Starbucks' new CEO reveals his best leadership advice after serving as Chipotle's boss

Starbucks just poached Chipotle CEO Brian Niccol in surprise leadership shake-up.

00:00I've had the opportunity to be in leadership roles at great companies, great organizations.

00:04And the thing I would suggest to folks, first and foremost, is take the time to listen.

00:09And then once you have given yourself the opportunity to listen to the issues at hand,

00:15people's opinions, the facts, you have to be decisive. You have to be willing to make a

00:20decision. Now, once you make a decision, it doesn't mean you can't change your mind as you

00:24get new information. And I think some of the mistakes I see people make is sometimes they

00:29don't take the time to listen. And then when they do make a decision, they get overcommitted

00:34on the decision and don't pay attention to the feedback that they're getting on that decision.

00:38Just because you change your mind doesn't mean you can't have conviction. But I do think it's

00:41important to listen, be decisive, and then be aware of what actually is the consequences

00:46of that decision. And if you have to adjust, adjust.
