00:00Let's start here, George, with a team in the North that has a rabid fan base, there's no
00:08doubt about it, a global fan base even nowadays. It's the Pittsburgh Steelers and taking a
00:13look at the Steelers and what they possibly could do here to win the AFC North. You'll
00:19see right now the Ravens at plus 145, the Bengals at plus 165, the Browns at plus 450,
00:24which I think is ridiculous. That's a team I'm running away from. More on that later.
00:30And the Steelers at plus 750. That's the way this division is shaping up on the Vegas side.
00:35But I would always say, George, you know, you never underestimate the Steelers too badly.
00:40George Pickens, I think, had that coming out party last year. Again, suspect quarterback
00:44play has been a part of the last two seasons for the Pittsburgh Steelers. And when it comes
00:48to quarterbacks and suspects, well, we have two remaining suspects who could be the starter
00:52in week one. Maybe it's Russell Wilson, the veteran they brought in on the one-year deal.
00:57Or maybe it's Justin Fields, just a tad younger, with a bit more upside at this stage in 2024.
01:03George, I know Justin Fields, we touched on just briefly at the top of the show. Played
01:09yesterday in the preseason. Got a lot of good buzz in the preseason from the players, from
01:13the coaches. Things look great. But again, that's football in shorts. We don't take that
01:16too seriously. A couple of fumbles yesterday. Luckily, none were given to the other team.
01:20But still, you don't like the turnovers. That's not something that's going to interior
01:24to your coaching staff. But this is a very simple mathematic equation. You're a math
01:29guy. At least you were in a previous segment. Now we're one. I'm looking ahead. I'm looking
01:34at the number of Russell Wilson's age, the number of Justin Fields age, where the Steelers
01:40are currently in expectations. And I just don't get why we'd be running out Russell
01:45Wilson here to even start the season. I understand bringing in Russell Wilson because you don't
01:50want to put any pressure on Justin Fields, maybe. And maybe you do want to give Russell
01:54Wilson a few starts in September. But come on, George. I mean, if we're the Steelers
01:59here, are we really looking forward or are we looking to week one? That's the big question.
02:03Where do you think Mike Tomlin is looking to with this quarterback situation?
02:08I think they're going to start Russell Wilson. I don't think they should. I think it should
02:12be Justin Fields. The problem is, he already said it's Russell Wilson's job to lose, right?
02:17I know Russell Wilson had the injury, now hasn't participated in the camp for a bit.
02:20So that's giving Fields a leg up. And he did start last night. And really, he was actually
02:25pretty good, except for those fumbles, right? And that's a huge thing. You can't turn the
02:30ball over. And you heard Tomlin in the postgame conference. He was good, except for the fumbles.
02:36He pointed that out too. It's just such a bugaboo for NFL coaches here. He's already
02:40behind the eight ball as far as starting against Wilson, and you fumble the ball. He was six
02:44and seven, right? He completed his passes here, took a couple of sacks too. And that's
02:47what he does as well, is get rid of the ball sometimes. And his dropbacks aren't, they're
02:52not picture perfect. So I think it's going to be Russell Wilson. I don't think it should
02:55be, but I think it is. The other negative is, you know what, Justin Fields says he's
03:00not your prototypical NFL quarterback. You need the offense to be designed for what he
03:04does. And it's not designed that. It's designed for a prototypical quarterback like Russell
03:09Wilson. So that's another issue here. You know, so yeah, I think it's going to be Russell
03:13Wilson to start. They're both going to play this season. All right. We're going to see
03:16both of them. I have very little doubt in my mind here. And bottom line is this. I want
03:20nothing to do with either one of them. All right. A super flex league, it's a different
03:23conversation, but most leagues are one quarterback leagues. No, I'm not drafting either one.
03:29Not even as a backup, if you believe in doing that, Joe, because by the time I need a backup,
03:33I don't know which one's the starter. No, but in a super flex league, I am drafting
03:38Justin Fields because it's just a couple of years ago. He was QB seven, you know,
03:42thousand yards rushing. So it might not look pretty on the time, but we're talking about
03:46fantasy points and Justin Fields is going to get your fantasy points. I don't care how it looks.
03:49I want the points. And George is probably right. We probably going to see Russell Wilson to start,
03:54but I don't think it's going to take very long after seeing Russell Wilson play football,
03:57but we're going to see somebody else in the fan base wants to see what the future looks like.
04:00The future is now. So I mentioned George Pickens. We talked about the quarterbacks,
04:04a low-end tight end that I do have some hope for in this Arthur Smith offense. They typically do
04:11like to throw the ball in the tight ends there. So Pat Fryer-Muth could be in a good situation
04:14there. The rest of this offense, a little suspect in terms of fantasy investment, Najee Harris,
04:19Jalen Warren, two guys going about the same ADP. Kurtz, do you have a take on this? Are you
04:25Najee Harris side, are you Jalen Warren side or are you out because it's a weird duo situation?
04:30Well, I'd like to say I'm out because it is a weird duo situation, but there aren't enough
04:34running backs to go around. There just aren't. All right. So you're going to have to either get
04:38both or, you know, choose and good luck. And you asked me which one I'd rather have. I mean,
04:42once he gets a coin toss here, give me Harris, but next week or tomorrow, hell in an hour,
04:46I might tell you I want Warren. You know, it's just, it's that kind of situation there.
04:49It's whichever, it's going to be whichever guy is playing the best or whichever guy has Tomlin's
04:53trust that week. And on the better pick up that third down blitz, because you're getting your
04:56quarterback killed, that's going to get you on the bench as well and let the other guy play.
