Danielle Fishel of Boy Meets World Reveals She Has Early Stage Breast Cancer at 43

00:00I was recently diagnosed with DCIS, which stands for ductal carcinoma in situ, which

00:21is a form of breast cancer.

00:25It is very, very, very early.

00:28It's technically stage zero.

00:32To be specific, just because I like too much information all the time, I was diagnosed

00:37with high-grade DCIS with microinvasion, and I'm going to be fine.

01:04What I realized is the more people I talked to, the more people had their own experiences,

01:11either themselves being diagnosed with cancer or a family member who's been diagnosed with

01:15cancer and the world of resources and experiences that can be shared by sharing it and things

01:22that can be learned.

01:30The only reason I caught this cancer when it is still stage zero is because the day

01:37I got my text message that my yearly mammogram had come up, I made the appointment.

01:42The fact that I am good about going to my doctor's appointments when truthfully it would

01:47be so much easier with as busy as I am, with the 50 jobs I have and the two kids and a

01:53husband and a house, it would be so easy to say, I don't have time for that.

01:57I went to my mammogram last year.

01:59I was fine last year.

02:00I don't need to go again this year.

02:02It's going to be fine.

02:03I was fine last year.

02:04And I didn't.

02:05Instead, I was like, yeah, it's time, got to make that appointment.

02:09And they found it so, so, so early that I'm going to be fine.
