Following her victory at Miss Universe, Chelsi Smith hosted the Soul Train Music Awards in 1995. She made her acting debut in the television series Martin, Due South and the film Playas Ball. She co-hosted the pay-per-view special Beyonce: Family and Friends with Beyoncé Knowles and appeared on HBO's One Flight Stand with Marc Blucas and Aisha Tyler. She also wrote and performed the song "Dom Da Da," which appeared on the soundtrack to the film The Sweetest Thing. She died on September 8, 2018, at the age of 45, from liver cancer.
