00:10returning the 250 supercross west champion broke his wrist at breast day before this championship
00:16began first race back for him he's really here to get some seat time before the smx playoffs
00:22have started september but he has had success at this track before rj's actually been riding
00:27supercross this week to try to get a jump on smx see how he does on that rockstar this morning
00:33we're ready to go levi kitchen who won last week a little far outside for the way the start
00:38normally forms up at buds what's that about the six seventh pick the 47 see how we roll
00:45buds creek let's go
00:51wow deegan wheelies through on the inside oh a bunch of riders collide
00:55big pileups multiple pileups and i think deegan survived he has the early lead
01:01one kalisaki made it through its kitchen the others are down uh it looks like 29 we got
01:09was up there and hey deegan this is why qualifying was so important but
01:14lumber for ty three weeks in a row or three races in a row and down but levi kitchen
01:19is in second right now he's able to skate past that the race is on but hey deegan
01:24championship day where you want to be i think anstey was in that and mark finnis i didn't even
01:29see ants they only saw his motorcycle we saw a couple riders go flying julian boomer there in
01:34the red bull ktm orange in third and a good start behind us in fourth but deacon already started to
01:40open it up that's kind of what you've been talking about you get the start here this first half of
01:44the first lap you can make some serious hay yeah you're going to see these guys spread out especially
01:48from the leaders where hayden is and levi compared to the rest of the pack and it just it bottlenecks
01:54all the way up in there so if you're out front clean air where these guys got it's a great
01:57opportunity now the track's gonna be kind of a lot different than it was in practice it was
02:02raining the last time he was out on the racetrack as we're looking at max down looks like still at
02:07the trying to get back up that's down in the first corner but yeah as you can see the track's gonna
02:12be completely different they did a little bit of work so right now it's prime time to get these
02:16guys going and try to make as many moves as you can but you can see it's spreading out already
02:22hey i'm just glad to see anthony back on the bike because man he got launched
02:25outside of that first turn here is kitchen
02:29evan ferry on the wildcat racing gas gas rookie is fifth and now we see tom biel center of the
02:35screen he's got some work to do he's ninth yeah i mean tom bias in the top 10 and he's
02:41probably already 10 seconds back than hayden already and that just shows you where to start
02:45and everything bottles up so it's not like he got a terrible start but he's lost a lot of time just
02:51way this track is but tom's been fighting all year got somebody on the yamaha and it's jordan
02:57smith perhaps who was sixth i think he's down that'll help me out a little bit hey you nailed
03:04it though he is he's nine seconds down you're almost almost almost got 10 seconds on the nose
03:09jordan smith he kind of messed it up a little bit but no it's gonna be hard for these guys to go
03:15hayden's throwing some whips out there and the way he's been riding the last few weekends
03:19you know he's got the confidence to continue tom bias been making some mistakes the first
03:24moto so for him his last three motos or four motos going to have to be redemption tour almost
03:30so there is vial he's got cody shock right behind him and a good start for hamshire who is eighth
03:36hamshire was excited they made some updates to the engine that he hasn't been able to race on yet
03:41since supercross so he was curious to see how the bike starts there's evan ferry son of tim
03:46ferry your old teammate best race we've seen out of him in his young pro career yeah first time we
03:50get to see him up here it's good to get him this is the experience that any rookies uh young kids
03:55need so aaron he's got a champion two-time mxgp champion mx2 gp champion behind him so
04:03see if he can hold him off and that's what a good start could do hey if you're going to pick a track
04:07to get one it's the right one to do it this is the place but as you can see how much these guys
04:13have spread it out already and we're talking aaron ferry he's in fifth so yeah and there's
04:19antony just getting back going a lap down on the 37 a little mistake from evan ferry here comes vial
04:26yeah it's going to funnel back in yeah tom didn't jump and he wasn't really sure
04:30oh dylan schwartz who had a problem last week at unit dilla he's fighting to try to be top 20
04:36in combined smx points another rough one for him let's see if tom can do something with evan this
04:43one of the opportunities where you can pass if you can go out on the outside
04:46if you get around things gonna funnel back in there you go
04:50aaron makes evan makes a mistake gets on the inside nice ac
04:55yeah guys something the track crew does when it's wet like it was this morning
05:00you can't necessarily leave those wet lines from the morning to harden up it's just
05:05not very practical it can be pretty sketchy so what they've done now is they've smoothed out a
05:10lot of the track which is going to make it hard for guys like vial to slice through the pack and
05:15make up time yeah so a little less separation a little less technical what happens there when
05:21you take some of those ruts out well it does as adam said it does make it a little bit harder for
05:26the guys to make up time just because the main line is where everybody's riding at it's the dry
05:30line so going on the outside it might be smoother or but it's deep and so especially on these 250s
05:37you lose all the horsepower and you can see rj has been being close the last quarter of the lap
05:42around evan but the way this track works out it just closes you off so particularly this racetrack
05:48and how it is it's gonna be hard for these guys to get in unless somebody makes a mistake
05:52but rj's doing what rj does he's going to continue to fight well i'm glad you brought that up rj said
05:57look i have only done one 30-minute moto he's like i really have to ride within myself today
06:01and just try to control the pace and i said come on man you're rj hempshire he's like i know i know
06:06that's not normally my thing looks like anstey has pulled out of this race after that big first
06:11turn crash yeah yeah that's gonna be hard for rj just the way he rides but i'm sure he probably
06:18is riding it the way um you know any way he wants until he gets out here and he continues to get
06:23roosted then he's going to want to try to get aggressive but with the track being a little bit
06:27smoother and maybe deeper this kind of reminds me of way rj is it's kind of a sloppy racetrack
06:33got to be kind of aggressive hanging out as he makes the pass on the inside
06:37of evan no way look at evan evan ferry fighting back against hempshire just like his old man
06:46and looks like hempshire who by the way grew up with evan and hempshire
06:50long time riding student with timmy ferry as his coach probably was back when evan was
06:56on mini cycles makes the move on him that's gonna make rj feel old yeah well we won't say anything
07:02we won't say that the baseball pitch no we know no get up but i'm gonna talk about that so
07:10hempshire makes the move here's the motorsport.com whole shot replay deegan escapes on the inside
07:14yeah well hayden gets up on that dry stuff and this corner actually starts going back to the
07:18right a little bit and it looks like that they get pinched off and when you go into left-handed
07:24corner and guys are going right it never ends well in this corner this racetrack is notorious for
07:29having these issues but it was hayden deegan got he didn't even get the best jump but you can see
07:35him up there clear and then now you got masterpool and steve they all pinch each other off
07:44wow there's the big hit that was a big one that was anstead trying to figure out who else that
07:50was way on the outside might have been bennett saw ktm go flying there back to the leader deegan
07:57he has opened it up five plus seconds over kitchen yeah you know just like last weekend
08:04hayden's probably enjoying this having a good time just enjoying this racetrack because i mean it's
08:09tricky but it's not one of those dangerous dangerous racetracks and the way hayden rides
08:14how aggressive he is on a motorcycle the way the track is laid out is actually going to work well
08:18for him it's going to suit his riding style looks like he's having a good time almost six seconds so
08:23i'm sure he's having a good time oh yeah
08:29just like to listen to him at times he's so wide open and here's the gap back to kitchen
08:37there it is six and a half now yeah levi's gonna be in a tough situation in a minute because hey
08:45hayden's gotten far enough away from that he doesn't have that rabbit in front of him but
08:49then he has uh the rookie and uh volmir and chance hyman is coming up behind him so he's got
08:54to keep racing forward he can't otherwise these guys are gonna close in real quick on him yeah
08:59could have a battle brewing there to go back to deegan pulling away oh yeah he's having fun no

09:35his return to motocross now if you're watching hayden he looks like he's pretty aggressive for
09:41a guy who's gonna hopefully wrap up the championship today but by the way he's rotting
09:47he's actually keeping himself loose like being almost really loud on the bike over revving it
09:52moving around whipping it like he's basically keeping himself from thinking about this
09:56championship and by him rotting that way keeps him super loose has fun and he's just continuing
10:01to pull away from these guys so hayden's doing a great job as we're watching the rookie trying
10:07to hold off the sophomore right and chance time is but these guys are 10 seconds back then hayden
10:15from the lead right now boomer i think has been underrated as a rookie this year he's been top 10
10:19in almost all the photos just this time after a big concussion actually suffered at southwick missed
10:24a race and that was it otherwise he's been right around that seven eight nine spot which is really
10:28good how deep this class is now we're really getting to see it running third yeah you're
10:32absolutely right and we talked a few times on how deep this class is you know getting a tenth place
10:3710 to 15 those guys are riding really good and it's showing right now julian's up here in third
10:43place um hanging with your last week's winner um levi kitchen right in front of him chance hymas
10:49was pulling away from these guys so it's not like he's he's struggling he's up here and that's the
10:54way he's been riding all year long just that's what his start does for you yeah well hymas seeing
11:01behind boomer trying to make the move what a difference a week can make last week he blew past
11:06about five six riders in the first lap got the lead he's pulling away and then it ended like this
11:12yeah tough i mean this is at the point where the hardest part of the race was done he got past all
11:16those guys and then they stuck with him and then now at this point he had about eight seconds but
11:21yeah just going down the hill simple not even really a mistake it was unidilla happened got
11:26kicked out and it looked really scary for a while but it was able to get up and ride off
11:31and then try to come back to second motor which he rode a couple laps but
11:35retired yeah he's a little banged up biggest thing is uh burned his arm the exhaust pipe
11:40landed right on his arm in that crash we asked him yesterday about his health
11:47honestly uh just took it off monday tuesday rode wednesday felt good um but yeah definitely
11:53blessed to be walking away from that one that was a scary one um haven't had a big one in a while so
11:58yeah fast section and just kind of happened out of nowhere so it's sucked at you know like five or
12:03so laps to go so very unfortunate but everyone knows that's how that track is and how racing
12:09goes sometimes but yeah lucky to be here and i just got a burn on my arm and uh yeah should be
12:15good this weekend yeah good it was scary to see him and you could see the smoke coming off the
12:20bike but when i mentioned earlier about hayden riding how he was riding uh over him in the
12:25motorcycle very well look at that sorry to cut you off but that's exactly what hymas just did
12:29and he triples james taking over third place yeah i wasn't sure if julian went outside maybe he got
12:35stuck in the outside because it didn't look like he was chance was really trying to go in and make
12:39the pass maybe something happened to him but what i was saying was with hayden and as you're watching
12:44chance and um you know levon all these guys if you look at hit their riding position like the way
12:50they're riding a motorcycle like they're super smooth but then you watch hayden really hanging
12:54the thing out you know bikes all over revving loud when i said this track fits hayden you can
13:00get away with it because of the soil and how sticky it is it's allowing hayden to actually be the best
13:05version of himself we're riding like chance and levi being very consistent this track doesn't
13:10necessarily reward that so you can see that's where that gap is coming from because it's not
13:15like they're riding bad but hayden that aggressive being attacking the racetrack is allowing him to
13:21be out 11 seconds so far and it's seriously because the way to track has been based out
13:26you see in the lap times yeah look at that deegan over a second quicker lap than anyone else with
13:31the best time but on the same token last week at unidillo does that favor more the kitchen and
13:36hyman style yes and that was my whole point so last weekend we would reward a track if you wrote
13:42very smooth being consistent being patient jumping over the bumps like chance hyman's like levi
13:46kitchen and hey deegan's really good at all this stuff as we're watching tom close down on julian
13:53hayden's good he's good on all that but it eliminates to be able to make up that much time
13:58here compared to where last weekend those guys had a better opportunity to do it because of
14:02their riding style we're being aggressive here gets you out to 11 second lead 13 seconds over
14:07the place in a few laps as we watch these ktm teammates vial and boomer battle remember deegan
14:13was doing this at buds creek a year ago got out to the early lead was gone and then there was a
14:18red flag restart and then he actually tagged vial on the first turn of that and went down
14:23so the results won't show you how well he rode here a year ago he's got a little vengeance on
14:27the mind as we watch the relative veteran vial oh what happened there yeah it looks like he got
14:33cross right so i'm wondering is that what happened to julian when he went outside the screen uh when
14:38he got passed by a chance on there because tom was close looks like he gets cross rutted and then
14:43since they pushed all that mud off to the side they slam into it it slows the bike down and just
14:48lose a lot of time as we just saw yeah i got to go back to work to bridge it to his teammate
14:53hamshire we hear has gone down he's no longer in the top 10 joey sabachi angelique swole the
14:59triumph teammates are sixth and seventh now and this track view smx track view something we started
15:05showing last week putting some gps on the transponders of some of the bikes got long-term
15:10goals maybe for the whole field eventually to do this right now we're kind of in a beta mode i would
15:17call it but you can see some of the data we get and you see 48 that's hymas closing on kitchen as
15:24deacon see how big his lead is yeah right above like levi as i mentioned a couple laps ago he
15:31was going to be stuck in a awkward spot because he doesn't have anybody chased because he can't
15:35see hayden so you're naturally going to start riding behind you and i think that's what's
15:39happening chance hymas is starting to close up on him but levi he's been here done that and as i say
15:45that chance must have made a mistake because levi's got a pretty over him right now yep and
15:49you can see that on the smx track view as we go back to kitchen in second yeah he's in no man's
15:59land right now no one behind no one ahead yeah you can hear these bikes when they hit some of
16:06these corners it's almost like they got to stay right on the bottom of those berms because
16:10otherwise the rpms drops off quite a bit when it does that you lose all that time and then it just
16:15it affects you down the next 30 away but levi looks pretty good looks like he's starting to
16:19calm down okay you say bottom of the berm is that where the traction is is that the angle of the
16:24rut what are you looking for there so basically being at the bottom of berm that's where the
16:28corner is probably the most packed up and it's closer to the heart base on there so you get too
16:33far up in the top part with all this mud on there you just lose all that momentum and especially in
16:38the 250 classes a lot all right let's send it down to jason thomas well hayden deegan you see
16:43him starting to pull away got the start but you see how aggressive he's being and it's a pretty
16:48big departure from what we saw last week in the second moto and i think a lot of that is style
16:53and it's also this racetrack versus a much more technical unidilla budge creek rewards aggression
16:59in a rider like hayden deegan that's what he specializes in he wants to be heavy-handed with
17:03the throttle and this track will allow him to do exactly that and i think you're seeing the
17:08results come from that here in that first moto yeah and typically with someone like hayden deegan
17:15somebody young 17 18 years old like when i first turned pro i remember i had one way of riding
17:22that that was fast it took me a while to learn how to get the best out of myself on each different
17:28condition and i think that's what makes hayden so impressive is he does that have that aggressive
17:34all-out style but you go to a track like unidilla uh you go to a track like high point he's able to
17:40get the best out of himself on a bunch of different conditions which i think that separates him from
17:46the other guys yeah thanks adam and the stats show that it's really the consistency deegan has
17:52eight moto wins this year that's a lot that's the boast but it's not dominant what really stands out
17:57is he's been in the top five in all but one moto and that was the sixth and on the podium and all
18:03but two motos been pretty good everywhere no hate's been pretty good uh all year long and
18:09everywhere as we just at the bottom looks like tom vio was able to get around uh the rookie and
18:14julian but yeah as we were talking about hayden's riding style and and coming for rookies they've
18:20been aggressive and the way hayden rides really hard on the throttle yeah he's very good at other
18:25tracks at unidilla he was able to win a moto at high point he's able to win motos but coming here
18:30it's like he doesn't have to think about doing anything this is how he naturally rides this is
18:34how he's always been so i think that's why he comes here and that gap between him and levi
18:40is a lot bigger because hayden's more comfortable of what he's naturally how he rides a motorcycle
18:45it's better here and then you can see levi finished a second behind him last weekend in
18:50the first moto he's 16 seconds and he started right behind him in this moto just a difference
18:54on track oh yeah this might be the danger zone of danger zones considering how fast he was at
19:01the track last year and how fast he is right now this is a big lead and when you look at his points
19:07lead having 73 points as it sits right now you would think this is the dominance that you would
19:13um you know expect to see to have that big points lead compared to where you see in the 450 class
19:18it's a little bit closer but it just shows you certain tracks favorite certain riders and also
19:23how good hayden's been everywhere inconsistent throughout the year and he's getting close to
19:27this thing see that line he had at the very top of the hill that little low spot i wasn't even gonna
19:33say it i don't want to bring it up okay play yeah hey you gotta be smart sometimes i think that's
19:40within bounds enough yeah i would say about the rest of the field like see that's how he's pulling
19:44away he's he's borderline on the track yeah borderline borderline exactly oh he's probably
19:50not the only one and lead up to 17 and a half seconds oh we're gonna show it to you well i
19:56really called it out now yeah watch the left side take it jay oh okay i'll be the analyst
20:01yeah well when the hill's uh maybe a foot less steep
20:06yeah there you go he's getting there a little faster it's less steep probably gives him a better
20:10angle in the corner but hey there's no markers there they got knocked over from people running
20:14over them but yeah hayden's just doing this thing even if you adopt him it ain't gonna make no
20:20difference he'll pull away but the kid's having a good time and you can see this track's still
20:24pretty one-lined so being out front so one good line out here you might as well be out front
20:29leading that his teammate battle these are deegan's teammates he got romano and smith on the
20:3531 smith had a good start but then crashed about halfway through the first lap he is not giving up
20:41on it and it gives us a chance to have a thor team check-in romano 10th smith 11th benek 16th and
20:49anstey out because of that first turn crash and deegan leading so to the thor clad monster energy
20:56yamaha star racing riders romano's still kind of in a rebuild after losing almost two years
21:02of racing due to injuries acl and shoulder and i talked to him last week he said he's still talking
21:07to the star team his deal is up hoping to come back next year they still believe in him he he
21:13believes and it's gonna take time oh is that ferry they're making a move on yeah something went wrong
21:19for ferry yeah is that evan yeah but not on the lead lap he's 37 he's a lot down yeah back to uh
21:27nick yeah yeah the kid has talent like me for sure he's doing the right thing just slowly build
21:33because he's had a lot of injuries and setbacks so the best thing for him to be out here just
21:37logging these laps and he's getting better every single weekend but when you talk about the track
21:41and the lines and how difficult it is once you get out that main line we saw how close jordan was a
21:46few corners back he went on the outside trying something different get stuck in the soft stuff
21:52and then look how much time he loses um it's hard for these guys to make passes and times up
21:57they're following and now we found hempshire who's back up to ninth march banks on the 26th who came
22:04back to the pro circuit team last weekend he had to stop in the pits i believe for goggles not quite
22:11sure so he's pretty far back he's 18th but the good news is schwartz with back-to-back bad motos
22:18nice pads yeah inside it's on lux turner on the aeo ktm the good news is that march banks actually
22:25now has a huge lead over schwartz in points for 20th and that'll lock him into the motos for the
22:29smx playoff so for schwartz who's been riding with a wrist injury all summer it's starting to come
22:34undone at the wrong time here's the pit stop well we're gonna know for sure and it's goggles yeah
22:41get goggles yep make sure you make sure you get all dirt out of it i mean it just shows you how
22:47important vision is so take that time get out there um but garrett's riding really good as
22:53we're watching him ac yeah guys just something on garrett march banks he was my teammate back in
23:002019 and uh as a rookie a young kid 17 year old kid and there were some times in practice where
23:07he would it would be crazy speed like he's shown me those flashes that that say he could be a
23:13consistent winner but um obviously left pc went to club mx and kind of viewed like his career was
23:20on the decline a little bit but now with this opportunity with pro circuit i really think he
23:24has a chance to to be special so we'll see what he does uh the rest of the year well and remember
23:31with garrett march banks as well his last time we really saw success he won the daytona supercross
23:37in 2020 literally the last round before we had to completely change the system for the series that
23:43season we've seen him be that guy before and i think last week was just a snapshot of what he
23:48can be again so yes he's he's gone through a lot of change went to the 450 class and come back
23:54but as to ac's point the potential is definitely there yeah five five in the moto's fourth overall
23:59last week and his return to this team and he is in 17th now after the pit stop back to the battle
24:07for third vial is trying to catch hymas and maybe even could make a run at kitchen here
24:15yeah levi's a couple seconds in front and good to see tom up he's running really good but that
24:20time that he lost to these guys he's trying to make it up and the problem is not going to be
24:25one these guys are running really good so it's going to be hard to catch him but once he catches
24:29them that's where the real the real challenge becomes being able to get around them with this
24:34the way the layout is and how difficult one line of this racetrack is and that track is showing you
24:39how close the battle is second and fifth and then the lead for the 38 so vl he proved your point
24:47he said you know if you don't get a start on this track you're going to get further back the gap
24:51than at most of the tracks and that's what vl is working against right now yeah i mean he's working
24:56against and i would say i mean he's running the same lap times as hayden is out front right now
25:01they're all in the 203s in fact chance hymas was the only one in 202 so but he's 25 seconds back
25:08and all that time was lost in the first two laps as he makes a small mistake trying to get on the
25:14outside gets a little cross rutted and now he's gonna have to make up all the time that he just
25:19lost again now what's on the line here is kitchen has to finish second to stave off deegan clinching
25:27the title in moto one so he asked to dig because hymas and vl are close if kitchen drifts back to
25:32third and deegan wins the moto then deegan wins the title right now so i think did i just see
25:41kitchen or no i think i just saw kitchen yeah no it's still on i think we have an issue with the
25:46timing and scoring okay we'll see in a second okay there is two lap riders and then the right
25:51side there goes hymas no hymas is ahead of kitchen so that could be a championship level pass right
25:58there great pass and i wonder did levi get caught up in behind those laughers i gotta imagine that
26:05jay i was telling you not at the but good ride for chance hymas and this is that confidence that
26:10i'm saying is kind of brewing up once he's able to do this before chance he's either out front
26:16and been able to win the race but we didn't see this fail to come through the pack and just show
26:20that consistent speed and doing it although he's 23 seconds behind leon hayden this is what we're
26:27seeing from a guy who's starting to get that confidence and he looks good he does so now
26:31kitchen has to get him back now look it's not really nail biter oh now vl has gone by kitchen
26:36as well so things are coming unraveled for the 47 i was going to say is this isn't a nail-biting
26:41championship scenario there's still three more motos in this series after this but i'm sure if
26:46you're digging you'd love to get this thing done in moto one and now he's in position to do so yeah
26:51he's in a great position and the way how much fun hayden's having it biggest lead of the year the
26:57most dominating uh race of the year on championship day i mean why not this would be a perfect
27:04opportunity to go out there and wrap this thing up and it looks like he is if everything stays the
27:08same as yeah you're right tom vial got around levi i wonder if something happened with levi
27:13whether it's with the motorcycle or him physically normally not like levi to drop off that quickly
27:19oh yeah that was a bad lap or two out of nowhere did not see that coming so vl is going to keep
27:25digging to try to get to hymas and it's getting worse we hear for kitchen look at the cap now
27:31it's a mechanics area he does not glance over yeah he doesn't glance over so
27:37it doesn't look like it's an injury maybe just something happened or maybe he's feeling it
27:46if he starts sitting down a little bit yeah
27:49yeah you see that how he landed off that jump and sat back
27:53almost either he's really tired or maybe he injured himself a little bit that's the only
27:57or maybe he injured himself a little bit that's the only way a router would be doing that so
28:01not trying to speculate but there's definitely something's wrong seeing the body language a
28:06little bit a little different yeah you can see him really laboring and even when he lands off
28:10the jump his body's starting to collapse so he's really not trying to fight going forward
28:16boom arrow would be the next in line in fifth stavachi swole brown hampshire
28:21jordan smith next then it's romano and master pool down to the first turn three motos as you
28:28mentioned james in a row where master pool has gone down early he is in 12th
28:35and this will allow deegan to wrap the title if it ends this way the championship celebration the
28:42actual presentation of the number one plate would come at the end of moto 2 but we can
28:46certainly acknowledge it and talk to deegan about it at the end of this moto if it ends this way
28:52as we speculate on the 47 trying to figure out what could possibly have happened here

29:04yeah so we're watching this is right before the finish line got these guys right up in here
29:11as we that's a pack they got a pack of riders with lap riders and
29:17yeah that's chance who got around levi right before the finish line so actually levi didn't
29:23get caught up by the lap riders he just goes on the outside and you just notice with him sitting
29:26down um something's not right he lands off there and sits down and levi's the type of rider who
29:31stands up quite a bit so i can tell a different oh i mean the lap time he just went a 209 deegan
29:40went 206 hymas 205 vl 204 boomer 206 so kitchen way off the pace suddenly three four seconds
29:48yeah to me if it was the bike normally riders if we want to we love blaming the team and the bike
29:54so we don't let them know yeah so if it was a bike i think it would be a wave but the fact is
29:59there's no wave there's something probably going on with him personally oh vl is going after hymas
30:04now yeah tom's been running a good pace it just lost all the time in the beginning so he's doing
30:10all this work but now he really gets messed up with the lap rider you can see chance pulls away
30:15from him so he's gonna have two laps after this lap to try to catch him it seems like james you
30:22mentioned how it's one line and hard to pass but also it seems like one mistake one caught in a
30:27lap rider one error in a rush seems to also stretch the gap out extra long yeah and it really
30:34it depends on where you catch the lap riders at so if you get caught right here in this section
30:38you get stuck behind someone um that's not running the pace you are you got to follow them and you
30:43see how slow this corner is so you got these these lap riders who are battling for their own position
30:49you get stuck behind them you lose that time but you also see tom games that time um being able to
30:55be free so i think tom's fasted in a chance but it's going to be dependent on where he
31:00catches and i'm at and hopefully he gets in the spot where he can make that pass
31:04without getting stuck in one of these berms and try to get around them
31:12and vl has about two laps to do it be two laps to go next time around
31:20and it's difficult for these guys with the track being the way it is and since it's still a little
31:24wet you really can't stick stay behind somebody because you're going to run out of tear off so
31:28you're getting that roost on you and it's packing so the guys almost have to lay back
31:33and hopefully just kind of catch them off um catch them off guard we're getting a two lap
31:37board from hayden deegan yep it's starting to click off the moments the laps as he gets closer
31:43to a title kitchen and fourth would be enough for him to cinch it go over a 75 point lead
31:49and in complete control and does also have the fastest lap of the moto
31:54yeah hayden didn't want to leave any question whether he was the best guy

33:24coming out and to be honest the way deegan rode as a rookie last year held a point lead at one
33:33point was already consistent there i wouldn't say this is a surprise by any measure we knew coming
33:39in he'd be tough you know um 100 but what his mechanic put on the pit board was huge right there
33:46because as a racer when you got 30 seconds or whatever when you fall over it feels like you
33:51get up and you've been sitting there for a minute so in hayden's mind i'm sure he probably felt like
33:56man how close are these guys are here so the mechanic put plus 12 let him know right there
34:01now you can calm back down it's actually a smart move by his mechanic to put that on the pit board
34:05instead of wait for hayden to figure out himself yeah good job there rent duffy the mechanic
34:10long time wrench in these pits really has found a good fit with deegan duff life column always
34:17worked with justin brayton for a long time and he has really gelled with the deagons duff actually
34:25broke his leg into offseason riding himself and the deagons made sure one way or another to get
34:30him to the first supercross of the year they don't want to race without him and this whole program
34:35it has all come together here for both deegan and his team yes it has it's really impressive
34:42and just the way he's he's been done doing it all year long i mean clearly this is this is
34:48hayden deegan at his his best right here when he's on this is what you see and he's been talking it
34:54backing it up got a whole program and there's a lot of pressure on this kid to come in here and
34:59fulfill what he did and we saw what happened his first race when he came out um a couple years
35:04ago back in iron man and you know having to go through what he did last year but slowly each race
35:10he's been building he's been building the confidence as hopefully these other guys get
35:15this is what happens and man i'm so happy and proud for this kid to be able to do it as oh
35:20is that hymas yeah i think it's hymas he was just in front of vial who had caught him and now hymas
35:25on the last lap has gone down should put the out to second and it might be move levi up to third
35:33again i don't think that will affect title i think kitchen would have to finish second so it's not
35:40going to change for hayden deegan well a lot of times titles we say it's a long journey not really
35:47second year as a pro already the smx champ from last year but delivering on all the hype he had
35:53built before he turned pro hayden deegan wins the moto and that should be enough to clinch the
35:59championship we'll wait until it's official when they come across we're watching savage
36:07and swole they were in a battle the whole way to triumph teammates
36:14and they're still battling in this final section there goes boomer
36:19and hymas lost a ton of ground yeah there he is man he's out of the top five
36:28so lots of shake-ups in that moto
36:32and that's why i wanted to wait till everyone came across to make
36:34sure kitchen did take third i was like i want 30 seconds
