Nev said he was riding his bike last Monday, going to his son's school to bring him home, when disaster hit. “I never made it to pick up my son from school on the bike. In fact in some ways, I’m glad I didn’t. I was alone on impact. Me and the truck. And then I guess the pavement. I was alone and unconscious.”

00:00There's no exaggeration to say that Niamh Shulman is absolutely lucky to be alive.
00:04It's a phrase you hear people kick around, but what he endured on a bike ride out in
00:10the Hamptons and the aftermath is...
00:13It's horrific.
00:14Horrific.
00:15Broke his neck and really, like we said, lucky to be alive and also lucky that he's not paralyzed.
00:21He actually lost movement in his arm for a little bit, but it got restored and he has
00:26now kind of chronicled his road to recovery, which honestly is just unbelievable.
00:32The fact that he's up at that and walking like that.
00:34So we've talked about this how many times?
00:37About people who are on e-bikes.
00:38Now we're not positive this is an e-bike.
00:40We've seen him riding an e-bike around the Hamptons with his family.
00:45Now look at that picture.
00:46He's got three people on that bike.
00:48We're guessing it was an e-bike when he had this accident.
00:51So he's going to pick up his son.
00:54Fortunately, this happened before he got to the school to pick up his son because he points
00:59out his son could have been on the bike also when he had this accident where he hit a truck
01:07and shattered two vertebrae in his neck and came very close, as we said, to paralysis.
01:13This is how he describes his injuries.
01:16He says, I broke my neck, C5 and C6 to be exact.
01:20Stable fractures.
01:21I'm not paralyzed.
01:22My hands were a question mark there for a minute, but the human body is incredible and
01:27so are humans.
01:28A reference of thanking, I'm sure, the hospital staff.
01:33But my God, I mean, we have seen, and this is him getting rehabilitated here, but it
01:40is just, I got to tell you, I mean, having gone through this on an e-bike, I will say
01:48one thing.
01:49You are crazy.
01:51And Simon Cowell, are you listening to me?
01:54Crazy if you don't wear a helmet.
01:57I think a helmet saved my life.
01:59And it saved his life.
02:00And you saw, by the way, me point out that the helmet saved his too.
02:02It definitely saved his life.
02:04He showed a video and some photos where you can see it's cracked, but I mean, obviously,
02:08like you guys have been saying, I mean, I feel like we legitly talk about this like
02:11once a month of a different celebrity or person, you know, crashing on these e-bikes and getting
02:16in these, you know, horrific accidents and all these crazy injuries.
02:21But the good news for Neve is that, like you guys said, he isn't paralyzed.
02:24He's actually, I spoke with him this morning.
02:26He's home now.
02:28He's on the road to recovery.
02:29He said he's going to make a full recovery.
02:31But yeah, I mean, very, very scary accident.
02:34Hi, I'm Suzanne Roxanne.
02:36I'm in New Mexico.
02:38And I know whenever I saw Neve's social media posts, I thought of him as a father.
02:43He has three small kids.
02:44I have small kids.
02:45You are their everything.
02:47And so I'm sure this has made that an even more emotional recovery.
02:51And I grew up with a dad as a personal injury attorney.
02:55All I ever heard was wear a helmet.
02:57And this is such a good example of that absolutely saved his life.
03:00So good for him for being responsible as a father, as a husband in that way.
03:05Definitely made a difference.
03:07Yeah.
03:08Yeah.
03:09But people always, by the way, think that that it's a bad thing when you see the helmet
03:11and it's cracked.
03:12No, that's the proof.
03:13That's the proof.
03:14If you weren't wearing it, that it would have been your head that's cracked.
03:17Oh, my God.
