00:00The former Bamban-Tarlac Mayor, Alice Guo, is facing a new complaint.

00:05She filed a tax evasion complaint.

00:07The Bureau of Internal Revenue, against Guo, has removed her role in the illegal pogo in Bamban.

00:13Salima Refran has the first news.

00:19One day after the ombudsman dismissed Alice Guo as the Mayor of Bamban-Tarlac,

00:25she filed a tax evasion complaint because of her role in the illegal pogo in Bamban-Tarlac.

00:32In the complaint filed by the BIR to the Department of Justice,

00:36Capital Gains Tax and Documentary Stamp Tax did not pay Guo

00:41when she sold shares in Baufu Land Development when the Mayor of Bamban-Tarlac ran away.

00:46It is clear that there is a tax evasion in this transaction.

00:50The value of the shares she sold is small.

00:54That's why this amount is around P500,000.

00:58According to the Presidential Anti-Organized Crime Commission of Paok,

01:02Guo sold 2.5 million shares in 2021 for P1 per share.

01:08The shares sold by Guo and the Corporate Secretary of Baufu Land also passed the complaint.

01:14The cases are multidimensional.

01:17But definitely there is a narrative there that will have to come out in the end.

01:23So that's the job now of the law enforcement agencies to help us with the connections within

01:30so that the narrative can be completed.

01:32According to Guo's lawyer, they will answer all the complaints filed by the BIR.

01:38As for the dismissal of the ombudsman to Guo,

01:42his lawyer was saddened that the ombudsman did not approve of their argument.

01:47But they are already preparing a motion for reconsideration that they need to appeal to the Court of Appeals.

01:54This is the second criminal complaint against Guo.

01:57He is also facing a qualified human trafficking complaint here in the Department of Justice

02:02related to the raid on Zuniwan Technology in March this year.

02:06This is in addition to the Co-Warranto case and the cancellation of the birth certificate

02:10obtained by the Office of the Solicitor General and the material misrepresentation case in COMELEC.

02:17According to COMELEC Chairman George Garcia,

02:19the ombudsman's order is immediately executory,

02:22except if he can get a temporary restraining order from the Court of Appeals.

02:26So even if he can file a Certificate of Candidacy for the next election,

02:31COMELEC will cancel it.

02:33The dismissal of the ombudsman to Guo was close to a three-month suspension

02:37for the 12 officials of Bambad, including the Vice Mayor.

02:41The member of the Sangguniang Bayan is also in the same situation.

02:44That's why the municipal councilor, Eranio Timbang, will run first.

02:48He is a councilor of the Sangguniang Bayan.

02:51He is a councilor but he opposed us when we got the permit.

02:56And because of this, since he opposed, yes, he was absolved or acquitted by the ombudsman.
