I finally ate at the Liverpool restaurant I always walk past, San Carlo.
Transcript
00:00I'm ashamed to say I'd never been to San Carlo before this weekend despite it
00:05being one of the most raved about restaurants in Liverpool. Located on
00:09Castle Street, I've walked past so many times and gone, oh we should have gone to
00:13San Carlo, we'll go next time and on Sunday I finally did. As soon as we
00:17walked in we were so impressed with the vibe and decor with lovely peach and
00:21orange colours, stunning lights and lots of greenery. Everything was immaculate and
00:25even the napkins had SC written on them. We both got a rosé and lemonade to drink
00:31and chose a selection of Italian breads which came with olive and sun-dried
00:34tomatoes habanero and fried mozzarella to start. I'm not even exaggerating when
00:39I tell you those breads and spreads were to die for and how good does this
00:43mozzarella look as well. My boyfriend was absolutely made up. We both got pasta for
00:48our mains because I feel like you have to when you're at an Italian. I got the
00:52spaghetti puttanesca, as you can tell I like olives and Jack got the Zitoni
00:56Toscanini, I'm probably not saying that right, which was pasta tubes with spiced
01:01sausage, olive oil, tomatoes and cheese. Up there with the best pasta we've both had.
01:05For dessert we got the tiramisu and mango and lemon sorbet which were
01:10delicious and I feel like you can't go wrong with a sorbet after a filling meal
01:13but obviously a tiramisu is a must as well. The whole space is beautiful and if
01:18you head downstairs you'll find a wine cellar, the gorgeous private dining space
01:22and the most lovely toilets with spacious cubicles and lots of mirrors as
01:26well. 10 out of 10 for San Carlo. The only thing I'm annoyed about is the fact that
01:30I've never been before.
