00:19When we say accent, most people think about the British or the American accent.
00:24However, English is the international language.
00:27That means people from all around the world speak it with their own unique accents.

03:12We plan to visit several countries next year, including Japan and Australia.
03:17We plan to visit several countries next year, including Japan and Australia.
03:21We plan to visit several countries next year, including Japan and Australia.
03:26We plan to visit several countries next year, including Japan and Australia.
03:30So in this next part, I have three general questions to ask.
03:33Feel free to answer them however you want. What did you do yesterday?
03:37Yesterday? Oh, yesterday was actually quite fun.
03:39So like me and two boys at the gym,
03:42we actually decided to sort of dehydrated to get some really nice gym photo altogether.
03:47So I got my camera and tripod like altogether setting at the gym.
03:51So we took some really fun video and picture altogether.
03:54I had a like nice cheeseburger meal.
03:57Oh, awesome. Awesome. Can we have those pictures so I can put it on the video?
04:01Oh, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah.
04:04Yesterday, I cleaned my new apartment and I went to have dinner with friends in Chelsea.
04:16It was very nice. And yeah, that's it.
04:20So my day, I had a few submissions for today.
04:23So I was trying to wind up yesterday, wind them up yesterday before I could see you guys today.
04:30What submission? I had a family business elective and I had a few submissions in that in that respect.
04:37Yesterday, I was recovering from a cold.
04:40So I stayed at home. But then in the evening,
04:44my friend came around for supper and we had supper with my friend and my partner.
04:50Are you feeling better now? Yeah, yeah, much better.
04:53Great to know. I was most at home doing some coursework.
04:57I have for university and then I met up with some friends at a friend's place near Gunnersbury.
05:03I was working with well with my team on consulting project.
05:08And then I stayed home and then just cleaned my flat and then did nothing else.
05:13Yeah. How's the project going? It's it was terrible last week.
05:19But then this week we kind of caught up and like now we're like on track.
05:24Yesterday, I worked on a group project and that's about it.
05:32Well, I grabbed a drink at night and then I went to sleep.
05:35So pretty normal day, I guess. Yesterday, I went to some friends.
05:41We had a good time on a rooftop and the weather was perfect.
05:46What did you have for lunch, dinner? For lunch,
05:51I had a pizza and some chips.
05:55Did you work out yesterday? Sadly, no, I skipped.
06:00Was it leg day? No, it was shoulders.
06:04Shoulders. So you skipped shoulders. Okay.
06:08What do you do in your free time? What are your hobbies?
06:11My hobby, a bit straightforward, just like working out, meal prep.
06:16Other than that, just taking a walk in the park and watch a movie.
06:22That's basically it. Yeah. How often do you work out?
06:27So like for me, it's like a push, pull and leg day and took a day off.
06:32Normally, that day would be the cook day.
06:34So I prepare the food for the next three days and then push pull leg again and cook day.
06:39So it's like a circle. So like three days in a week.
06:44Three days and a day off, three days a day off.
06:46Okay, three days, one day off, three days. Yes.
06:49Okay, that's intense. So for how long have you been working out?
06:53At least five years. Yeah, been a long time.
06:56In my free time, usually I play piano or I read or I call friends.
07:03I am a lot into sports and particularly cricket.
07:07So that is one thing that I really enjoy.
07:09I'm a big time shopper as well.
07:12So that is something I keep surfing the net, but that's pretty much it.
07:15And I'm very much I like to keep myself updated.
07:18So I'm mostly geopolitics. So reading out news.
07:23That's that's a big chunk of what I do the entire day. You said cricket.
07:27Do you play cricket? Yeah, I play cricket. I have many hobbies.
07:32I like crochet quite a lot recently.
07:35I've been getting into it and cooking as well.
07:38But crochet is kind of top one for me right now.
07:42Have you made anything? I'm in the process of making like a snuggly for my friend's baby.
07:51And I'm quite excited to give it to them. In my free time,
07:54I tend to watch some movies, just meet up with friends or practice some sports.
07:58And recently I tried to pick up tennis again.
08:01Cool. How often do you play tennis? Before when I was younger,
08:05I used to go two to three times a week,
08:08but now we don't have that much time. So I tend to go once or twice a week.
08:13I normally just, you know, enjoy like going to the park
08:16and then restaurant hopping sometimes and then just,
08:20you know, exploring new places within London or abroad and stuff like that.
08:27Depends on the season I'd say. And during summer I like to go motorcycling.
08:32I like to spend time moving, being active,
08:36spend time outside outdoors. But I also enjoy reading.
08:43I enjoy playing the bass. What else do I do? I enjoy playing tennis.
08:50Forget about that. Well, I guess I have many different interests,
08:57but that's the main one. So reading, motorcycling and well, sports and music.
09:03I love to do ice skating and I love to go to the gym a lot.
09:09And I love cooking. But ice skating I assume only in winter.
09:13No, it's all the year. Can you do ice skating now?
09:17Yes, of course. There are ice rinks everywhere. Do you do that frequently?
09:23Yes, it's like my sport. What are your plans for the weekend?
09:29For the weekend, one of my friends from the gym,
09:34he's hosting a party on a Saturday.
09:37And we're thinking of doing yoga on Sunday with a hangover.
09:42So it probably will be fun. So for this weekend,
09:46I think I'm going to do my nails for sure.
09:49I'm also going to see some friends, have brunch, maybe shop.
09:55I'm going to do some shopping and I have to do my suitcase also.
10:01Okay, what do you mean your suitcase? Because I'm going to leave next week.
10:05So I have to do my suitcase, put all my stuff in it.
10:08Have you decided what color for your nails? I think I'm going to do red
10:11because I love red. I'm always doing this color.
10:15I would love to catch up with my friends before a few of them are leaving.
10:19So that's pretty much the plan. But apart from that,
10:22I'm looking to probably take a trip around London somewhere.
10:26I have listed down St. Albans as the next place to be at.
10:31So yes, that's pretty much in the pipeline.
10:34So tonight I'm going to Oxford to my friend's birthday party
10:40and we're staying the night there and then we're coming back tomorrow
10:44and tomorrow I'm going to a party in the evening
10:47and on Saturday I'm going to a party during the day.
10:50So it's a very, very busy weekend actually for me.
10:55So I might play tennis, I don't know, or just work out.
11:00Then on Saturday night, I'll meet some friends at Pear Tree Cafe
11:06and apart from this, I have to finish the group project I mentioned.
11:12I'll probably clean my flat, do my laundry, cook something.
11:16So let's see, enjoy the weather, I hope.
11:19This weekend, we'll hang out with friends from university to meet for the last time.
11:26I'm leaving, so I'm going back to school.
11:28When are you leaving?
11:29On Tuesday.
11:30For good?
11:32Now in this last part, I have one tongue twister for you.
11:35You have to say it three times as fast as you can.
11:38Here it is.
11:39She sells seashells by the seashore.
11:42Okay.
11:43She sells seashells by the seashore.
11:50Again again again.
11:51She sells seashells by the seashore.
11:54Awesome. Excellent.
11:56A little bit of—
11:57Yeah.
11:58She sells—
12:02I got it.
12:03She sells seashells by the seashore.
12:08Three times?
12:09She sells the seashells by the seashore.
12:16One more time.
12:17She sells seashells by the seashore.
12:23Excellent, very good.
12:25She sells seashells by the seashore.
12:33One more time.
12:33She sells seashells by the seashore.
12:36Ah, when you say it slowly it works.
12:37Go fast, go fast.
12:38Seashells, seashells by the seashore.
12:42She sells seashells by the seashore.
12:45She sells seashells by the seashore.
12:48She sells seashells by the seashore.
12:50Awesome, thanks.
12:50She sells seashells by the seashore.
12:53She sells seashells by the seashore.
12:55She sells seashells by the seashore.
12:58Three sh in the last one.
12:59Yeah.
13:00She sells seashells by the seashore.
13:03She sells seashells by the seashore.
13:05She sells seashells by the seashore.
13:07Oh, easy.
13:08Okay.
13:08She sells, it's so hard.
13:10Even the first try I'm like,
13:13she sells seashells by the seashore.
13:15She sells seashells by the seashore.
13:18She sells seashells by the seashore.
13:20Excellent.
13:21Seashells by the seashore.
13:24Okay, I need to get this one time first.
13:28She sells seashells by the seashore.
13:31She sells seashells by the seashore.
13:33She sells seashells by the seashore.
13:36I almost got it.
13:38She sells seashells by the seashore.
13:39She sells seashells by the seashore.
13:42She sells seashells by the seashore.
13:44Excellent. Great, great, great.
13:45First, a big thank you to all our lovely guests
13:48for showing us the diverse ways
13:50in which English is spoken all around the world.
13:53I'm pretty sure they'll be reading the comments
13:55under this video, so feel free to show them some love.
13:58To conclude, the question,
14:00which accent is better,
14:02is the wrong question to ask.
14:04It's like saying which food is better
14:06or what color is the best.
14:08There is no single answer.
14:09Of course, the two standard accents
14:12remain the British accent and the American accent.
14:14However, if you have a different one,
14:17don't try to hide it or get rid of it,
14:19or even worse, fake a British or an American accent.
14:22Keep the diversity.
14:24This diversity is beautiful.
14:26Even when you take an international test
14:28like the IELTS or TOEFL,
14:29you are not graded on your accent.
14:32You're graded on your pronunciation.
14:34If your pronunciation is not correct, you have a problem.
14:37You must speak English clearly
14:40so that people can understand you.
14:42Now, if you have an accent, that's okay,
14:44but if your pronunciation is not clear enough,
14:47you may have a problem communicating effectively.
14:50And that's it.
14:51I hope you've enjoyed this lesson.
14:52Don't forget to give this video a thumbs up,
14:54and if you're new to my channel, click subscribe.
14:56See you.
