With kids home for the summer needing to be entertained, let’s have a look at the all-new Hot Wheels City Experience to see what it can offer to families.

00:00Hi, I'm Phil with Manchester World, and as you can see by the excited group of kids behind me, I'm here at the Hot Wheels City Experience.
00:07So let's go around and see what they've got to offer.
00:09So first and foremost, the event is on at the BEC Arena, the Bowlers Exhibition Centre, and it's running through to the middle of September.
00:16But the first thing that you see is you get a little introductory video, and the kids were massively excited after this immediately.
00:22Then once you go through into the main area, you've got more models than you could possibly count, and they've got some full-sized versions of the cars as well.
00:29They also have a timeline of Hot Wheels through the decades, and some of the best cars that they've put out.
00:37It sort of talks you through their whole building process.
00:40And then finally, you get through to the activities section.
00:43You've got this area where you can draw your own car, which I'm doing here.
00:47I put a lot of effort into this, to be honest, and then you get it scanned, and it comes up on the big screen, which is really cool to see.

00:57There's a gamer zone too, where you can have a go on the Hot Wheels PlayStation game.
01:01I thought I was going to win here, but got pipped to the line, so it was devastated, and ended up in third somehow.
01:12Then on the car simulators, I really struggled, to be honest.
01:16It's a really cool setup. You obviously sit in a racing seat, and the gears that you use are similar to that on F1 cars.
01:23I've actually just taken the first corner that I've done in this whole race, and I've actually taken it well, without just gassing it off the track.
01:31And I really struggled, to be honest.
01:34There's a bunch of activities to do. The Hot Wheels Lab allows you to build some little tracks, and then you can also build and design your own car,
01:40which I did here. I made a Manchester World one, which you'll see in just a minute.
