00:46piece stands and the answer is it's standing exactly 7 inches in height or
00:51Jason Voorhees is being brought to you at 18 centimeters tall I know I know I'm
00:56a little late to looking at this while u.s. collectors have had the joy being
01:00able to go to their local Walmart's and seeing a four-foot section of nothing
01:03but horror us Canadian collectors have been unfortunately denied I've checked
01:07around several Walmart's and I mean several of them before eventually just
01:11giving up and ordering this through eBay paying about the price of around
01:15$17 and I think when it was you know the conversion and the shipping and all that
01:18fun stuff behind it I think this end up being about $38 funny though enough that
01:23culture fly is also still selling a lot of their 3d posters over on their site
01:27for $25 but again with the exchange rate and the shipping I probably would be
01:32paying about the same price I think also in the Walmart's if correct me if I'm
01:36wrong did have Pennywise from the IT poster and yet though culture fly only
01:41shows Jurassic Park and Nightmare Before Christmas I would love to have gotten my
01:44hands on Nightmare Before Christmas sadly though it's sold out on their
01:47site needless to say though I'm sure one of the questions you guys probably would
01:51be asking is how does this scale with the ones that we were getting from
01:54McFarland toys way way back when well I'm gonna slide this one over and I'm
01:59gonna answer that right away by bringing in the Friday 13th the first Friday 13th
02:04brought to us from McFarland toys this was a line and I still feel this way
02:09that McFarland really should go back to the idea of producing 3d wall arts like
02:13this I mean they had produced what eight of them or so if I only have I had the
02:18alien Robocop Nightmare on Elm Street the Rocky Horror Picture Show was one I
02:22just recently picked up but they didn't have they hadn't put out many they had
02:26also have done the the poster album art as well but I think this this is
02:30honestly something I really really feel strongly like Todd and his team should
02:33really go back to when you're though comparing it though to the new one that
02:37we get from culture fly obviously it'll be really hard to put this to side by
02:41side and expect that they're gonna be of the same size in fact the one that we're
02:45getting here from culture fly is only about two-thirds the height of the one
02:48that we got from McFarland toys so you're one of the lucky ones that found
02:52this at your local Walmart you brought this home you've opened up the box and
02:55you want to display the Friday 13th part 3 3d movie poster on your wall hold on
02:59just before you do that you want to make sure that you remove the blood tray
03:02that's sitting inside the corner flap of the front of the box the box itself one
03:07thing I really like that culture fly is done is they've given it a kind of a
03:10retro look but not that necessarily this looks like an old VHS box that you would
03:14see at a strip plaza video store but actually you know what it looks more
03:18like one of those packages of blank VHS tapes a 3-pack a 6-pack or dare I even
03:23say a 10-pack I had a friend in fact that his entire movie library was
03:27nothing but just recorded off of TV movies he was so dedicated in fact he
03:31would actually go and pause the movie at the time was the commercials his best
03:35person really go over to his house because a lot of times people just
03:37didn't care you'd have to record and you have to fast-forward through all the
03:40commercials to get to the next part of the movie this guy was a guy that was
03:43dedicated he would pause it every single time a commercial would come but
03:46his entire wall was nothing like these well basically just a whole bunch of
03:49these the back of the box by the way as well shows you that this can hang on
03:53your wall but the thing I wanted to show you though was inside the box which
03:56seems by the way to be a magnet so there's no way to open up the front
04:00flap there was though a little blood tray on the inside here I've already
04:03taken the liberty of removing I'll show you guys how that installs in a second I
04:05do like though that if you really wanted to you could display the Friday 13 3d
04:10poster inside the box you don't have to have displayed loose obviously from the
04:14purpose of my own collection I really will end up displaying it probably on my
04:18desk I don't think I'll be hanging this from the wall I don't even know I haven't
04:21decided yet but I'm gonna move this out of the way I wanted to show you though
04:23the blood tray inside that flap was a little tray that actually housed two
04:28things the blood that sits inside the D and then the blood that tricks down from
04:32the end of the knife when removing this don't do what I was doing when I was as
04:37a kid building up models you know if you got yourself like a plastic tray of
04:40parts you usually just twist it was I the only one that did that you just
04:43twist the part and eventually would just come off because the parts were
04:46basically as the same size I mean like look at the part that comes from the
04:49blade it's about the same size of the strands of the plastic that's keeping it
04:53in place so I wanted to be careful because I didn't want to break those
04:55what I did instead was I just took my clips and I just clipped the ends and
04:59clip the top to clip the bottom till eventually I just took those pieces off
05:01that way it was clean I didn't have to worry about breaking into plastics the
05:05plastic is thin it's pretty bendable as well I don't know how many times I would
05:10really want to do this I think really once I've got this on the post post the
05:14first time that's the only time I'm gonna ever really take these off I feel
05:18in a way that culture fly should have really just had the pieces already built
05:21onto this I mean there's a little drip that's coming down from the shower head
05:24of the shower you would think if they could do that then they could have
05:28easily just attached these pieces onto the knife and onto the D you get one
05:32piece that's longer that's gonna be the part that drips from the blade and then
05:35you get the little shorter piece that's gonna be the part that goes around the
05:38D I found this was the harder of the two if you're looking at this for example so
05:42this is gonna it attaches just to the end of the blade I don't know if you
05:46guys can see it there's a little notch if I right there see that there's a
05:51little notch if you look at actually the little trickle there's a little see a
05:56little nip of plastic that sticks up everything else is sort of smooth so you
06:00see right there okay you guys can see it I'm gonna do this one first because I
06:03find it's easiest just to have this upside down if you line everything up
06:06and I've done this now a couple of times because first of all I did want to take
06:11this off to show you guys how it goes back on but once I've done this once the
06:15review is all recorded and it's up on YouTube there's no likelihood at all I'm
06:19ever gonna want to take this off again I mean it's not the hardest thing
06:23necessarily to get in place but the time that once you've done it you're never
06:27gonna want to do it again so that's how it attaches and that was a lot easier
06:31now as expecting it basically just attaches in place when I first took this
06:34out there was no instructions I just assumed okay am I gonna have to glue
06:37these no you don't you don't have to glue this so that's a little blood
06:40that's gonna trickle down and then as it trickles it's gonna find its way
06:43settling onto the inside of the D see how there's a little slot like a little
06:47canal right there if you look at the if you look at the blood let's put this down
06:51for a second if you look at the blood see how there's see there's a little
06:56piece of plastic that sticks up it's right in the middle and again that's
07:00just gonna attach on to the D and again believe you me once I've done this the
07:05first time this has just because again like with recording I first put this on
07:10just to make sure I could get in place then I took them off and then of course
07:14the hardest thing then was to get them back in place but I I said to myself
07:17once I do this in the review these things are never gonna be coming off
07:20again the thing about it them the thing about it though is that they're not the
07:24things if you were to bump these the D's come off a couple of times luckily this
07:29part of the blood hasn't come off the thing unfortunately about it though is
07:31the way it trickles down I'm not gonna nickel and dime and pick pick part this
07:35because it's really just like a it's a 15 to 16 dollar collectible you would
07:38have found in stores I think for what it is it's a good-looking representation of
07:42the 3d movie poster of Friday 13th part 3 but like if I was to really be
07:46critical the blood I feel should have been a little bit straighter down the
07:49thing it was weird though is that they've taken the time to add the drip
07:53that's on the end of the showerhead this is all kind of a harder plastic
07:56could they not have just done something similar here to this and this where it
08:00would just saved you the hassle the time that was required to put this all in
08:04place that's the only luckily little bit of assembly that's required just before
08:09we actually look at the details though of the poster one thing I really like is
08:12that on the side of it it does actually say Friday 13th part 3 and then on the
08:16back it also has that as well there's a hanging hook here so if you want to get
08:21yourself like a thumbtack or a nail something you put on the wall you could
08:24use probably one of those 3m hooks I I'm never really one that kind of gets
08:28behind it behind the idea of using those because I always feel even though they
08:31tell you on the packaging they're strong they're gonna hold like a hundred pounds
08:35they seriously never gonna hold a hundred pounds but even though they hold
08:3715 pounds I always really worried that first of all it's gonna damage the wall
08:41and seconds probably gonna fall from the wall I'm probably just gonna use myself
08:43like a screw that's what I've been doing with the McFarland ones that's what I'm
08:46gonna be doing with these ones as well so it's a screw essentially is gonna sit
08:50on this and then that's gonna hang on your wall looking at the details though
08:54of the Friday 13th part 3 3d movie poster on the top we've got the new
08:58dimension in terror down below sort of that wood grain finish of the font of
09:02course like in the in the poster it's 3d depending on when you see the poster
09:06depending on what images you find online when you look up the poster sometimes
09:09the logo is down below here sometimes I've also seen at the top I think it
09:13probably makes the most sense that it's down below obviously because you want to
09:16have the blood dripping onto the D coloring though you've got Jason kind
09:21of sticking his knife through the shower curtain and I think it's a pretty good
09:24effect color wise though I don't think it matches a hundred percent to the
09:28poster again I don't want to be overly critical about this because the fact
09:32that culture fly even made these in the first place picking up sort of the rains
09:36that McFarland dropped years ago when he was first producing these I think it's
09:39pretty good the coloring I would say if the blue probably would be a little bit
09:42more coloring like it's got more of a greenish blue than what it is and in the
09:46poster you can very much see there's an outline around the statute character the
09:51blade looks good the hand as you can see isn't really quite the same color I
09:54think the hand actually should be a little bit more of a dark black I think
09:57the blades nicely painted got some airbrushing there of the black again you
10:01got the blood dripping down here the blood dripping onto the D there probably
10:04could have been a little bit of reflection on the blood but you know
10:06again for what it is I really like I really like this a lot it's heavy though
10:10I was surprised this feels like plastic and of course the main frame the main
10:15actual box of this is all done in plastic but things like a shower head
10:19seem like it's a little bit more it's that kind of plastic that worries you
10:22that when you flick it it feels like that kind of plastic that would break
10:26if you're not careful so things right away like the little drip the little
10:30drop of water that's coming down from the shower head would be something I'm
10:33sure would break along with this and along with this but I think it's somewhat
10:37I think it holds pretty well it doesn't feel like necessarily it's gonna teeter
10:42at all either so if you wanted to put this on your desk for example or if you
10:45don't even want to hang this you know with the Friday 13th ones that we were
10:48getting from Todd and his team I was hanging those really primarily on my
10:51wall but really those two you could hang them or just you could really have them
10:55on also on your desk lines lot ones like the nightmare on Elm Street for example
10:59because you know Freddy's glove would be coming down in front of Nancy's head
11:02that would be right away snapped because there was that little glimmer of light
11:06on the ends of his blades that probably wouldn't be one that you would want to
11:08have on your desk but so for the most part I've only have them really hanging
11:11on the walls the thing that's a shame though is that knowing culture fly did
11:15these with like selecting very very specific movies and again they did like
11:20a Jurassic Park they did a I think they did an it's a nightmare in Elm Street a
11:24nightmare for Christmas and and then of course Friday 13th the thing about it
11:28though that's disappointing is I feel like they're probably not gonna run any
11:31further with this line that it's probably just gonna be like selecting
11:34random movies and then you're never gonna see any more of these it's a shame
11:37really because if culture fly not to make the assumptions that that's what
11:41they've got planned but I just feel like this won't be something that they're
11:44gonna continue to do a wave one a wave two wave three if it was another company
11:48like if it was tots for example trick-or-treat studios they're really
11:51good about kind of following a line through its lineage and doing more and
11:55more of them until they complete entire series of these culture fly I don't see
11:59the company really doing that I see if anything then producing like a one-time
12:03release of these and then you're probably never gonna see them again it's
12:06a shame though because while the construction and the assembly was a
12:09little bit more of a nightmare I think the end result though is that it's a
12:12nice display piece whether you display it on your wall or whether you display
12:16it on your desk look I don't want to turn the final looks of a culture fly
12:193d movie poster into a big long tangent but you know I am irked that my local
12:24Walmart's never even took the time to stock those four-foot horror sections
12:29that allow you u.s. collectors were able to find easily I know it took some time
12:33that some of the US guys out there some of their stores didn't get them right
12:37away but eventually they did and they had those pretty cool NECA like the
12:41trick-or-treater retro figures never saw them here that 3d movie posters when the
12:46way we looked at in this review never saw them here I checked six Walmart's
12:51ones first of all that were closer to my house then eventually I was branching
12:55off and I was just checking any Walmart's I came across and I went to the
12:58areas where I thought they would all be in the movie sections and sure enough
13:02nothing was stocked at all eventually I just gave up all hope and I looked
13:07online probably the first place and I I would imagine should have been really
13:11the last place that I looked was eBay sure enough they had it over on there I
13:16think for the price that I paid sixteen seventeen dollars wasn't all that bad
13:20really to get this I mean obviously I had the shipping and all the worries of
13:23all the additional charges over top of it I think when it was all in when I was
13:26all said and done probably dropped around 37 to 38 dollars for to get this
13:31to get my hands on this the thing about it though is that this should have been
13:34available at my local Walmart's right away and again again I don't know if it
13:39was just the decision and the company's part that Canadian stores just weren't
13:42gonna stock these but I think if you're gonna be advertising something as
13:46something that Walmart's gonna be known for having it should be in US stores and
13:50it should be in Canadian stores it should be in all stores that are Walmart
13:53stores it shouldn't be exclusive to certain areas looking at the actual
13:58statue for what it is it's obviously a little bit smaller it's a lot smaller
14:02than one one the way you got from McFarlane toys it's about two-thirds the
14:06height it still captures pretty much the essence of what McFarlane was doing
14:09before with his pop culture releases I feel like his were also pop culture a
14:14subcategory for what he was doing as well of course with what we get here from
14:18culture fly is only about like three or four posters I don't know what
14:23commitment they really have for long terms looking at these whether we are
14:26gonna be getting more Friday 13th's or they just hand selected hand-picked
14:30Friday 13th part 3d and that's the only other time we're ever gonna see a 3d
14:34movie poster in it I wish though it was the same size as McFarlane but
14:38McFarlane sort of went out the gate with pretty large collectibles anyways I
14:41couldn't expect from a certainly a store standpoint they'd be able to stock the
14:45shelves with as large of a 3d movie poster as what Todd and his team were
14:48doing before for a slightly smaller version it works pretty well things like
14:53adding the blood for example were a little more of a frustration but with a
14:56little bit of patience don't want to rush right into it if you're careful
15:00with what you do they attach okay they don't always stay in in place well but I
15:05think generally the end result is a nice-looking 3d movie poster one that I
15:08can only hope with fingers crossed that they're gonna want to produce at least
15:12more for moving moving forward have you guys had the chance to pick up the

15:38gonna be able to get them right now is if somebody's able to find them at the
15:41local Walmart let me know I'd be more than happy to pay for them or I'm gonna
15:46have to probably check on places like eBay if you guys in the meantime though
