00:00anti-Hindu movement, Hindi movement, my bad, so because of the stance taken by a few political
00:07organizations outside Tamil Nadu, Tamil Nadu is seen as an anti-Hindi state. On the other hand,
00:14there's a counter-negative which says BJP just wants people in Tamil Nadu to learn Hindi as a
00:19third language so that opportunities open up to them. They can go work in a state like Maharashtra
00:25or Delhi where as you can see neighboring states of Telangana, Andhra Pradesh people
00:29you know are opting to go to those states and work. So how do you look at this entire sentiment
00:33ma'am and what is your stand on the entire Hindi controversy? No, only one thing I say,
00:38this is totally politicized. I'm asking whether in private schools they have banned Hindi? No.
00:45Only the poor government school children, they are denied the right to learn another language,
00:53they are running so many schools, even Stalin's sister running a CBSE school and in that,
01:00Hindi is taught. Why this discrepancy? Discrimination? Third thing, all the MPs,
01:10they know, you would have seen Shiva, he used to speak about Tamil but he was singing a Hindi song
01:16and so they know Hindi, so they encash it, so they project themselves as anti-Hindi people but
01:24they are not. They are protecting the private partners and their family members are learning
01:34and in spite of that the opportunities of these students, for example I will narrate one incident,
01:41I went to Hindi Prachara Sabha for a program. My name is Tamil Esai, as if it should not be
01:46projected, they are writing in Twitter, it's Hindi Esai. No, my life is Tamil, my blood is Tamil
01:51but learning another language cannot take away the pride of Tamil. The way they project then
01:58they are degrading Tamil. If another language is learned, if Tamil's pride is taken away,
02:04how they are degrading the pride of Tamil. Tamil, whatever may be the language… Is the pride so
02:08vulnerable? So Bharathiyar learned so many languages, he told, in spite of knowing all the
02:15languages, I respect Tamil because he learned all the languages and he troubled, these people did
02:23not learn any other language. So then they want, then Hindi Poda, whatever may be, they should not
02:30degrade another language. They put Baniyan saying that because that is the mother tongue of another
02:36state, no. Exactly. So in the attempt to safeguard your sentiments, maybe you are hurting
02:41somebody else's sentiments. So I am for Tamil, but I am asking, they have not made Tamil compulsory?
02:48During Kamaraj period, budget was submitted in Tamil, what did they do? So my allegation is,
02:58talking about Tamil, but they have not safeguarded the Tamil. There was a case saying that why
03:03maximum number of 10th standard students failed in Tamil. So what they are, okay, you are against
03:10another language, but what you have done to uphold the pride of your language, for the development of
03:16your language. So this is a political issue. Yeah, it's only politicizing it, that's all.
03:22Because when I say something immediately, you are a BJP, no. You be equal to everybody. So why,
03:29if you are so much against, why are you allowing all the private people, so the student passing out
03:36from private college, student, school, if there is an opportunity, job opportunity in Mumbai or
03:43Maharashtra or Delhi, he can take it. But Tamil student cannot, because now the world has become,
03:50globally, now we are growing. When we are growing, okay, 1967, the picture could have been different,
03:56but now also if you are talking the same thing, you are denying the opportunities of the children.
04:01Navodaya schools, I always lauded, because with 20 rupees fees.
