting them seems like this impossible thing that could never happen.
00:52And so getting to meet Zac and get to know him
00:57was so surprising in itself because he was just so wonderful
01:01and so funny and so, you know,
01:04he's just like a funny little weirdo dorky guy at heart.
01:08And I love that about him.
01:10I just think he's got he's really caring.
01:13He's really sweet.
01:13There's been so many times where he like randomly like do something for me
01:18and think of me in a way that I would have never expected.
01:20I was like that was so thoughtful and he was like, yeah, whatever.
01:23And I just think he's like a he's just like a funny guy.
01:25He's just so sweet.
01:26He really is amazing.
01:28I called him the improv king today and I don't think he liked that.
01:31No, no, no.
01:31I think he probably loved it.
01:32He loved it.
01:34He's humble.
01:35He's humble.
01:35He was like, no, that's not me.
01:37Yeah, he doesn't know how to take a compliment,
01:40but he is the improv king.
01:41He is so funny in this movie.
01:43He's just hilarious in general.
01:46I was like, who is this man?
01:47Totally not scripted.
01:48Amazing.
01:48Which part?
01:49Just when he's singing Cher.
01:50Shut up.
01:51Yeah, there's a lot of moments that are they went off script.
01:54The script is delicious.
01:54Thank you, Carrie Solomon.
01:55But these two the these four Kathy Bates,
01:58everybody so much was not in this script that they made.
02:01So yummy and nutritional.
02:03Yeah, I love that.
02:03Like the carrots that you're just munching on in the back.
02:05Oh my God.
02:06You saw my carrot.
02:07Yes, I whittled it down to a baby carrot throughout the course of the whole day.
02:11But I had like six large carrots that day.
02:13It's a like Easter egg.
02:14Yeah, you did because we're running into the event center and I grab a carrot and Richard LaGravenese,
02:19our director was so into it.
02:21Is it in the movie?
02:22Not really.
02:22He was here.
02:23It's in there.
02:25I saw it.
02:25It's in there, you saw it.
02:26Yeah, I noticed.
02:27I mean, I didn't know if it was like for the reindeer that were there.
02:29I was like, where is she getting this carrot from?
02:31It was from the kitchen.
02:32They're prepping for the event and I said, check the carrot.
02:34I loved it.
02:35I loved it.
02:35And I can tell you both had a lot of fun.
02:37I wanted to ask just you know, what was it like bonding on set?
02:39But I mean clearly it was just a blast.
02:41Well, that was easy.
02:42We had like a previous panel that we did together way back when Teen Vogue.
02:482016 or something?
02:49No, I think it was 2018.
02:51Oh really?
02:52Okay.
02:53And then our mutual friend Sabrina brought us together and then I said this before,
02:57but my dog peed on her carpet and that's a bonding moment.
03:00And then to be on set with her.
03:01I know, it was lovely.
03:01I was honored.
03:02She was embarrassed and I was like, for what?
03:05I have dogs.
03:06I have dogs and they defecate wherever the hell they want.
03:11They chose that spot and that meant something.
03:13Phoebe chose that spot and I was like, that's nice.
03:15You'll forever remember her there.
03:16That's nice.
03:17And then you did home reno and removed it entirely, right?
03:19Yes, I did.
03:19Okay, nice.
03:21But like first day on set, we had to take photos together.
03:24Do you remember that?
03:24Yeah, we had to take like bestie photos.
03:26You took your shirt and put it over me.
03:28Yeah, we like we're sharing a shirt, which that's a forgotten.
03:31Sharing like a womb.
03:31It's really funny.
03:32And I was like, this is going to be a breeze.
03:34I know.
03:34It's always funny to me when you are playing best friends with someone and the first day,
03:39which has happened to me before, where they like make you take a best friends photo shoot.
03:43And I understand why they do it because they need photos in the movie.
03:46Yeah.
03:47And like you but like it is I mean, we were so great already, which was nice.
03:52But like that's a crazy thing to do with people that don't know each other.
03:56We were lucky to know each other.
03:57Thank God.
03:58Yeah.
03:58And Joel Courtney, our mutual friend too.
04:00And Joel's our mutual friend.
04:02We got a lot of mutuals.
04:04It sounds like it's a fun, a fun bunch of people.
04:07Well, thank you so much.
04:08That's all the time I have.
04:09Thank you so much to talk to you.
