00:09This virus, officially called the Oropauch virus, has already claimed two lives in Brazil

00:16The virus, which originates from the Amazon rainforest, is transmitted through the bites

00:23Those infected experience extreme fever, diarrhea, headaches, and severe joint and muscle pain.
00:29And it's not just a mild sickness, in severe cases, it can even affect the central nervous

00:34Recently, a 26-year-old woman and a 45-year-old man were hospitalized in Italy after returning
00:39from Cuba.
00:40Spain, Italy, and Germany have reported cases, with Spain alone seeing 15 cases in just two
00:46months.
00:47Experts like Dr. Danny Altman from Imperial College London warn that this could be just
00:51the beginning.
00:52The European Centre for Disease Prevention and Control has issued a special warning to
00:57pregnant women, advising them to avoid non-essential travel to infected areas.
