00:00So hello everyone, welcome back to the channel Web4Click.
00:03In the last episode, I taught you how to make hair on a basic level.
00:07But let me tell you one thing.
00:09The hair that we are making from the particle system,
00:12we can't connect them directly with the rig.
00:15When you make hair and connect the character with the rig,
00:18then it will connect.
00:19But when you try to animate it in pose mode,
00:23then you can have a problem here.
00:25And a lot of people must be having a problem.
00:28And if you want a solution to this,
00:30then you will have to understand the entire series of hair in detail.
00:33Now we will make hair at the advanced level.
00:36And at the advanced level, we will make curly hair,
00:39simple hair, beard,
00:41and a lot of different styles of hair here practically.
00:46And at the same time, we will rig our character and animate it.
00:50And we will try to finish it here as soon as possible in 2 or 3 videos.
00:54So today's topic is the shape of our hair.
00:58We will understand the hair shape in detail.
01:00And along with that, we will make a lot of things here practically.
01:04Like we have to make a solid ball of this type,
01:07which has a lot of pointed nails.
01:09Or we have to make a nose ring of this type,
01:11which has a lot of thorns.
01:13Or we have to grow grass somewhere.
01:15We will do all these things practically here.
01:20If you haven't subscribed to the channel yet,
01:22then subscribe immediately.
01:24Because there is not only 3D animation here,
01:26there are a lot of things that you will get to learn here.
01:30So let's start the program now.
01:32So we have come to our Blender screen.
01:34First of all, what we will do is,
01:36I will delete this cube from here.
01:38And here I will take a sphere.
01:40I will press the S button and I will scale it a little.
01:45And by right-clicking, I will make it shade smooth.
01:48So that it looks a little smooth to me.
01:50Now let's go ahead and grow some hair here.
01:53If you go to Properties,
01:55you will get an option called Particle Properties here.
01:58And here you just have to click.
02:00Such an interface will come in front of us.
02:03Here on the top side, you will get a plus button.
02:06As soon as you click on this plus button,
02:08our particle system will be generated.
02:11And a lot of options will be shown to you below.
02:14Here in the corner, you will get the option of hair.
02:18Simply you have to click on hair here.
02:20And my hair will be generated in it.
02:23In Emission, you will get all the settings to control your hair.
02:27Here I will make its length 1 meter.
02:30Or I will increase it a little more.
02:32The hair of 1.5 meters have come here.
02:35I have already covered a lot of options below this.
02:38The whole Emission option has been covered.
02:40Our hair dynamics has been covered.
02:42There is nothing special in the Render option.
02:44If you want to change the color of your hair,
02:47simply go to Render and select any material.
02:52The color of the hair will change here.
02:55What we are going to understand here today is our main hair shape.
02:59How can we change the shape of the hair?
03:02Along with that, you will get an option of children here.
03:04Here we will understand two things.
03:06Simple and interpolated.
03:08So first of all, let's come to our hair.
03:10You will get a lot of options here in hair.
03:13I will make it a little higher.
03:15First of all, if I try to make the hair a little thicker or thinner with the help of these hair shapes,
03:20then you will see that there will be no difference here.
03:25I will make them all back in the same stage.
03:28I will press the CTRL Z button.
03:30And in this way, they will come back to me in the same stage
03:33that their values were filled here before me.
03:35So now you have seen that I have made any changes here.
03:38There are no changes in the hair here.
03:40One more thing I would like to show you here.
03:42First of all, we will go to the Render option here.
03:44Anything that will appear real here, you will see in the render view.
03:49Pay attention to the shape of the hair here.
03:51These hairs are very thin.
03:53You can see here.
03:55When we check its mode here in EV first,
03:58then the shape of this hair is very thin.
04:00I can see.
04:01But as soon as I convert it to cycles here,
04:04you will see that the shape of these hairs has changed here.
04:07And I can see some thick ones here.
04:09Whereas if I convert it to EV here,
04:11then you will see that my hair will become thin again.
04:13One more thing I will show you here.
04:15As soon as I go to this option here,
04:17if I change anything here in the diameter root,
04:20then you will see that I am not seeing any changes here.
04:23But as soon as I increase its value from 1 to 5 here,
04:27then it is not reflecting anything here in EV.
04:30But as soon as I go to cycles and see it,
04:32then you will see that the shape of my hair has become so thick here.
04:37I remove its shadow from here like this.
04:41Now you can see that the thickness of these hairs is coming in cycles.
04:45But as soon as I change it to EV here,
04:47it will go back to my same position here.
04:50So why is this happening?
04:52First of all, understand this thing.
04:54I will select this sphere.
04:55I come back to my particle system.
04:57One thing I have already told you that
04:59there are many such options that work completely in our cycles.
05:04But as soon as we come to EV,
05:06it stops working in EV.
05:09And in EV, we have to do some settings separately.
05:12Then it works like cycles there.
05:15Similarly, we have to do a simple setting here too.
05:18And it will start working like a cycle here.
05:21Now where will we get that setting?
05:23We have to go to the render,
05:25which is our camera option.
05:27And in this, we will get an option of curves at the bottom.
05:30In this curve option,
05:33I will get two options.
05:35Stripe and Strand.
05:37By default, you will get Strand here.
05:40As soon as I click on the stripe here,
05:43you will see that now it will start working like a cycle render here.
05:49And all my hairs have become fat here.
05:52And when I change the shape here,
05:55now all these shapes will start reflecting here in the same way.
05:59I close its shadow from here.
06:01So simply you have to select the glow here
06:04and you have to go to the render here.
06:06And in this curve option,
06:08after selecting this stripe option,
06:10all your options will start working here.
06:13So let's go back to our particle option.
06:16And now let's understand all these things in detail here.
06:19Now let's go ahead and understand all the options of shape here one by one.
06:25The first option we get is Strand Shape.
06:28In Hindi, Strand means the upper part of our arrow.
06:33We call it Strand.
06:35If we want to give them an arrow shape,
06:38then we use this option here.
06:41Now let's see how to use it.
06:44First of all, you will get zero value here.
06:46If I increase it from zero to the upper side,
06:49then you will see that the upper part of it will become thin like this.
06:55And the lower part will become thick like this.
06:59That is, there will be no difference on the lower part.
07:01The upper part will keep getting thinner here.
07:04And I can make it as thin as I want here.
07:07If I want, I can also finish it slowly.
07:10So in a way, we can generate the thorn shape on the rose here.
07:18So if we want to make the upper part of our hair thin,
07:22then we can pull the value beyond zero like this.
07:27And we can make it as thin as we want and finish it at the end.
07:31You can see how much I have made it thin here.
07:34Now I make it zero again here.
07:36Now if we take its value again from zero to the lower side,
07:40then the upper part of the hair here becomes an arrow shape.
07:45In a way, we can make the tip of the pencil here.
07:50And we can keep it here as much as we want.
07:53If we reduce it from zero, then its upper part becomes thin.
07:56So I make it zero again here.
07:59Now let's go to our second option.
08:01The second option is our Diameter Root.
08:03Diameter Root and Diameter Scale both work in the same way.
08:07If we want to make the lower part of our hair thin or thick,
08:14then we can make it as thin or thick as we want with the help of Diameter Root.
08:20Similarly, we have Diameter Scale here.
08:23With the help of Diameter Scale, we can make it thin or thick like this.
08:28So Diameter Root and Diameter Scale both work in the same way.
08:32The third option we get in this is Tip.
08:34The way we reduced the value from zero to the lower side,
08:37then you saw that our upper part was becoming an arrow shape.
08:40That is, the lower part was getting thicker in the middle.
08:43This tip does exactly the same thing here.
08:45When I increase it here like this,
08:47then you will see that the middle part will increase in thickness here.
08:52And the upper part will become an arrow like this.
08:55I make it zero again here.
08:57Now you can see the difference between the tip and strand shape.
09:01Now with this tip, I have been given one more option at the bottom,
09:05which is called Close Tip.
09:07Now you can see that if I am increasing the value from zero,
09:10then it is making the middle part of the tip thicker.
09:14The upper part of the tip is as it is here.
09:17No matter how much I increase it, the middle part of the tip will be thicker.
09:21But as soon as I close this Close Tip,
09:24now it will increase the entire part from the top to the bottom.
09:30If I increase it here, then you will see how I can increase my hair here.
09:37And wherever I need it, I can use it there.
09:41And if I tick this Close Tip here,
09:44then my upper part will be locked,
09:47and only the middle part will increase in thickness here.
09:51So this tip works exactly like this.
09:54Simply, if we remove it from Close,
09:57then our tip will start working in a different way.
10:01For now, I will click it on the tip here.
10:04So this was our hair shape.
10:07Now let's make something practical with the help of hair shape.
10:11We will make a solid sphere here.
10:13You can see that the points cut here are exactly like this.
10:17Here we will make a shape like this,
10:20in which we have a ball with a lot of points.
10:23Let's see how we will do it.
10:26So let's move ahead and go to our first practical.
10:30And I will delete this sphere here for now.
10:33And I will take a new sphere here.
10:35In this way, I will scale it a little and increase it here.
10:38And I will increase it a little here so that I can see it well.
10:42I will take it for the right and smoothen the shade here.
10:45Now I have to grow my hair here.
10:47I will simply click on the plus sign.
10:49And I will click on the hair on the side towards the end.
10:52So my hair will grow here.
10:54This time my hair is perfect.
10:56Because I have already clicked on the stripe in this curve here.
11:01If you have not done this,
11:03then first of all, you will get this by default select.
11:06You have to click on this stripe always.
11:08Only then your shape options will work here.
11:11So we have come to our particle system.
11:13So with the help of these shape options,
11:16we are now making thorns on this globe.
11:19First of all, let's see the thickness of these thorns.
11:22How much do we have to keep?
11:24With the help of this option diameter root,
11:26we can increase the thickness in this way.
11:29And if you want to reduce the length of it,
11:31then for this, I will make the hair length 1 meter like this.
11:35If 1 meter is a little less, then I will make it 1.5.
11:38It will be a little long.
11:40I can see a lot of width in this part,
11:42so I will reduce it a little more here.
11:44So these thorns are enough for me.
11:47The more I want, the more I feel in the thickness.
11:50Now let's come to our first point,
11:52that how do we keep the distribution of these hairs?
11:55Here you can see,
11:56randomly anything is going anywhere here.
11:59The best way to do this is that
12:01if I go to the scarlet mode,
12:04on all these vertices,
12:07if I grow each hair,
12:09that is, if I grow each keel,
12:11then it will be perfect for me here.
12:15So here you can see,
12:16randomly anything is going anywhere,
12:18so if I want to manage it,
12:20then first of all I have to go to emission here.
12:23And in emission, I will get an option here of source.
12:26I have to click on the source below.
12:28Here I can select whether I want to keep it in faces or vertices.
12:33So I will select vertices here.
12:35So you will see,
12:37how perfectly it will come to me here.
12:40One thing you always have to keep in mind is that
12:42all my vertices and faces here,
12:45the value of their hair should always be more in the number.
12:49As you can see here,
12:50my number is 1000.
12:52If I keep it less here,
12:54then you will see,
12:55randomly it will go away from me somewhere.
12:57So it should not be less than this.
12:59You have to keep it more than the number of vertices in it.
13:02If you want your model not to be too heavy,
13:05because the more numbers you increase here,
13:07the heavier your model will be.
13:10Because those thorns hide in it,
13:12but they work here.
13:14So we have a way to count perfectly how many vertices and faces are there.
13:21You have to go to this viewport overlays option.
13:25And here you will get an option of statistics.
13:29As soon as you click on it,
13:31you will see the option here on the side.
13:33And here you can see that whatever object you have selected,
13:37how many vertices, how much age and how many faces are present here.
13:41As I can see in this,
13:42there are 482 vertices in it.
13:45So I can keep one more here.
13:47That is, I can keep 500 here.
13:50And all my vertices will be covered here.
13:53But you can see,
13:54some vertices are still missing here randomly.
13:57The reason for that is that
13:58the random order I have selected here.
14:00This random order removes some vertices from here.
14:05But as soon as I remove the tick from here,
14:07now my random order is over from here.
14:10And all my vertices will be covered here.
14:13So in this way, all my vertices are covered here.
14:16And my object will not be heavy here either.
14:19If you keep this hair according to the number of vertices here.
14:23Now it comes to the point,
14:24if we want to increase or decrease the number of thorns we have made here,
14:29then how will we do that?
14:30Because if we reduce this number here,
14:32then it will disappear from some vertices.
14:35So the best way to do this is,
14:36if we want to reduce some vertices from here,
14:39or reduce the face from here,
14:41then we have a modifier called Decimate Modifier.
14:47By applying Decimate Modifier here,
14:50I can easily reduce or increase the number of thorns I have made here.
14:57Now let's see how this modifier will work in this.
15:01Let's come back to our particle system.
15:03So let's use Decimate Modifier here.
15:06And as soon as I select Decimate Modifier here,
15:09my modifier will be applied here.
15:11One thing I have always told you,
15:13that any modifier in this will only work in this.
15:17The first thing you have to do is,
15:19this modifier should always be above your particle system.
15:22And the second thing you have to do is,
15:24in the particle system where you have your hair settings,
15:27in the source, you will get this option,
15:30Use Modifier Stack.
15:31If you select the face here,
15:33then you will also get the Use Modifier Stack in the face.
15:36If you select it in the vertices,
15:38then you will get this option in the vertices.
15:40So as soon as you tick it here,
15:43then my Decimate Modifier will start working here.
15:50Until you tick it here,
15:52until you tick it here,
15:54this modifier will not work in this.
15:56So let's move ahead.
15:57First of all,
15:58if I want to reduce these thorns,
16:01then how will I do it?
16:02There is a very simple way for that.
16:04There is a ratio given here.
16:06With the help of this,
16:07we can reduce the face count here.
16:09Here you can see,
16:10the total face is showing me 512.
16:13If you look at the top side too,
16:15then the face count here is also showing me 512.
16:18Every vertex is covering one hair here.
16:22So as soon as I reduce this ratio,
16:25the face count will also start decreasing.
16:27That is, the vertices will also start decreasing.
16:29And my hair will also start decreasing along with it.
16:33It will come to you in an equal position.
16:36So you can reduce these thorns as much as you want from here.
16:40And you can increase these thorns as much as you want.
16:44So I reduce these thorns a little bit.
16:47Here you have to keep one thing in mind,
16:49that when you are reducing it here,
16:51then along with it,
16:52its face and vertices are also decreasing here.
16:55So you can manage it according to your needs.
16:57If you want to keep it round,
16:59then how much you want to keep it round
17:01and how many thorns you want to keep in it,
17:03according to that,
17:04you can reduce its vertices and face here.
17:07If you want to make it a little thicker again,
17:09then you can simply use the diameter.
17:11And here we will increase them in this way.
17:15So you can increase them as much as you want.
17:17In this way, your thorns will become thicker here.
17:21There is a limit to the diameter root.
17:23It will not go above 10 meters here.
17:25But the diameter scale,
17:27you can increase it as much as you want.
17:29With this, you can manage the thickness of your hair.
17:34So for now, I set it here as much as I want.
17:39This is enough for me here.
17:41So my globe is ready here.
17:44And if I want to use a material in this,
17:47then I can use the material from here.
17:50Simply give the color you want here.
17:53Any random color.
17:55And here you simply have to go to the particle system.
17:59And in the render option,
18:01you just have to select the material here.
18:04Your color will be highlighted here.
18:07If you want the material of the body below to be different
18:10and the material of the hair above to be different,
18:12then you always have to make a separate material for the hair.
18:15You have to give it a name, Hair.
18:17And as soon as you go to the particle system,
18:19here in the renders,
18:21you will select the hair.
18:23These hairs will change here in this way.
18:27And if you want to change the color of the globe here,
18:30then by selecting the old material here,
18:33you can give the color you want here.
18:36For now, I make it a steel material again.
18:40So in the shape of this steel material,
18:42I will see something like this here.
18:44If you want to use the HDRI image in this,
18:47then you can also use the HDRI image here.
18:50I have already made a video for this.
18:52You will get it in episode no. 50
18:54that how you can show light in the background here.
18:57So to show light in the background,
18:59first of all you have to go to the world.
19:01And in the world, you have to take an option here.
19:04By pressing the shift A button,
19:06environment texture.
19:08When you click on it,
19:10it will come in front of me in this way.
19:12As soon as you select the environment texture here,
19:15you will see that this color has come
19:17behind the whole globe of it.
19:19When our texture is missing,
19:21then our pink color comes.
19:23If we select an image here,
19:25then I have an HDRI image here.
19:27I will select it here.
19:29So you will see that the color
19:31that I have here will come here.
19:33If you want to remove the background behind,
19:35then simply a path option comes for it.
19:37Light path.
19:39You can use it here.
19:41And with this, you will have to take
19:43a mix shader.
19:45In this, you have to connect it
19:47with its factor simply.
19:49And in this, the thing you have
19:51connected, you have to connect it
19:53with the upper one.
19:57And this option, you have to
19:59connect it with the output.
20:01Your color will come here simply in the output.
20:03The light will be visible only in the output.
20:05It will not be visible in the background.
20:07If you remove it,
20:09then it will be visible in the whole background.
20:11If you want to change the color,
20:13then you can change the color of any material
20:15in this way.
20:17For now, I want to make it a little solid.
20:19So first of all, I will reduce
20:21the roughness of the globe inside
20:23so that it shines a little.
20:25And I will move this metallic
20:27a little forward
20:29so that it looks a little shiny to me.
20:31That is, the light in it
20:33should reflect a little.
20:35I will do the same thing here.
20:37I will reduce the roughness
20:39of these hair thorns.
20:41I will increase the metallic a little.
20:43You can reduce the color a little
20:45here in this way.
20:47And you can also reduce the color
20:49of these thorns a little.
20:51So in this way,
20:53your ball will be made here.
20:55If you want to make it a little more solid,
20:57then increase the material a little more.
20:59Make it metallic.
21:01You have to do the same process
