00:00Protect yourself at all time, obey my command at all times.
00:03Protect yourself at all times, protect yourself at all times. Let's go, shake them up.
00:06One more. Good luck.
00:07Go, go!
00:09One is nicknamed the Ghost, Tomás Chabot.
00:13This young man, over a hundred fans, rent buses and made the trip from his hometown.
00:19And then you have across the ring, the man known as El Carnicero, the butcher.
00:25And you know why that is, Tim?
00:26Why?
00:26Because he works at the local slaughterhouse in Cobb and General Daniel Querrey in Argentina.
00:33Dude, he just landed a straight right hand right out the gate.
00:36Guinevere ain't playing.
00:37Yeah, the butcher, absolutely.
00:39Well, he wants to butcher the Ghost.
00:41Forget the numbers.
00:42I'm just letting you know, this young man, Guinevere, he's battle-tested.
00:44And he's gonna test Chabot tonight.
00:48He really is.
00:49He landed two right hands already.
00:52You know what to do against the Southpaw.
00:54I always tell you guys at home,
00:56get that outside foot positioning.
00:58You want to line up that right hand.
01:03Another thing you got to be careful of is head clashes.
01:07Another thing you got to be careful of, excuse me.
01:10And you see the open stance battle that Tim always talks about.
01:14And the reason Guinevere got this fight is because he gave Avery Duvall,
01:18the unbeaten fighter out of Canada, a great fight in September of 2022.
01:24Hurt Duvall in round three.
01:26The crowd booed the hometown decision.
01:28So this kid is tough.
01:29Yes, he is very tough.
01:30But he's been out of the ring for 11 months.
01:33429 days.
01:34Yeah, exactly.
01:35So a little rust.
01:37And that's the shot I was just going to say.
01:39Watch that looping left hand coming from Chabot.
01:41Because Guinevere is walking straight towards that side.
01:45Straight towards that looping left hand.
01:47And occasionally you will see him drop that right hand a bit.
01:50And if he drops at the wrong time,
01:52he can get clipped with that right hand on the temple or on the chin.
01:54And he's going to get knocked out.
01:55Good defensive responsibility so far from Guinevere.
01:58He was able to partially deflect that overhand left from Chabot.
02:02But it's there for him.
02:04So it's going to be a right hand against a left hand battle.
02:06But it's funny because he's moving the wrong way.
02:08He's moving into it.
02:09He's moving right into the left hand.
02:11However, he's still having success in finding ways to be able to throw that right hand and land it.
02:19Nice short right hook now from Chabot.
02:22Yeah, Chabot, he's physically strong.
02:24You can tell.
02:25Very conditioned athlete.
02:27Can't get away from right hands.
02:28However, he's going to continue to press forward.
02:30Let him go.
02:31Let him go.
02:31Get inside of Guinevere's wheelhouse.
02:37That's where he wants to operate.
02:38He wants to operate inside that pocket.
02:40My goodness.
02:42You're so correct, man.
02:43He cannot get away from that right.
02:46And that's dangerous against a fighter like Guinevere.
02:49He's got five knockouts and ten victories.
02:51So half of his wins have come by knockout.
02:54And if you give him an opening, he's going to go for it.
02:58Like that.
03:00But Chabot is trying to land that overhand left.
03:03He's got a thirst for it now.
03:05Sooner or later, he's going to land it.
03:08He's got to get away from those rights at some point.
03:11But he's varying his punch selection now as Chabot throwing that right hook as well.
03:15Yeah, it's starting to turn into a good inside fight right now.
03:17Both guys are fighting for position.
03:20With a middleweight plan.
03:20He's coming back with his offense.
03:22He came to fight.
03:24Definitely came to fight tonight.
03:28All right.
03:28Mark Chanook is not only our ring announcer tonight.
03:31He is our French translator for the corner of Thomas Chabot.
03:36Deep breaths.
03:42You got to get off the line.
03:44Keep your distance.
03:52Stay off the line.
03:54And keep watching for that right hand.
03:57You're standing in front of his right hand the entire round.
04:03You know what to do.
04:04Let's give him some water.
04:11Box smart.
04:12Stay off the line.
04:14All right.
04:15Good start.
04:22Keep it up.
04:23Let's go.
04:24All right.
04:24Mark Chanook was Timon in the Lion King.
04:29And we would love to hear the translation next round in Timon voice.
04:34But I think we got to pay extra for that.
04:36You're going to chip in, Tim?
04:39All right.
04:43You know what the corner forgot to tell Chabot is.
04:46Relax.
04:47You have time.
04:49Don't rush things.
04:50Set everything up off your jab.
04:52Use your fundamentals.
04:53Use your basics.
04:54You're going to get to where you get to eventually.
04:57But you can't be taking those punches.
04:59Especially those right hands.
05:00Cleanly right down the middle like that.
05:03Nice combination there from Chabot.
05:05And then a short right hook to punctuate that three-punch combination.
05:09What Guetemel is doing, he's just looking for an opportunity.
05:12Any low points in the offense of Chabot, he's looking for opportunities to land that right
05:16hand right there.
05:17Any distance created between them, he's looking for that shot.
05:20However, Chabot's starting to land that right hook on the inside.
05:23Ooh, that's a vicious body shot right there on the inside for Chabot.
05:26Both these guys just trading leather.
05:29They're getting after it.
05:30Not wasting any time getting familiar, familiarized with each other.
05:36Nice body shot there from Guetemel.
05:40Nice uppercut there from Chabot.
05:42That one was the one that got through.
05:44And it wasn't an overhand shot.
05:46It was a left uppercut.
05:47Short and crisp.
05:48That's up.
05:48Let's go.
05:49Right on the chin, too.
05:52Good action here so far through the first two rounds.
05:56It's the crowd getting into it here as Chabot feeling the love.
06:01The crowd getting into it here as Chabot feeling the love.
06:05Look, Chabot has a made up mind.
06:07He coming.
06:07He just coming for war.
06:10He's not taking his time at all.
06:11He's getting right to the action.
06:14Nice body shot from Guetemel.
06:17I mentioned he works at the butcher shop from 6 a.m. to 10.30.
06:21Then goes grab something to eat.
06:24Goes for a run.
06:25Hits the gym in the evening.
06:27Does it all over again.
06:29Yeah, the difference is just the physical strength of Chabot.
06:32That's what I'm seeing, especially on the inside.
06:34You see his punches are a lot heavier than Guetemel.
06:38Guetemel is trying.
06:38He's landing his offense.
06:40He's better when he's out at distance.
06:41But in close, right there in close quarters, it's a dangerous zone for him.
06:46Because of the strength of Chabot.
06:50There you see the punch output of Chabot.
06:53Just, oh, that was a little low.
06:54But then a nice right hook to the body.
06:58From the Canadian.
07:00That uppercut is his money shot.
07:03That's the one that can do the most damage to Guetemel.
07:14Four-inch reach advantage from Chabot here.
07:18And he's using all of that.
07:19Ooh, that was low.
07:25Yeah, but the head clash didn't hurt as much as a low blow.
07:29According to the reaction of Guetemel.
07:32Let's check out this shot here.
07:36Just step back.
07:36Nice little pull.
07:37No, that's a fair blow.
07:39That's a clean shot right there on Guetemel.
07:43Yeah, that was a clean shot.
07:44Right on the belt line.
07:45Right on the belt line.
07:47Another great body shot there from Chabot.
07:50That's been the revelation of the second round.
07:54And speaking of revelations.
07:56This young man, Abdullah Mason and the entire Mason clan.
08:00There's a reason that he's atop Tim Bradley's double stamp prospects list.
08:05Can you explain exactly why Abdullah is numero uno?
08:10Determination, skill, ring IQ, and self-belief.
08:16You know, when I sparred Terrence Crawford years ago.
08:18One of the things that stood out to me was those things.
08:21But when I was in there and anytime I stepped up or raised my level.
08:26Of intensity.
08:27He stepped up and raised his.
08:28Usually fighters mentally kind of break down.
08:31They respect the champion.
08:32Well, Crawford didn't respect me at all.
08:36He took it up another level, another notch.
08:38And he just kept rising.
08:39Every time I would rise and get better, he would rise.
08:41That's what I see in this young man right here.
08:43You know, any challenge, any competition.
08:46When he moves up in class and he faces a world champion.
08:50Guess what?
08:50He's going to rise his game.
08:52I think he's a special fighter.
08:53You know, I can't wait till he steps up in the competition to be able to show it.
08:57But man, what I see right now, I love what I see from him.
08:59And the reality is.
09:01Power, reaction, everything.
09:02He does want all that smoke.
09:04He does have an appetite for the smoke.
09:06And he will continue to ask for the bigger and better fights.
09:10Can't wait to see the progression of Abdullah Mason.
09:13He will be coming up here in five fights.
09:18Right before Oslay Siglesias.
09:19Another great fighter from the Southpaw stance with devastating punching power.
09:24Before we move over to ESPN.
09:26Bernardo Osuna alongside double Hall of Famer Timothy Bradley.
09:31International Boxing Hall of Fame.
09:32Nevada Boxing Hall of Fame.
09:34And with the translations for this fight.
09:37Oh, that's a big shot right there from Shabbat.
09:41Shabbat has broke him down little by little each round.
09:44You know, the pace has been high from the beginning, from the opening bell.
09:48You know, Guinevere has been trying to fight back, man.
09:51But he doesn't have enough firepower to keep Shabbat up off of him.
09:56Those are the type of shots that you hear the Osuna.
09:58But that's a beautiful counter right hand from Guinevere.
10:01That's his kryptonite so far for Shabbat.
10:06You know, and I judge a fighter a lot of the times by his defense.
10:10How he behaves after his offense.
10:12You know, Shabbat, good power.
10:14But he doesn't think about returning fire.
10:16He stays there.
10:17Keeps his head directly on the line.
10:18He's trying to move his head and be elusive now, which is good.
10:21However, he's gotten hit cleanly with the same shot, the same right hand.
10:26I think that's the worrisome part is you can get hit by different shots.
10:29Yeah.
10:29But you can't get hit by the exact same shot.
10:32Especially when it's the only weapon your opponent has.
10:35Absolutely.
10:35I agree with you wholeheartedly.
10:39Oh, there it is again.
10:41Partially blocked, but it sounded nasty.
10:48Yeah, Shabbat did a good job right there.
10:49Just tightening his guards up right there on the inside to catch that right hand.
10:53Now he's starting to catch and shoot on the inside.
10:56What that means is he's catching the shot that's being blocked.
10:58And then he's coming back with offense.
11:01So if his opponent shoots a left hand, he's going to come back on the same side.
11:06He's going to block it and come back with the same punch from that side.
11:11That's another shot down the pipe.
11:14Could have been a little low.
11:16Shabbat.
11:20Oh, that body shot with the right hook from Shabbat.
11:23Doing damage.
11:25Yep, Shabbat's starting to have a little fun in there.
11:28You know, and when a fighter starts to have fun, he becomes real dangerous.
11:32Yep.
11:32Starting to get loose and relaxed and comfortable.
11:37Good roll on the inside.
11:37Oh, there's a cut now on the forehead of Shabbat.
11:39It had to happen.
11:41It happens a lot with orthodox and southpaw fighters.
11:43Their head clashes.
11:46Let's see how he reacts to the blood now.
11:49Nice body work there from Shabbat.
11:53Straight left from Shabbat here to close out this third round.
12:02Take a look at that cut.
12:05Laszlo Mariem worked on that.
12:10You look great.
12:14Give me your mouthpiece.
12:15Take a deep breath.
12:16Relax.
12:26Mid-range.
12:27You've got to stay in your mid-range and keep moving.
12:30All right, let's take a look at the effectiveness of the right hand from Guenemy.
12:36Just on the inside, Guenemy just taking his time.
12:38Loaded up right there.
12:39You saw the lead hand just to measure.
12:42Coming around that guard.
12:44Shabbat leaned right into it.
12:45He was throwing a right hook himself.
12:47It's a 50-50 exchange right here, and guess who got the better of it?
12:50Guenemy.
12:52Beautiful punch right there.
12:53But I'm just wondering what opened up those cuts around the bridge of the nose
12:57and also on the forehead of Shabbat.
13:01I don't think it was a punch.
13:02It might have been some head clashes right there.
13:04But beautiful right hand right there from Guenemy.
13:07Both guys exchanging heavy leather thus far.
13:10Yeah, it's an interesting series of cuts because it's on the bridge of the nose,
13:14but kind of coming towards the inside of the right eye of Shabbat.
13:18And then there's one right on the forehead.
13:20They did a good job of stopping the bleeding.
13:23And then a jab says,
13:25there's all your work, Mr. Cut Man.
13:29It's always good to have a great cut man in your corner.
13:32That could be the difference in a fight.
13:33Yeah.
13:34I mean, you get cut, a simple cut like that, you can get out of the line
13:38if you don't know what you're doing inside that corner.
13:41The corner of Guenemy saying,
13:45we don't want you to just stand there, get off the line.
13:47And that's what he was able to do when he landed that counter right hand.
13:51Got his head off the line and then landed.
13:53And you see the blood now coming down the face of Shabbat.
14:01We asked him in our fighter meetings, Jim Zeroli, our producer said,
14:06who's the most famous person to come out of Ted 4 Minds?
14:09He said, the Nordiques goalkeeper, Mario Gosselin.
14:13For now.
14:14For now.
14:17Big Contingent made the 77 mile drive to be here and support Thomas Shabbat.
14:28I think the fans definitely will appreciate the style of Shabbat.
14:32You know, we're moving in a new era.
14:34You know, it's no longer, you know, Floyd Mayweather defense.
14:38It's about action.
14:39People want to see action nowadays.
14:43Shabbat definitely has that action-packed style.
14:48Watch your head.
14:48Stop diving with your head.
14:50Bucks.
14:59Guenemil has slowed down.
15:02That could be due to his inactivity.
15:05You know, when you're inactive,
15:07you're not getting better physically.
15:10You know, when you're in training camps,
15:12back-to-back training camps, and you come and fight,
15:16that's when you're your sharpest.
15:17But when you're off for 11 months,
15:21definitely some of your conditioning has gone.
15:26You can see Shabbat doing good work here.
15:29But, you know, a lot of times we talk about ring rust,
15:32and Guenemil didn't have a ring rust.
15:34It was the opposite for him.
15:35He came out strong,
15:36but then it was a conditioning question here in the fourth round.
15:39Well, usually when fighters, they come out strong,
15:42they usually fade in the middle,
15:43and then towards the end, they'll pick it up.
15:46But if Guenemil was to slow down early on,
15:49he could have picked it up in the middle
15:51and could have finished strong.
15:52All right.
15:52Tonight's main event features Christian and Billy,
15:55top three contender across all organizational bodies
15:58in the super middleweight division.
15:59But there's still much to learn about the unique journey
16:02that Billy took to get to this stage.
16:05Oh.
16:12Welcome to Top Ring.
16:13Thank you very much.
16:15My name is Christian Nbili.
16:18I'm from France.
16:19I was born in Cameroon.
16:21My mother decided to bring us in France to have a better life
16:26because she doesn't have a lot of opportunity in Cameroon.
16:31She wanted a better future for us.
16:35I discovered boxing in France when I was 15 years old.
16:43I decided to start boxing because I needed to protect myself.
16:47I don't have a big brother,
16:50and I was in a difficult, difficult town.
16:54I needed to know how to defend myself.
17:01I mean, for Mark Ramsey, who's got a great eye for talent,
17:05when he saw him as an amateur, not winning medals.
17:09There was Sissoko there.
17:11There was Tony Yoka winning medals.
17:13And he said, this kid, though, could be the next Azuma Nelson.
17:18The greatest African fighter we've ever seen.
17:20That's high praise, Tim.
17:22It definitely is high praise.
17:23And you know, Mark Ramsey, he has an eye.
17:26Yes.
17:26And it's a certain style that he looks for, too.
17:29You know, it's a certain type of toughness he looks for.
17:31You know, he likes that mid-range to inside type of,
17:34you know, combat.
17:36And that's what Mbile brings.
17:41He will be in our main event.
17:42The biggest test to date against Sergei Derevyanchenko.
17:47With Emil mixing it up, going upstairs and downstairs with the right hand.
17:52Most of Mark Ramsey's, his stable.
17:57They can punch.
17:58Yes.
17:58He loves punchers.
17:59That's what he loves.
18:01Mbile, Bazinyan, you've got Osles Iglesias, who we're going to get a good look at tonight.
18:07And he had a devastating knockout last time out.
18:10Yeah, he looks promising.
18:11A scary one.
18:12He looks promising.
18:13He really does.
18:13He has a victory against David Morales and the amateurs.
18:16And he just had the misfortune of being part of the generation that included three-time
18:22Olympian, two-time world champion, and now he's in the top three.
18:25And he's got a lot of experience.
18:26Of being part of the generation that included three-time Olympian, two-time gold medalist,
18:31Arlen Lopez.
18:32So the Cuban delegation would put all their eggs in the Arlen Lopez basket and let him
18:39fester away.
18:40That's why he ended up defecting.
18:41We'll get more into that story when we have Osles Iglesias on the card later on tonight.
18:48Wonderful kid too.
18:49Yes, he is.
18:51Right shots from Juan Emil.
18:54The left from Chabot.
18:56Neither can miss with their money shots.
19:00I'm returning to somewhat of a phone booth type of fight right in the center of the ring.
19:09Juan Emil is making this fight very interesting.
19:12No, he's fighting back.
19:13He's fighting back in spurts.
19:16He's catching.
19:17Oh, that's the shot I told you.
19:19I heard him.
19:19And now you see Juan Emil is in bad shape.
19:22He's got a lot of heart.
19:23But Juan Emil is going to have to weather this storm for the last 45 seconds of this
19:28fifth round.
19:28And he gets tagged with another left.
19:31Juan Emil got a chin on him and he's determined.
19:34You saw his legs buckle a little bit and you saw him fight out of it.
19:38He's like, I'm not going anywhere.
19:40I'm still here.
19:41I'm still hungry.
19:42I still want more.
19:43That toughness is real from Juan Emil.
19:45Yes, he thinks about his nine-year-old daughter Aisha and his two-year-old son Caleb
19:50in those moments.
19:51And that's what keeps him going inside the ring.
19:53But you remember early on when I said that looping left hand is going to be a key weapon.
19:58And it happened right now because Juan Emil is walking to his right, towards that left
20:03hand.
20:04And he's going to drop that backhand.
20:08You always want to walk away from your opponent's power.
20:10And Juan Emil is walking right into the power of Tomas Chabot.
20:16And we are five rounds in to this schedule day round.
20:19Let's listen in to Dario Armando Fernandez.
20:24Don't fall asleep on the ropes.
20:28Why do you pause so much?
20:30Damn it.
20:31You hear me?
20:33Don't pause.
20:34You're working well.
20:37Are you dead?
20:38Then what's wrong?
20:46I don't want you to tell me later, hey, I had a little bit left in the tank.
20:50If you want, I'll pull you out of this fight.
20:53No.
20:57All right, take a look at what was so effective from Chabot.
21:01Look at Juan Emil as he's walking right, walking right into the power hand along the rope,
21:06standing straight up.
21:07Watch this looping.
21:08Yep, he ran right into it.
21:10Never saw it coming.
21:12He just dropped his right hand, his backhand.
21:15Ever so slightly.
21:16That's all you need.
21:17A little space of opportunity.
21:19Eight ounce gloves we're talking about.
21:21All you need is a little space to be able to land a shot like that on the chain
21:25and get your opponent's attention.
21:26And it was a follow-up shot that did the most damage from Chabot.
21:31Nice right hand once again from Juan Emil.
21:33Let's see how the motivation from his makeshift trainer Dario Fernandez works for Juan Emil
21:38because his original trainer for Argentina, Adriana Costa, did not make the trip to Canada with him.
21:44So he's just getting help from a local guy, but doesn't help him get away from that left.
21:49And not once, Timothy, say walk to the other direction, away from the power.
21:53Well, I mean, you being a fighter and having the experience that you have with Juan Emil,
21:57you gotta know to go the opposite way.
21:59You have to go the opposite way if you keep getting hit on one side.
22:03That should be natural.
22:04That should be a natural instinct.
22:07If I go down the street and a dog chase me, you think I'm gonna go down the street again?
22:10Absolutely not.
22:11Oh heck no, I'm going the opposite corner.
22:14At some point, you gotta be responsible for yourself, right?
22:18All right, he's hit me with that since round one.
22:20Or at least get underneath it and set him up with something.
22:24You can walk that way, but use it to your advantage.
22:26Know that's the shot he's looking for, and then use it against him.
22:30So what is a safe way to walk towards your opponent's power?
22:35At the right distance.
22:36Okay.
22:36It's the right distance.
22:37But the problem is he's at mid-range.
22:39So if you're out at the right distance, if you're outside to where he can't hit you,
22:44then you're fine.
22:44You can walk away.
22:45You can walk towards his power all you want.
22:47But if you're standing mid-range, you gotta expect that shot to come,
22:51and you gotta anticipate it and do something about it.
22:54Yeah, plus the fact that he's giving up four inches in reach to Shabbat.
22:59I mean, that's a bad combination for him.
23:02Yeah, because that allows Shabbat to set up a shot a little further out and not get hit.
23:06Nice left uppercut from Shabbat, switching things up.
23:09But it's always with the left.
23:13Guadamys lost all effectiveness with his right hand now,
23:15because he's letting Shabbat just dictate the pace.
23:19Yeah, he's definitely broken down.
23:21He slowed down a bit.
23:22You know, his activity is, you heard his corner saying,
23:24man, what's going on?
23:25Why are you freezing?
23:26I'm tired, man.
23:28You know, I'm tired.
23:29That's what it is.
23:30I'm not freezing.
23:31He's freezing me with that left.
23:33And, you know, he's been digging into my body since the first round.
23:38Starting to slow down.
23:42He's taken a lot of damage thus far.
23:44I just heard from the corner, Dario Armando Fernandez saying,
23:47you've got to walk towards your left, which means away from the power hand of Shabbat.
23:53But then, again, the distance, the right distance, the right range,
23:56you've got to do that as well.
23:58I mean, if you're too close, you'll get hit with the right hook.
24:01This has been the way the fight's been playing out since the opening round.
24:16Left hand from Shabbat.
24:18Right hand from Guenemil.
24:20More from Shabbat than from Guenemil.
24:26Let's go.
24:28Good round.
24:29Better round.
24:31Take a deep breath.
24:34Take deep breaths.
24:48Listen, you've got to keep moving your feet.
24:50Stay active.
24:54How are you feeling?
24:57The left hand, it's like medicine he's been eating all day.
25:00He's spamming that left hand.
25:02I mean, my opponent can't get away from it.
25:04I'm going to just keep throwing that thing over and over and over,
25:07and it's coming around that guard.
25:08It doesn't matter if Guenemil, if he keeps that right hand,
25:12if he keeps it slightly moving forward, guess what?
25:14He can come around it.
25:15If he doesn't hold the phone, he can come on the inside.
25:17I mean, that shot right there, the deadly shot against a right-handed
25:21or orthodox fighter, that looping left hand.
25:24And you don't want to know one else thing?
25:27The same shot could be landed for Guenemil as well.
25:30That looping shot.
25:31That's a shot that I don't believe that he's thrown just yet.
25:33He's been throwing a straight right hand down the middle.
25:35He'd make surprise.
25:36He could surprise Shabbat if he loops that right hand.
25:39Hey, you just gave me the beast mode analysis on what Shabbat is doing.
25:45Hit a dude in the face over and over and over and over and over until he don't want it anymore.
25:55Marshawn Lynch, the man, the myth, the legend.
26:00Stealing a golf cart in the middle of the count.
26:03Oh, and he just did it.
26:05And he just did it.
26:05He must have heard me.
26:07Over and over and over.
26:14And he switched it up on us.
26:16Don't push, don't push off, don't push off.
26:23See, body shot too from Shabbat.
26:25Yeah, I'm going to give a tip right now.
26:27See, what you got to understand is that the fundamentals you got to understand,
26:31you got to master the fundamentals right before you even create your style.
26:35And the reason I say that is there's an opportunity.
26:37You just know you got to just pay attention.
26:39If you level change and you see your opposition don't level change with you,
26:43if he don't drop his level, do you know that he doesn't know that fundamental?
26:47All right.
26:48So if Winnemill, if he was a level change, just to see, just to test.
26:53That's why you see guys like Lomachenko.
26:55They always level changing.
26:56You know, guys like Usyk always level changing,
26:59seeing if their opponent is going to drop with them.
27:01You can sneak them over the top.
27:02You can surprise them like you're going down to the body
27:05and come right over the top with something vicious.
27:09Great body work here from Shabbat in round number seven.
27:14We always talk about one thing, Tim.
27:16Guys are built to take head shots.
27:19And we see that Matias can take that.
27:22But the body work that Shabbat is doing here,
27:26that's going to be the big difference.
27:27Wow, nice right hand.
27:28You know, I'm impressed by both guys partying.
27:30You know, definitely, you know, both of these men,
27:32they do a lot of running, a lot of skipping rope, a lot of intervals.
27:36You know, you're seeing series of like combinations coming from both guys here and there.
27:41It's great work by both of these gentlemen.
27:44Winnemill's got three losses on his record.
27:47Never been stopped though.
27:49But that's the type of shot that could force the referee in this occasion,
27:54Alberto Petullo Jr., to step in.
27:56But he's got to follow it up.
28:00Those legs are heavy, you can tell.
28:02Those body shots have definitely paid good dividends for both fighters.
28:05They're just willing to stand and trade right inside the center of the ring.
28:08No one's really using their legs at great angles for themselves.
28:15Oh, a lot of weaving underneath, a lot of blocking shots,
28:19catch and shoot by Shabbat.
28:22Really good inside game by him.
28:24The busloads of folks that came from Thetford Mines, 77 miles away,
28:29enjoying what they're seeing from their fighter.
28:32Let's listen in to the corners.
28:37This is the last round.
28:40Listen to me, you have to find the strength from within.
28:45You've got to knock him out.
28:48Give him everything.
28:48If he's got to go, he's got to go.
28:52You hear me?
28:57This is your last round.
28:59There's nothing left.
29:05Give me everything you've got.
29:11Keep your jab going, and come around with the left.
29:15It's there all night, keep it up.
29:23Keep that jab, and then throw that left.
29:25It's there.
29:26Keep doing what you've been doing.
29:27You look great.
29:27How do you feel?
29:29Let's go.
29:32Keep those combinations going.
29:34You look great.
29:36Lazlo Marien and Francois Duguay are the two men who share the trainer duties with Shabbat,
29:43but it's Duguay who is doing the cutman work as well.
29:47He did an excellent job.
29:48Three cuts right above the bridge of the nose, and then two on the forehead.
29:53They never decided.
29:54Were they headbutts?
29:55Were they caused by punches?
29:57The referee never really illustrated what was the cause of the cuts.
30:01That's something that could be an issue down the line for us in another one of the fights,
30:07if that's not made clear.
30:09Absolutely.
30:10And it's not one, Tim.
30:11It's three cuts.
30:14Nice jab there from Shabbat.
30:18The corner of
30:29asking him to set him up for that overhand right, but he's got to throw it.
30:34But if he does, Tim, he's setting himself up to be countered like Shabbat just did.
30:38They're both countering each other.
30:41Really not much defense after their combinations.
30:43It's basically 50-50 exchanges inside the pocket,
30:46mid-range to inside.
30:50It's just a dogfight.
30:51That's all it is right now.
30:52No one's really thinking in there.
30:55What I like about Shabbat is that it's controlled aggression.
30:59At this point, it's controlled.
31:00He's placing his shots very nicely on the inside.
31:03He's too old.
31:04He's too old.
31:05That was a nasty looping right hand by Lin-Manuel.
31:08Oh, my goodness.
31:10Been there all night for him.
31:13You got to learn to control your emotions.
31:15When you're able to hit your opponent with your best shot,
31:17you hit him over and over and over, it can become somewhat discouraging.
31:21You see Shabbat, he's still just in there just doing what he needs to do.
31:26He ain't let off.
31:27The intensity he hasn't picked up, he's staying calm, cool, and collected in there.
31:31And that's how you want to be until you find the key to open him up to be able to finish.
31:36Shabbat's fans are into it here in Quebec City.
31:42Oh, nice body work.
31:43See that pull?
31:44That was a nice pull right there.
31:45Yep, full counter right down to the body.
31:48And that shows me right there that he's thinking in there.
31:50He's just not in there throwing punches.
31:53He said, they call me the ghost because I like to live my life on the low profile.
31:57But the best version of me is this one in the ring, the violent version.
32:01I mean, he just turns into another guy.
32:04Yes, he does.
32:06But I'm not going to lie.
32:06This is his style.
32:08This is his style.
32:09It's been working for him.
32:11But I'm telling you at the highest level,
32:12the amount of punches that he's taking,
32:14he's going to have to perfect his defense after his offense.
32:18He has to get better.
32:19And he has to get more comfortable at all different ranges.
32:23You know, if you're standing mid-range all the time,
32:26you wouldn't have fired every single fight.
32:30However, it's entertaining for the fans.
32:32Absolutely, it's entertaining.
32:34Hear him, listen.
32:40What a fight.
32:41The busload of fans who made the trip from Thetford Mine, 77 miles away to Quebec City.
32:48Well, they're going to go home happy because their fighter,
32:51Thomas Chabot, at just 22 years old, looks to be improving to 11-0.
32:57He was bloodied.
32:58He was hit by right hands from Matias Ezequiel Guenemil.
33:02But he landed the better shots.
33:04And it was just as he couldn't get away from Guenemil's right.
33:08But Guenemil could not get away from Chabot's left.
33:11Look, at the top level, you've got to understand how to manage distance.
33:14You know, you've got to be able to fight from mid-range.
33:17Mid-range to inside, Chabot is an animal right there.
33:21But you've also got to have great footwork.
33:23You've got to be able to play with the ranges,
33:24be able to get around your opponent.
33:26Chabot, that's another thing he needs to go back and work on.
33:29Defensively, you know, he's got some good techniques.
33:32He understands to catch and shoot, weaving underneath shots, you know.
33:35But he's got to learn how to parry shots.
33:37He's got to learn how to, again, be able to be defensive outside,
33:40from the outside, to be able to land his offense.
33:43And his punch selection, I loved it today.
33:46His punch selection is unbelievable.
33:47Strong right hook, good uppercuts, great body shots.
33:51I mean, he has every punch in the arsenal, man.
33:53But if he can go back and work on the things that I just listed and improve,
33:58he'll be a better fighter than he is now.
34:01And let's tip our hat off to Guenemil.
34:04Came off, what, 11-month layoff?
34:06Yep.
34:06Fought his behind off.
34:07Fought back.
34:08Caught Chabot with some clean right hands early on.
34:11Got his attention.
34:12But he fought well.
34:14You know, I admire fighters that are brave.
34:17And Guenemil, that guy, he's extremely brave, man.
34:21Did a good job tonight.
34:24Mark Chinook with the decision.
34:31After eight rounds here inside the Video Tron Center,
34:34we go to the judges' scorecards.
34:36For the official decision.
34:39Benoit Roussel and David Therrien both have it 80-72.
34:43Guy Gérard has it 79-73.
34:47All in favor of your winner by unanimous decision,
34:51Thomas, The Ghost, Chabot!
34:55The Ghost is being seen tonight by all those fans
34:59who made the drive from Thetford Mines.
35:01They are proud as he improves to 11-0.
