00:00So hello everyone, welcome back to the channel where for click
00:03and today we are going to talk about lighting
00:06First of all, let me tell you that our lighting is covered inside the texture
00:11and here the whole series of texture is going on
00:14which I have started from episode no. 47
00:17In texture, I have first picked up the shaders
00:20and in these shaders, the BSDF that you can see here
00:25this is the most important in blender
00:27and it is used to make big things
00:30like if you want to make water, fire, glass or mirror
00:36so in all these, it is used as a texture
00:40Now what are these BSDF and how are they used?
00:44For this, you can watch episode no. 49
00:46You will get the link in the description
00:48For now, we have covered Anisotropic BSDF and Diffuse BSDF
00:53and before coming to Glass BSDF, we need Light
00:58Now how is Light connected with Glass?
01:00Before knowing this, let's understand about Light in detail
01:05In Blender, we use Lighting in three places
01:10First is our Environment Light
01:13Whenever we do any animation or VFX
01:16then our environment will be of what type?
01:19This is decided by our Environment Light
01:22So to understand Environment Light, I have taken a city
01:26In this city, you can see that the light is coming in a very good way
01:30The reason for this is that it is in the Shading option
01:34and here we get different types of modes in which we work
01:38First is Wireframe mode, in which it will be visible in the wireframe
01:42Second is Modeling mode, in which we do modeling
01:45and by default, our texture is here
01:47Here we cannot see color etc.
01:50Third is Lighting mode, in which our lighting is by default
01:55and the color is reflected here
01:58Now here you can see that the lighting is visible in a very good way
02:01but as soon as I go to the last option in the last globe
02:07to render, if I go to this, it will be dark
02:11and this is our final output
02:13Whatever we see in this, the same thing is going to come out in the video
02:19Our first color mode, which we call Shading Viewport
02:24In this, we get the light and the background by default
02:30If you want to see the background here, then click on it
02:34and if you fill the word opacity here
02:38then the background environment will also come
02:41and if you remove the blurriness
02:44So here you can see that our HDRI image will come here
02:49But the biggest problem here is that
02:52the light that is coming here and whatever environment is visible behind it
02:57we cannot use it in rendering
02:59As soon as I go to rendering, it will be visible here in the same way
03:04So in today's video, we will understand
03:06how we can generate the light that is coming in this
03:11Because the biggest problem for beginners is that it comes here for lighting
03:16Apart from this, this lighting affects a lot of things
03:20and many times you must have seen that there are a lot of such things
03:24When we download them here, we see them very well
03:28But as soon as we take it to the render view
03:31The shine of them ends here
03:33and the most important thing is glass
03:35Here you can see how good my glass is looking here
03:39But as soon as it comes in this mode, the glass will end here
03:43First of all, let me tell you that the shine you are seeing in it
03:46is actually the reflection of the environment behind it
03:50I can see it here
03:52If you want to see the background environment in it
03:54then I have already told you
03:56Zero the blur here and increase the opacity
03:58So I will see the background environment here
04:01And the reflection here is the reflection of my reflection
04:04It is visible in the glass as lighting
04:07Apart from this car, if I take a sphere here
04:12I will scale it and increase it a little
04:14And I will set it aside a little
04:17So I will smoothen the shade from here
04:19And by generating a material in it
04:21I will make the transmission of it full
04:25And I will finish the roughness of it here
04:27So you will see that I will get a glass-like look in it
04:32So whenever you make a glass in it
04:34If you make a mirror in it
04:36Or if you make anything in it
04:38So it reflects its environment here
04:41Because of which we see it here
04:43If I see it here in this option
04:46So it is completely dark here
04:48Because of this, my globe is visible here in a different type
04:51And if I use a temporary light here
04:55Suppose if I use area light here
04:58And I increase its strength to 1000
05:01Then it will not be able to give the look to this globe
05:06Which is in the reality of the glass
05:09So in this way, the environment light
05:11Finishes a lot of things of our object here
05:15Now the biggest problem here is
05:18This environment behind us
05:20And this by default light
05:22We cannot use it for rendering here
05:25It is only given to us to work here
05:28If you want to bring clarity in your video
05:31And you want to do your animation or VFX well
05:34So first of all, you should know how to create this light here
05:38Apart from this, there are a lot of things
05:40Like how you want to make a gradient in the background
05:43How if you want to give a color
05:46We will understand all this in the video
05:49So let's go to the second type of lights
05:52Here you saw how our environment light
05:55It falls from the top here
05:57But if we want to shoot any scene indoors
06:01Or want to do it inside a room
06:03Or want to do it here in the dark
06:06At this place
06:07Where my environment light stops working
06:11So for that, I have been given four different types of lights here
06:15Which we call local lights
06:18These four have given us different types of local lights
06:21Which we use
06:23The first is our sunlight
06:25When you want to show the light like a sun in the whole scene
06:29Then we use sunlight here
06:32The second is our point light
06:35If you want to use the light in some way
06:38Like lighting a bulb in a room
06:41Or if you want to create light in a small area
06:44Then we use point light here
06:47If you want to generate different types of colorful small lights
06:50Then point light helps you a lot in that
06:53The third is our spot light
06:56If you want to use this type of light
06:59Which only targets our one object
07:02And wherever our object will go
07:05It can focus and show it
07:07We call this spot light
07:10And in the whole area
07:12Or if you want to use a light for modeling
07:15For a particular object in different areas
07:18Then we use area light here
07:21If you are shooting in an indoor area
07:24Then area light is very helpful for you
07:27So these four types of lights work here
07:31And we call them local lights
07:34Now let's move to our third type of light
07:37Which we call object lights
07:40If you want to use any object like a light
07:44Or if you want to bring light like a shining in any object
07:47Then we call it object light
07:50Object light is used like a node here
07:53And in this we are covering a series of shaders
07:56In this, the shader called emission
07:59This is our node
08:02It creates that light
08:05How to use it?
08:08We will understand all this in detail
08:11For now, today's light is our environment light
08:14So let's first see
08:17How do we create our environment light
08:20For this, I will directly use this city
08:23And if you ever want to work for a node
08:26Then you can go directly to the top side
08:29You will get the option of shading
08:32You can go to the node option
08:35But I will make my own panel here
08:38And I will work according to my own
08:41So as soon as I click on the layout
08:44You can use any of these options
08:47And if you want that option again
08:50Then you can click on the plus sign
08:53And you can create that option again
08:56So the way it will be by default
08:59You can create it again and make another
09:02If you click right, you can delete any option
09:05For now, I come to my layout
09:08And I have made two panels here
09:11I will select this color mode
09:14And I will see colorful things here
09:17I will manage this side
09:20And I will use this option of shader editor
09:23So this option of shading
09:26In which we use nodes
09:29You can make it from shader editor
09:32Here you will get three options
09:35Object, word and line style
09:38When you want to work with objects
09:41Then we work in object
09:44When you want to color the background
09:47Which you can see gray here
09:50Or you want to give light
09:53Then we use word here
09:56So I will select word here
09:59Because we are going to create environment light
10:02I have already told you that the light here
10:05And if you see here
10:08If you increase the opacity
10:11And decrease the blur
10:14Then you will get the HDRI image
10:17Now we will create this light
10:20In our render view
10:23So let's go ahead
10:26First of all, I will tell you
10:29Whenever we use color or lighting
10:33That option you will get here
10:36In word
10:39Here you can see some options
10:42In which background, color and strength are given
10:45With strength you can increase the brightness
10:48Its whiteness and grayness
10:51You can increase its brightness
10:54If I increase it to 7
10:57You will see how much light will happen
11:00If you want to use any color
11:03Then you can use this color here
11:06If I do blue here
11:09Then you will see blue color will happen
11:12But it is affecting the whole city
11:15Let's see how to short it
11:18Here you are getting the option
11:21Use nodes
11:24Which are in this panel
11:28But this background
11:31Will not work here
11:34For this, I have to take one more thing
11:37For now, I will set this color as CTRL Z
11:40And here I will take the main
11:43Which I am going to affect the light
11:46For that, I will press SHIFT A
11:49And below the shader
11:52I will get another option of texture
11:55With the help of this
11:58I will create this light
12:01As soon as I click on it
12:04My environment texture will be generated
12:07If you want these things in this option
12:10You have to click on the circle
12:13And here you will get this option
12:16As soon as I click on it
12:19It will automatically connect
12:22By default, as soon as it is connected
12:25It is showing pink color
12:28This pink color means
12:31This texture is missing
12:34And here are some files
12:37From here we can open any texture
12:40For now, I will delete this one
12:43First, I will put an image here
12:46And I will click on open
12:49Here I will open
12:52And here I have a by default image
12:55I will select that image
12:58And I will open the image
13:01You will see that the pink color
13:04Has been replaced by my image
13:07And the color that was coming
13:10Is now coming here
13:13Which is also reflecting on the city
13:16I have changed the color
13:19I will delete this node
13:22And here I have changed the color
13:25So that whatever color I have
13:28Will reflect on this
13:31I will press CTRL Z
13:34If you want to use the perfect light
13:37For that we will use the HDRI image
13:40HDRI image will work in 360 direction
13:43And the lighting is set very well
13:46Now where will you get this HDRI image
13:49Simply go to google
13:52And search polyheaven
13:55So polyheaven is my free
13:58HDRI image provider
14:01Which provides the best textures
14:04And the best HDRI images
14:07I just have to click on browse
14:10Here you will get my many HDRI images
14:13There are many other websites
14:16Which provide us HDRI images and textures
14:19All the links are in the description
14:22It is very easy to use these HDRI images
14:25You just have to select an image
14:28From the image at the bottom
14:31If you select the image at the top
14:34It is a new generated image
14:37So you have to go down
14:40I will back it
14:43Scroll down
14:46And download the image
14:49You just have to click on it
14:52You will get this option at the top
14:55You just have to click on it
14:58This image will be downloaded
15:01After downloading the image
15:04And this environment texture
15:07You have to open it
15:10That HDRI image
15:13If you delete this HDRI image
15:16It will be a problem
15:19Always save this file
15:22After opening it
15:25It will be selected
15:28And you just have to replace the background color
15:31You can see
15:34I have an image at the back
15:37And I have got the lighting by default
15:40I will move it to the side
15:43This is my render view
15:46If I remove this node
15:49My city will be in the dark
15:52If I render it
15:55It will be rendered in the dark
15:58As soon as I replace the HDRI image
16:01With the background color
16:04You can see the lighting
16:07And the background color
16:10If I render it
16:13You can see the lighting
16:16And the background color
16:19But the main thing is
16:22I don't have to use the HDRI image
16:26If I want to remove it
16:29Let's see how to do it
16:32The way to remove it is very simple
16:35Go to the node
16:38Select an option
16:41Search light
16:44As soon as I click on light
16:47I will get an option called light path
16:50In this light path
16:53I will get a problem
16:56As soon as I connect it
16:59It will be disconnected
17:02If I connect it
17:05It will be disconnected
17:08I have already told you the solution
17:11We use two shaders
17:14One is add shader
17:17And the other is mix shader
17:20Watch video no. 49 for this
17:23Select mix shader
17:26As soon as I select it
17:29It will replace the node
17:32Press ctrl z
17:35Press shift a
17:38Select mix shader
17:41I have two shaders
17:44I can connect one with this
17:47I can connect the other with this
17:50I will connect this option with the top shader
17:53I will show you the effect of this
17:56I will show you the effect of this
17:59Press shift d
18:02Select duplicate
18:05I will connect this with the other shader
18:08As soon as I connect it
18:11The background color is grey
18:14The background color is grey
18:17The background color is grey
18:20The background color is grey
18:23If I want to change the color
18:26I can change it from here
18:29The effect of these two
18:32Is to increase or decrease
18:35If I want to increase the effect of the hdri image
18:38I will drag it to the back
18:41The effect of these two
18:44Is to increase or decrease
18:47If I want to increase the effect of the hdri image
18:50I will drag it to the back
18:53The effect of these two
18:56Is to increase or decrease
18:59The effect of these two
19:02Is to increase or decrease
19:05If I replace this factor
19:08camera ray
19:10camera ray means
19:12ray means ray
19:14means camera will
19:16capture only the light
19:18and will leave
19:20everything else
19:22that's why the image
19:24was filtered here
19:26and it is capturing only the light
19:28if you want to change
19:30the color of the image
19:32you can easily change the color
19:34of the image
19:36your color will never
19:38affect the image
19:40as long as it is connected
19:42to the camera ray
19:44if you want to use a good light
19:46or a good color in the background
19:48if you are working on a single model
19:50and you want to give a
19:52background color
19:54then you can easily
19:56do that
19:58let me show you
20:00here I have a car model
20:02and with this car model
20:04if I want to use a background color
20:06then I simply have to
20:08make two layouts
20:10and make a shader
20:12I will close it with N button
20:14here I have selected the middle one
20:16in which I can see the color
20:18and I will select the last one
20:20in the render
20:22so that I can see the real look
20:24of it
20:26now I have to go to the object mode
20:28in the word mode
20:30and I will get this option
20:32if you want to go to the word mode
20:34then this is the option
20:36and here
20:38if I want to use
20:40an HDRI image then I will press
20:42shift A button
20:44and I can directly select
20:46environment texture
20:48or I can select
20:50environment texture
20:52now I don't have to do anything
20:54from here
20:56I will select the
20:58downloaded HDRI
21:00so this is my HDRI
21:02I will select it
21:04and open image
21:06and here I will
21:08replace the grey color
21:10with my HDRI image
21:12so here
21:14the lighting will come
21:16if I want to finish the background image
21:18then I have to
21:20take a mix shader
21:22and
21:24light path
21:26the first shader
21:28is my object shader
21:30with which I will connect it
21:32like this
21:34the light on my object
21:36and the environment
21:38image will reflect
21:40in this
21:42and as soon as I will
21:44replace the background image
21:46it will disappear
21:48now if I want to add a color
21:50in the background
21:52then I will press shift A
21:54and I can use RGB
21:56RGB will give you
21:58simple color here
22:00if you want color in a good look
22:02then you can use RGB here
22:04or you can use the background
22:06with shift D button
22:08here
22:10if I want to use the background
22:12then I will simply connect it with another shader
22:14and my color will come
22:16in the background
22:18and whatever color I want
22:20here
22:22I can change it like this
22:24I can change it
22:26here I get one option
22:28if I want to make the lighting
22:30more sharp
22:32the color I am using
22:34I have to increase it
22:36I can increase the brightness
22:38as much as I want
22:40and if you want to increase the brightness
22:42from here
22:44you can increase it
22:46or you can decrease it as much as you want
22:48this was my background
22:50and if I want to use it with RGB
22:52I can use it like this
22:54and the color of RGB
22:56I can see it more clearly
22:58like this
23:00you can do whatever you want
23:02I like this background
23:04so I can change
23:06the strength of it
23:08I can set it to 1 by default
23:10and in the background
23:12if you want to use image
23:14then you can use image here
23:16for that you have to
23:18take the same one
23:20it's name is environment texture
23:22I will press shift A button
23:24I will select it
23:26in the name of environment texture
23:28and this is my second shader
23:30this time I will connect it here
23:32so here in my background
23:34you can see the pink color
23:36has come here
23:38now if I want to use
23:40sky texture here
23:42so you can directly
23:44search for sky
23:46and you will get many sky type
23:48textures
23:50in which you will get
23:52one type of sky
23:54as you can see here
23:56if you can't find any texture
23:58of this type
24:00so the second solution is
24:02simply go to google
24:04and search for free images
24:06and from any website
24:08like pixabay
24:10or any other website
24:12you can search for sky
24:14I will search for sky
24:16and I want sky cloud
24:18in sky
24:20I will select it
24:22and you will get many types of sky
24:24in the whole image
24:26I can see sky
24:28like this sky
24:30I will download
24:32the highest quality sky
24:34this is my simple image
24:36and I will go back to my blender
24:38now I don't have to do anything
24:40I just have to open
24:42and download the file
24:44I have downloaded a file
24:46I will select this file
24:48and you will get
24:50sky in the background
24:52you will also get lighting
24:54because of this you will get
24:56good lighting
24:58and in the background
25:00you will also get sky
25:02like this
25:04so as you can see
25:06we can use many things
25:08as per our convenience
25:10and now I will render it
25:12for that I will select
25:14camera from shift A
25:16and from ctrl alt 0
25:18I will set it like this
25:20and now I will render it
25:22and show you
25:24so you will see how good
25:26my car is looking
25:28I will press V button
25:30and increase it from W button
25:32so my car
25:34will look like this
25:36if I want to render it
25:38I can do it like this
25:40so as you can see
25:42if you want to use image
25:44you can use image
25:46if you want to use sdri
25:48you can use sdri
25:50if you want to use color
25:52you can use color
25:54second one you have to remove
25:56simply you have to connect
25:58with this color
26:00now it will be rendered
26:02as you can see
26:04how good my color is looking
26:06and if you use anything in the background
26:08it will not affect the color
26:10if you want to increase the brightness
26:12you can increase the strength
26:14if you want to change the color
26:16you can easily change the color
26:18from here
26:20it will not affect
26:22the object
26:24I will render it
26:26you can see
26:28it is very simple
26:30you can create environment light
26:32with the help of sdri
26:34and after that
26:36you can use anything
26:38you want to use
26:40color
26:42now there is one more thing
26:44this is our gradient
26:46suppose if you want to use gradient
26:48then how will you use it
26:50in the background
26:52let's see that
26:54whenever you want to make gradient
26:56for that we use color ramp
26:58which I have already told you
27:00in previous videos
27:02with the help of color ramp
27:04I will connect it
27:06with the shader
27:08two colors will be reflected
27:10one is black and other is white
27:12first they will be mixed
27:14if I want to change the color
27:16I will simply click on it
27:18and I will bring another color
27:20on the top
27:22and here I will take
27:24this type of color
27:26and I will click on the other one
27:28and here I will set
27:30this pink type color
27:32first my color will be mixed
27:34like this
27:36you can see the mixed color
27:38in the middle
27:40if I want to separate them
27:42I will take another node
27:44which is called coordinator
27:46texture coordinator will
27:48create a coordination between
27:50both of them
27:52and they will reflect
27:54as soon as I will connect it with the factor
27:56now my gradient is here
27:58there is a little sharpness
28:00so instead of linear I will
28:02make it b-spine
28:04and this sharpness will be gone
28:06you can see this way
28:08my gradient is here
28:10if you want to make more color
28:12simply click on the plus button
28:14on the color ramp
28:16and click on it as many times as you want
28:18my new buttons will be created
28:20you just have to go
28:22and select it
28:24and change the color
28:26and my color will be changed
28:28like this
28:30you can see that
28:32my gradient is
28:34changed in different colors
28:36so if you want to
28:38use your animation in
28:40your background
28:42or any other
28:44color background
28:46then you can cover it
28:48with this node
28:50this is a very easy way
28:52to give lighting and color
28:54to any object
28:56if I render it
28:58and show it to you
29:00then the whole gradient will be
29:02shown on the place where
29:04your camera is set
29:06if I want to show it from this view
29:08then I will set my camera
29:10with the help of ctrl alt 0
29:12now it will show me
29:14in this view
29:16like this
29:18so this was our environment light class
29:20in which you saw that
29:22if we want to create light in the environment
29:24if we want to create color
29:26or any image texture
29:28like sky or galaxy
29:30then we can use
29:32this node
29:34next we have 2 options
29:362nd is local light
29:38and 3rd is
29:40object light
29:42we will understand both of them in detail
29:44that's all for today
29:46see you in next video
29:48till then goodbye
