Tom's Guide looks at some of the best Samsung TV ranges available from 4K OLED to 4K Neo QLED's.

Maybe you'll even consider a lifestyle TV or a show-stopping 8K Mini LED screen. Between the S95D, QN90D, The Frame 2024, and the QN900D there are several options to to consider.

00:00If you're going to be on the hunt for a new TV this year, Samsung TVs will inevitably come up
00:05on your search. I'm here checking out some of Samsung's best TVs for 2024 to help you decide
00:10which one might be right for you. Starting off with the Samsung TV that I think most people
00:16will care about this year, the Samsung S95D OLED TV. This is Samsung's QD OLED TV that's a refresh
00:24of the S95C. I actually gave five stars last year due to its great design and performance.
00:30The biggest change for this version is this sort of matte-like treatment that Samsung calls
00:35glare-free OLED. OLED TVs can suffer from some distracting glare which is why I don't typically
00:41recommend them to those who are buying a TV for a room with lots of natural lighting or for those
00:46who just like to watch TV with the lights on. So in many ways this does feel innovative and I could
00:51even argue that this is one of the most standout OLED innovations we've seen in recent years. And
00:57the best part is that it doesn't come at the compromise of picture quality the same way that
01:01it does for the frame TV. But I'll talk more about that a bit later on in this video. Back to the S95D,
01:07the thin 11 millimeter chassis and the central stand are simple yet premium looking. But the
01:13most standout part of the design is definitely the One Connect box. The One Connect box offloads all
01:19the ports into this separate unit that can be stored out of sight, say in a cabinet, and that
01:24way you're just not having to see as many of the cables giving you a cleaner overall entertainment
01:29setup. And paired with the 144 hertz refresh rate, Samsung Gaming Hub, and the new AI auto genre
01:36detection mode available through Game Bar, this is probably the best option for gaming in Samsung's
01:412024 lineup. If there's one downside for me it's that the TV doesn't have Dolby Vision HDR support
01:47though that's annoyingly the case for all Samsung TVs. Speaking of Samsung TVs, the S95D and all the
01:54other TVs you'll see in this video have Samsung's Smart TV platform. You're not going to see very
01:59many differences set to set, but you will get access to all the biggest streaming platforms
02:04as well as some free content through Samsung TV Plus. All TVs also act as a hub for smart things
02:10and controlling your smart home devices. Besides the S95D, the other 2024 Samsung TV to pay
02:16attention to is the QN90D Neo QLED TV. Now there was a time when Samsung wasn't doing OLED TVs,
02:24so the Mini LED 4K TVs seemed a lot more exciting. Although this still is a premium tier TV, this TV
02:32tends to perform extremely well in our testing year after year and it also is usually one of
02:37the brightest TVs to come along our bench. But the big story with this set, the QN90D, is AI.
02:44It has AI upscaling, AI sound and voice amplifications, AI picture customization based
02:49on your preferences, and other optimizations. But unlike the S95D, the QN90D doesn't have the one
02:55connect box. All the ports are off to the side. It also has this oddly shaped base. I'm not saying
03:01that's a deal breaker, especially if you plan to mount it to the wall. And compared to the OLED
03:06lineup, you'll get a lot more flexibility in terms of screen sizes. With Samsung's 4K Neo QLED TVs
03:12for 2024, you'll have a greater range of choices to find the one that best fits your room.
03:18For those who really care about the design of the TV, perhaps even more so than the actual TV
03:23watching experience, the Frame 2024 might be the best pick for you. It has this matte display that
03:30takes what would be just a boring black screen up on your wall into something that looks, well,
03:35museum worthy. Although this unit here doesn't have the ornate bezels that Samsung sells,
03:40we got to see some of the styles back at CES, so I definitely recommend checking out that video.
03:45But bezel or not, you can display a complete montage of artworks. The Samsung artwork has
03:52over 2,500 pieces of art available for purchase, but new for this year, there are actually 20
03:58curated picks available each month completely for free. We love that. Otherwise, you could
04:03always upload your own picks to make it work like your own digital photo frame. Either way,
04:09when the TV is in art mode, the refresh rate will kick down from 120Hz to 60Hz, which is great
04:14from an energy conservation standpoint. Now, the best way to experience the Frame TV is to mount
04:19it up on your wall. We have it on the included feet right here, but I'm sure you can imagine it.
04:25It has the One Connect box, as well as what Samsung calls the One Invisible Connection Cable.
04:30That just helps with cable management. This probably is one of the TVs that's more amenable
04:35to having a cable-free look. But if you really want to take your setup to the next level,
04:40Samsung has just released the all-new Music Frame. The Music Frame isn't a digital frame
04:46like the TV, but you can put your own photos in, swap them out whenever you want,
04:51mount it to the wall, and then it can act as the subwoofer for your Frame TV, or you can just use
04:56it as a Bluetooth speaker if you want some tunes to go along with your art. On the flip side,
05:02if you care about the quality of the content you're watching more than anything,
05:06Samsung's flagship 8K Neo QLED TV, the QN900D, makes a very attractive pitch. If you were
05:13thinking of getting a 75-inch TV, an 85-inch TV like this one, or even larger, 8K upscaling can
05:20help with image sharpness for these large screens. Watching here for a bit, the upscaling is solid.
05:26It's not this drastic, life-changing experience, but it does feel quite cinematic. Pair that with
05:31the One Connect box, a chassis that's just 13 millimeters wide, and these metallic details,
05:36and you get a very sleek-looking package. So we looked at a 4K OLED TV, a Mini-LED TV,
05:42a Lifestyle TV, and an 8K TV. These aren't the only TVs that Samsung has for 2024, but it's
05:49definitely the best sampling of what's going to be on the market, should you be interested in
05:54picking up one for yourself. Let me know which one catches your eye the most in the comments
05:59section of this video. You can also see more behind-the-scenes with these TVs on all of our
06:04socials at Tom's Guide. And as always, I'm at Kate Kozich. Thanks for watching, I'll catch you next time.
