"We moved nine hours from family to go to Disney World every day - we're obsessed"

  • last month
A couple who got engaged at Disney World moved nine hours from their families to Florida - so they can go to the theme park every day.

Haley Sisk, 30, upped sticks and moved 652 miles from Knoxville, Tennessee, to Orlando, Florida, with her husband, Austin, 30, and three children - Everly, five, Ryder, two, and Ella, 11 months - in July 2024.

Haley grew up watching Disney films and fell in love with the franchise after becoming obsessed with the Little Mermaid.

She got engaged to Austin in July 2016, at Cinderella's Castle and said it is a "huge part" of their story.

The couple say the move was inspired by wanting their three children to spend a lot of their childhood there.

00:00We did it!
00:06We moved to Disney!
00:07Okay, we're not actually living in the castle or on Disney property, but we are living very,
00:13very close.
00:14Y'all absolutely blew up my last video where I said that we moved to Disney and are assuming
00:20that we are moving to Golden Oak.
00:22While Golden Oak is 100% goals and absolutely beautiful, that is absolutely not the tax
00:28bracket that we are living in right now.
00:30The comments on that video got completely out of hand and had me absolutely rolling
00:34on the floor because people were so pressed about this decision to move to Disney or just
00:38right next to Disney.
00:39But anyway, we officially made the move and we are so excited.
00:42The move went pretty smoothly except for when we got to the house and there was no air on
00:46so it was literally 90 degrees inside the house so I had to sit in the car with the
00:50baby to cool off.
00:51And then it absolutely monsooned while the movers were bringing our stuff in so the inside
00:55of the living room was basically a small pond.
00:58I had to step out of that because that was really stressing me out and go get some pizza
01:01and then we ate this pizza on some boxes which is pretty much mandatory when you're moving
01:05in somewhere.
01:06And then, welcome to Florida, we found a scorpion on the floor.
01:09Cool.
01:10So yeah, between that and the monsoon, it was really like a good welcome to Florida
01:13day.
01:14And then in true Florida fashion, I looked out the window and saw this beautiful sunset
01:17and then we saw the fireworks from our kid's bedroom window.
01:20Let's go to Magic Kingdom.
01:21Today was kind of a slow day for us here at the parks, but let's be real, any day at Magic
01:25Kingdom is still a magical day.
01:27I had to spend some time on Main Street looking at all the fall decorations because there
01:31are really not that many things that are better than fall decorations at Disney.
01:35We also decided to find a spot in the shade here so that we could watch this little parade
01:39that was coming through when we got there.
01:41We had not seen this parade yet and it was so cute because there were so many characters
01:44that we don't normally get to see around.
01:46You can see my daughter was freaking out because these were some of her favorite characters,
01:49especially Stitch.
01:51Had to get some shots in front of the castle today because there wasn't a lot of people
01:54around which was amazing.
01:55Sunday has definitely been the best day to go to the parks for us because it seems like
01:58it's the least busy that day.
02:00It was also a really short line to meet Mirabelle, but beware, the line is deceiving because
02:04that wait was still like 30 minutes even though there was only two people in front of us.
02:08Then we headed over to ride Ariel because that wait was only 20 minutes and we really
02:12needed a place to cool off and the baby was sleeping the whole time which was nice.
02:15Ariel is the best princess, don't fight me on that.
02:18Then we went to watch the Festival of Fantasy parade and it ended up getting rained out
02:21so we decided to leave and that was the end of our day.
