00:00Well, this is Walthamstow in northeast London, and this was the site of one of the biggest
00:05anti-racism demonstrations. Thousands of people coming out in force to show solidarity with
00:11their local community and to show support for refugees. This after this particular area
00:17was targeted by far-right gangs in an effort to cause more disruption and more violence.
00:22Now, that counter-demonstration meant that that far-right disruption never really materialized,
00:27and people here are still understandably pretty wary. But after talking to residents
00:31here today, they said after the tension of the last few days, today was very much a case
00:36of business as usual.
00:37I'm not the only business. I think we're all feeling the pinch because of the cost of living
00:41and other issues. But matters like this, which, you know, we were hoping that would never
00:46surface in 2024, unfortunately can affect businesses as well as lives. And we just don't
00:52want that. We just want to live in harmony, peace and respect each other.
