00:00Egypt and Jordan are undoubtedly on a lot of people's travel bucket lists,

00:08but I've always had the impression that the majority of people travel around there on an organized tour.

00:13So, I'm going to give it a go by myself and solo backpack there for one month.

00:24Alright, welcome to noisy Cairo.

00:26It's just incredible to finally be here. This is a place you sort of dream about going when you were a kid,

00:30and right now I'm here.

00:32We're inside a pyramid. How cool is that?

00:35When I got back to the hostel and I told them how much I paid for that, they just laughed in my face.

00:39So, I got completely ripped off.

00:44You come to a temple like, alright, another one, but then as soon as you walk in, you're like, oh, okay.

00:49Yeah, I see what the fuss is about.

00:52Well, the deceptive thing with these tours is that your costs start adding up.

00:55It ends up being quite an expensive day.

01:01Ahmed, who runs the guesthouse here, he's booked me on a two-day cruise on the Nile,

01:04but I literally have no idea what kind of boat I'm on.

01:07I don't know if it's like a Faluca cruise ship or if I'm just going to be paddling up the Nile.

01:13So, you've got all these boats here trying to sell souvenirs to us.

01:20Some guy came up to me and took me to the mosque, which other tourists don't go into,

01:24at least that's what I'm led to believe.

01:26Cairo is very safe and very enjoyable.

01:28So, this is the view we've got of Cairo.

01:32The thing to understand about Jordan is if you want to get to these different little sites,

01:36you've either got to hire a car or go on one of these day tours,

01:39and these tours only run if they've got a few people to go on it.

01:42So, you kind of are at the mercy of other people.

01:46It's nice when you're travelling to have a bit of quality alone time every now and again,

01:49but of course on this trip I've had plenty of alone time as it is already.

01:53Another day, another super busy hostel.

01:57Found a friend.

01:59Come on.

02:13This is one of the things I've been most looking forward to on the entire trip,

02:15so I'm excited. I'm really excited.

02:23It's like every little corner you go around, you're like, is this going to be the one?

02:43Today we're going diving in the Red Sea.

02:58The sights you see do not disappoint. They are mind-blowing. They are incredible.
