00:46Indonesian financial market
00:47Still facing some challenges
00:49With global uncertainty
00:51In the high-rise era
00:53The global geopolitical situation
00:55And the economic slowdown
00:57In the last few years
01:01However
01:02BRI Investment Management
01:04Is still optimistic
01:05About the prospects
01:06Of the national real estate industry
01:08With a lot of sentiment
01:09From both domestic and foreign
01:11Where the potential growth
01:12Of real estate management
01:14Or asset under management
01:16Still depends on the investor
01:18And the economic condition of the country
01:20That's why
01:21We need strategies and
01:22Enhance literacy
01:23About the role of investment
01:24Including tax
01:26As a solution
01:27Of financial planning
01:28For the people
01:31So how does the effort
01:32Of PT BRI Investment
01:34In increasing the interest
01:35Of investment
01:36To the people in Indonesia?
01:38Let's discuss
01:39With the main director
01:40Of PT BRI Investment Management
01:43Dina Melina
01:44Only on Women's Talk
01:46Dina Melina, PT BRI Investment Management Director
01:49I'm now with
01:50The main director
01:52Of PT BRI Investment Management
01:54Or the main director
01:56Dina Melina
01:58How are you, ma'am?
01:59I'm fine, thank God
02:00So beautiful
02:01Thank you
02:02For joining us
02:03On Women's Talk
02:04This time
02:06Who doesn't know
02:07BRI Investment Management?
02:09We know
02:11This is the first
02:12Investor of real estate industry
02:14In Indonesia
02:15Is it true, ma'am?
02:16Can you tell us
02:17What is it like?
02:18Let's get to know
02:19About BRI Investment Management
02:22Yes
02:23Actually
02:24BRI Investment Management
02:25Comes from
02:26An investment management company
02:29That has long been
02:31An investor
02:32Of real estate industry
02:34In the past
02:35This company was called
02:36Real Estate Investment Management
02:38But after BRI
02:39Became the shareholder
02:41In 2022
02:44We changed the name
02:45Or rebranding
02:46To BRI Investment Management
02:50If we talk about
02:51An investment management
02:53It's not without
02:55The management fund
02:57And so on
03:00How much
03:01Is the management fund now?
03:05In total
03:06Now
03:07BRI Investment Management
03:08Manages 43.5 trillion
03:11Assets under management
03:13Is there an increase
03:14Compared to last year?
03:15Of course
03:16There is an increase
03:17And
03:18Alhamdulillah
03:19After one year
03:22Focusing on the BRI ecosystem
03:24We
03:25Are one of the
03:26Investing managers
03:27That continues to grow
03:28In 2023
03:30And
03:31Consistent until
03:32The first semester
03:34In 2024
03:35So even though
03:36The industry is tough
03:37But
03:38Alhamdulillah
03:39BRIME
03:40Still shows growth
03:41And
03:42For
03:43AUM
03:44Funds
03:45Or funds only
03:46Our rank
03:47Has increased
03:48From last year
03:49To the 5th
03:50And
03:51This June
03:52Alhamdulillah
03:53To the 3rd
03:54What makes
03:55The rank
03:56From
03:57BRI Investment Management
03:58From last year?
03:59From the 5th
04:00To the 3rd
04:01Even though
04:02You said
04:03The condition is tough
04:05So
04:06If
04:07It's more
04:09We focus
04:10On
04:12Clients
04:13Or
04:14Investors
04:15That are
04:16Directed to
04:17Go retail
04:18And
04:19BRI itself
04:20As a group
04:21Has an amazing
04:22Client base
04:23And
04:24That's where
04:25The space for us
04:26To grow
04:27So
04:28BRIME's growth
04:29At the end of the year
04:30And
04:31The beginning of this year
04:32Is
04:33A lot of
04:34Retail segments
04:35Or retail investors
04:36So
04:37There are
04:38Many
04:39Who
04:40Didn't have
04:41BRIME before
04:42With
04:43Our
04:44Literacy programs
04:45Started to know
04:46And
04:47Finally
04:48Have a BRIME portfolio
04:49Because
04:50BRIME is
04:51Not an investment
04:52For
04:53The rich
04:54Because
04:55BRIME
04:56Can be bought
04:57By anyone
04:58Even
04:59Not only
05:00In
05:01Branches
05:02But
05:03You can also
05:04Buy it on
05:05Digital platforms
05:06All that ease
05:07Is what
05:08Promotes
05:09The
05:10Growth
05:11Of
05:12Investors
05:13Especially
05:14Those who
05:15Have
05:16BRIME
05:17Right
05:18The
05:19Image of
05:20Investment
05:21That
05:22Is
05:23Expensive
05:24But
05:25If we
05:26Go further
05:27Even
05:28100 thousand
05:29Can be
05:30Bought
05:31Yes
05:32Even
05:33We have
05:34Products
05:35That
05:36Even
05:3710 thousand
05:38Can be
05:39Bought
05:40Even
05:41100 thousand
05:42Can be
05:43Bought
05:44Yes
05:45It's
05:46A
05:47Huge
05:48Investment
05:49Management
05:50That
05:51Is
05:52Big
05:53In
05:54The
05:55World
05:56If we
05:57Talk about
05:58Retail
05:59Online
06:00It's
06:01Actually
06:02People
06:03Who
06:04Like
06:05Investment
06:06But
06:07is something that we have to do together.
06:11And it's not just one or two industry players.
06:15It has to be done together.
06:17Why? Because if we look at some data,
06:20for Indonesia, the total IUM,
06:23Indonesia's total IUM,
06:25our GDP is only 3%.
06:28And if we look at the total investors
06:31who have invested,
06:33Indonesia has only reached around 11 to 12 million.
06:36Compared to the amazing Indonesian population,
06:39it's still very small.
06:41And it's not seen as pessimism.
06:43It's seen as an opportunity.
06:45It means there's still a lot of room to grow.
06:48But for our people to own it,
06:52of course they have to know.
06:54What is Reksadana?
06:56Can I have it?
06:59Is it right for me?
07:02Those are the processes that we have to
07:05patiently and consistently deliver information
07:09about investment,
07:11starting from simple investment principles.
07:14Don't put eggs in one basket.
07:17That's in Reksadana.
07:19Because Reksadana has several underlying principles.
07:22Then, dollar cost averaging,
07:25investing routinely,
07:27that's also in Reksadana.
07:29With the program, for example,
07:31saving for the future,
07:33regular investment like that.
07:35Even the high-risk, high-return principle,
07:38it's actually been around for a long time.
07:40But, for example,
07:42you took a loan to buy an investment,
07:46but it turned out to be a stupid investment.
07:48That, I can recognize twice.
07:51Education is the key, in my opinion.
07:54For our people to know,
07:56to understand, and finally,
07:58they are comfortable to own an investment portfolio.
08:01Do you have your own method,
08:04for the team,
08:06how to provide education?
08:08Because I think we've realized,
08:10we really understand,
08:11that it's been a problem since the beginning.
08:13Actually, education is the most basic level.
08:16Why?
08:18What kind of method do you use?
08:20It turns out that this is the one that is capable.
08:23Yes.
08:24I see that
08:26we can't stop looking for ways to communicate.
08:32We have to be creative.
08:34Because our segments are also diverse.
08:37There are young people,
08:40there are even senior citizens.
08:43How to communicate one thing
08:47to different segments is different.
08:49So, for example,
08:51when we enter the campus,
08:54we make a public clash,
08:56the topic must be adjusted to them.
08:58Why do they have to start investing?
09:00Investments don't have to wait for money.
09:02Starting now,
09:04we always ask, when?
09:06What to buy?
09:07It becomes a question for friends,
09:09or young investors.
09:11But when we come to customers,
09:14or clients, or senior citizens,
09:17we talk about investments
09:19to prepare their pensions later.
09:22Those who beat inflation,
09:25those who are liquid,
09:27because they need their cash,
09:29or their cash investment,
09:31they can easily get it,
09:33or use it.
09:36So, for young families,
09:39maybe they have to think about school.
09:42Save from now.
09:44The school fee, the inflation is higher
09:46than the usual inflation.
09:49So they have to save more,
09:51or find the right investment or instrument.
09:55So, education actually has many angles.
10:00But what is certain,
10:02when we talk, we see
10:04who is the target audience that we are facing,
10:09so the material that we convey must be right.
10:12For example, when we have a women's forum,
10:16Women Empowerment, or whatever,
10:18we talk about sandwich generation,
10:21or women who are the backbone of the family,
10:26those are also breadwinners,
10:29those are the terms that we share.
10:31Or invest in yourself.
10:34For example, investment is sometimes,
10:38wow, stocks, bonds,
10:40sometimes they can invest in jewelry,
10:44but there is also value of money.
10:48Okay, something that is close to everyday life,
10:52that is common with them,
10:54that doesn't use high language,
10:56that makes the interest disappear.
11:01We will continue to discuss
11:03what is the career path of this woman,
11:07Usai Jeda Ibu, we will continue.
11:09And Pumir, don't leave your place,
11:11because Women's Talk will continue
11:13with Usai Jeda.
11:26Thank you Pumir for joining us again in Women's Talk,
11:29and we will continue to discuss with
11:31the main director of PTBRI, Investment Management,
11:34Mrs. Tina Melina.
11:37You joined PTBRI since December 2023,
11:43can you tell us about your journey?
11:46How come?
11:47At first you were a banker,
11:49what was it like?
11:51Yes, I left my career as a wealth manager,
11:57so I ran a wealth management business in PTBRI
12:01for almost 15 years,
12:03and before that I also ran a business
12:07related to Preferred Circle,
12:09also in the field of wealth management.
12:13Of course, in running that role,
12:16I had to provide various knowledge and certifications,
12:21from WMI, WAPER,
12:24Certified Financial Planner,
12:27Certified Wealth Manager, like that.
12:30That became a backup, maybe also a point,
12:34so when PTBRI had investment management,
12:40one of my tasks or my next task
12:45was to develop the business in this WMI.
12:49I joined investment management in December 2023,
12:54and I ran a role as an SCVP
13:00for Product and Alternative Investment.
13:02Of course, all of that supported me
13:05with more knowledge related to investment.
13:08Of course, this also became a question
13:12in the industry or in some friends,
13:15how do bankers go to investment management?
13:20As I said, all of that can be learned
13:23and all of that must have a background
13:26related to my career journey.
13:29I like that, what you said.
13:31All of that can be learned,
13:33it means that you have a great desire
13:35to try something new.
13:37Even though it's not really new,
13:39there's still a connection, but it's a bit different.
13:44Do you think this is an opportunity or a challenge?
13:48Of course, this is a challenge.
13:50It's a new challenge,
13:51because we are always expected to develop ourselves.
13:55When we become the top leaders in a field,
14:00in WMI for example,
14:02we will definitely be expected
14:06to be able to develop other businesses
14:09or give more value.
14:12When I joined BRI Investment Management,
14:17with a new role as CEO or CEO of a company,
14:23not just a business field,
14:25it became a challenge.
14:28It's a test for us to see our ability,
14:33in addition to knowledge,
14:35of course, also the ability to lead.
14:38So, leading the organization,
14:40of course, the shape of a company
14:43will definitely be very different
14:45from leading the organization,
14:47which is a division,
14:49where I'm still at the higher level.
14:54Now, being at the top of the leadership,
14:58with the main responsibility,
15:00of course, the hope must be secure.
15:02If it's secure, the work is expected,
15:05the result will be blessed.
15:07So, I always say,
15:08be safe, I hope it's secure and blessed.
15:11It should always be neat,
15:14must be secure.
15:15And affirmation for yourself too.
15:17Yes, so the work must be secure.
15:19So, what is given must be carried out with responsibility,
15:23supported with the knowledge it has,
15:26added with new abilities.
15:30Of course, one of them is leadership,
15:33communications,
15:34maybe suddenly you have to be a market expert,
15:39know about the industry,
15:41and open up new horizons.
15:43But that makes me very happy,
15:45because we will not be a static person.
15:48We will continue to grow and be asked to continue to learn.
15:51So, like a glass,
15:53if it's too full, it will overflow,
15:55we always empty it.
15:57How to empty it?
15:59Sharing the knowledge.
16:01Because when we share the knowledge,
16:04we empty half of our glass
16:07and fill it with new things.
16:09That's also a way...
16:11How do you share the knowledge?
16:17Many ways.
16:18Sometimes in a casual way,
16:19sometimes in a formal way,
16:20how to be a speaker.
16:22Because there is a certification of profession,
16:27so I am sometimes asked to be a speaker.
16:31For example, not only talk about investment,
16:34sometimes we have to talk in a holistic way,
16:37talk about managing wealth,
16:40planning money,
16:42sometimes the forum is for students,
16:44sometimes for housewives,
16:46sometimes for S2 teachers,
16:49who are definitely more advanced.
16:51Or also,
16:52enter a session
16:54when I have to be a teacher in a certification program.
16:58Even there, sometimes I teach,
17:00there are professors in it.
17:03Sometimes, between the one who teaches and the one who is taught,
17:05the one who teaches is more advanced,
17:07if the student is a professor.
17:09But it's interesting,
17:11when people usually say,
17:13if the glass is too full,
17:15you will be bad,
17:17overweight.
17:19It can be emptied again.
17:20The way is like we said, sharing.
17:23Okay.
17:24Then, if we talk about SDM,
17:26which is the main strength of BRI,
17:28investment management,
17:29do you agree?
17:30I totally agree.
17:31Because,
17:33in investment management,
17:35the main principle is
17:38managing the investment.
17:40Managing the investment
17:42that is deposited by the investor
17:45to choose the most appropriate instrument
17:49according to the profile of the investor
17:51and the risk profile
17:53that they are interested in.
17:55So, someone who is capable,
17:58who knows the market,
17:59who can read the trend of the market,
18:04who can choose the right instrument,
18:08the right composition,
18:11supported by research,
18:13all of those are the role of humanity,
18:16the role of talent.
18:17So, it has to be the best,
18:24the best people
18:26who can run the trust,
18:29manage the investment deposit.
18:31Because,
18:32maybe in a bank, it's different.
18:34In an investment manager,
18:37the deposit has to be bought by the investment portfolio.
18:42They have to know which emittance is good.
18:45Not only the emittance is good,
18:47but also the trend of the industry,
18:48how the emittance will affect the future,
18:51the future view.
18:52You're talking about money, right?
18:53Yes, talking about people.
18:56The trust to invest in Indonesia also has to be maintained.
19:00Because there are too many stories about stupid investments.
19:04So, the people,
19:05who used to be small in terms of GDP,
19:07are not really happy yet,
19:09but they are tired of it.
19:12Do you want to be a banker
19:14or an investment manager?
19:18Both have different challenges.
19:20But, everything has to be in a pleasant condition.
19:26Because there are different angles.
19:32In investment,
19:33we have to be very specific,
19:35very in-depth.
19:37So, we have to learn more thoroughly.
19:42Maybe,
19:43the specialist category.
19:46Here, we can be called a generalist,
19:48because we have to know about investment,
19:50insurance,
19:52and credit.
19:54There are so many kinds of knowledge.
19:57Here, it's specific.
19:59But, in investment,
20:00we have to know about equity, bonds,
20:04and emittance.
20:05We have to know the signs,
20:06and the direction.
20:08But, your ability is getting better, right?
20:11It has to be improved.
20:12And, that's the requirement
20:14so that we can follow the direction of industry and business.
20:20Okay.
20:21That's very inspiring.
20:23What else do you want to achieve personally?
20:30We'll talk about it later.
20:32We'll be back with the last segment.
20:34Stay with us on Women's Talk.
20:45WOMEN'S TALK
20:48We're back again.
20:50We'll continue our discussion with Mrs. Tina.
20:53Mrs. Tina, if you want to join
20:55BRI, Investment Management,
20:57is it difficult?
20:58Because, the SDM is very high.
21:02Like what you said,
21:03the responsibility is heavy.
21:05It's not difficult.
21:07Because, nowadays,
21:09it's more...
21:11It turns out, the new team members
21:13have already...
21:15They learn by themselves.
21:17Suddenly, they have a CFA.
21:21So, the enthusiasm of the current generation
21:23to have something higher,
21:27to increase the value,
21:29the personal value is already there.
21:31So, maybe it's not too difficult for us
21:34to accept and get the best talent.
21:37But, indeed,
21:39this industry is quite tough
21:41to get the talent.
21:43Because, the players are few.
21:45This industry needs the best talents.
21:49The players are few?
21:50Yes, because they have to have
21:52a certain certification.
21:54MI, for example.
21:56And to follow that,
21:57they need skills too.
22:00That makes us have to
22:03maintain and protect
22:05the best talents that we have.
22:07Ma'am,
22:09in your opinion,
22:11what do we need to improve
22:13so that the literacy,
22:15the investment,
22:17and the penetration
22:19will be better in the future?
22:21As you said, the SDM is actually
22:23quite minimal.
22:25Yes, if we look at it,
22:29it shows the interest of this industry.
22:31It shows the interest of investing.
22:35It also shows that
22:37investing is not that scary.
22:39In a more grounded way.
22:42In a way that
22:45we know who is our opponent.
22:48And who is the
22:51figure in the industry
22:53who keeps talking about
22:55the fund, for example, what is the fund?
22:57Why do we need to have a fund?
22:59We have to keep doing that.
23:02Because that is the key
23:04to how our society
23:06is informed
23:08and finally has
23:10and has the desire
23:12to develop
23:14its assets.
23:16Because I really
23:18regret
23:20if the Indonesian society
23:22doesn't get the chance
23:24to have
23:26an instrument
23:28that is already in front of their eyes.
23:30Just because they don't know,
23:32just because they don't believe,
23:34they don't get
23:36the benefit from
23:38the optimum of our funds
23:40when we invest.
23:42Sometimes, there is a desire,
23:44many people ask me,
23:46there is a desire, there is a fund,
23:48but they just don't know
23:50where to buy it.
23:52So, ma'am,
23:54if we talk a little
23:56about your life,
23:58what do you usually do
24:00in your free time?
24:02Because you must be busy, right?
24:04What do you do
24:06to relax?
24:08Do you have a hobby?
24:10For me,
24:12it's like this.
24:14Now, I have a hobby,
24:16I like to follow trends.
24:18So, the point is,
24:20I do something that can
24:22switch my mind.
24:24For example,
24:26I can focus on different things.
24:28For example,
24:30I like to have a simple game.
24:32A game that,
24:34for kids nowadays,
24:36it's boring,
24:38but there is a competition element.
24:40So, I focus on competing.
24:42A game on a gadget, ma'am?
24:44Yes, on a gadget,
24:46to divert my mind
24:48from routine.
24:50But I really have to
24:52be able to manage it,
24:54because it's just a media
24:56coaching for a moment.
24:58So, it's really different.
25:00It turns out that you also play games.
25:02Okay, for the last,
25:04what else do you want to achieve
25:06after this, in your career?
25:08Of course,
25:10in my career,
25:12I feel that
25:14as long as we can
25:16give
25:18all the benefits
25:20that we have received before,
25:22knowledge, experience,
25:24then,
25:26the good things about
25:28what we experience,
25:30I feel that
25:32there are always new things
25:34that we can do.
25:36I don't know my age,
25:38because new things can be learned
25:40at any stage of life.
25:42Okay, ma'am. Is there a coach
25:44that you really like?
25:46Who can be
25:48a guide for you?
25:50I used to be
25:52known as a very
25:54quiet person.
25:56Not too social.
25:58But in my job,
26:00sometimes,
26:02unconsciously, I apply
26:04a quote, which happens to be in my office.
26:06There's also a quote on the wall
26:08of my co-worker's wall, which is
26:10the point is,
26:12work in silence
26:14lets the success
26:16become the noise.
26:18So, we work
26:20in silence,
26:22but
26:24our success
26:26will become the noise.
26:28Right. You don't have to be too noisy.
26:30People will see
26:32what our work is like.
26:34The result will be seen
26:36to the world.
26:38And of course, it must be useful
26:40for everyone.
26:42Good luck to you,
26:44and also to you in the future.
26:46And also the team of PT BRI,
26:48thank you for sharing with us.
26:50See you again, ma'am.

26:56a source of information,
26:58an inspiration for your career,
27:00your life, and your business.
