00:00Are you looking for a place in Katipunan to study, hang with your friends, or maybe get your coffee fix?

00:20Our first stop is here at Canto Freestyle Breakfast located at F. de la Rosa, Katipunan Avenue.
00:26A great way for us to start a productive day is with food for the brain.
00:30We tried the Breaded Pork Chop and 3-Layer Fluffy Pancakes paired with Iced Americano and Espresso,
00:36which is a good meal to have for a brainstorming session with your team.
00:40We also had the Chorizo de Cebu, Tapa Benedict, Cori-Cohi, and Ube and White Chocolate Latte.
00:48One of the unique things about this branch is its coffee-cina, a dedicated space for students to kick off their sessions with a hearty meal.
00:55We talked to Jay, the Head of Creatives at Canto Freestyle Breakfast to talk about why students come here to fuel their day.
01:02We were already planning to open up another branch here in Katipunan.
01:06And then the concept of this cafe is actually to have a safe space for people to work.
01:12The majority of the people that come in are students who, as I've said earlier, are pulling all-nighters and hanging out with friends.
01:19Of course, we're sticking to our nature wherein we would want the students to feel that this is like their second home.
01:28It's a place where they can feel safe while they're working in the middle of the night, where they don't need to worry about their well-being.
01:38Not everyone who are awake in the middle of the night are going out to eat. They want a place where they can work.

02:41Studying here in OpenSpace really gives me a sense of environment because working alone sometimes can lead you to a spiral.
02:50And here at OpenSpace, it literally is an open space so you can interact.
02:55For me, with what I'm studying, it requires a lot of focus because we use a lot of computers and sometimes we also have projects.
03:04It's very collaborative so like what you said, we can co-exist with other people who are also doing their own thing.
03:11Yeah, and having comments on each other's projects has been such a great thing to do here.

03:53For me, Beanleaf has sockets and Wi-Fi and my laptop dies a lot so it's really useful.
04:00Yeah, for me, I also like this cafe for group studying.
04:05So like our blockmates, a lot of us, if there's like an exam, we usually stay here and then put the tables together and study together.

04:26Hi, my name is Kate Del Rosario. I'm an operational manager here in Cara Cafe.
04:31The main idea of Cara Cafe came from carabao milk because we wanted to create a unique coffee experience.
04:38The first thing that students will ask once they enter our cafe is if we have Wi-Fi or if we have enough space and also if we have plugs.
04:47So those three are the main things that they look for.
04:50We would like to reintroduce carabao milk to them.
04:53We want to make sure that carabao milk will be given the spotlight again in the coffee industry.
04:59I see myself coming here often and finishing my pending tasks with a cold drink and a cookie.
