00:17a 22-year-old man, believed to be known to the victims, on suspicion of murder. Greater

00:27tent has been set up and a cordon erected around Barnard Road, with a huge presence

00:31of emergency services at the scene today. The full statement from police says, at around

00:3611.20pm last night, we were made aware that three people had been stabbed on Barnard Road

00:41in the Gorton area near Longside after numerous calls from members of the public. On arrival,

00:47officers, including specialist firearm units, alongside colleagues from the North West Ambulance

00:52Service, found that three people, a 17-year-old girl, a 43-year-old woman and a 64-year-old

00:58man, had all suffered serious stab wounds. Sadly, the woman in her 40s passed away from

01:04her injuries at the scene. The two others remain in hospital for treatment to injuries

01:08believed to be life-threatening at this time. A 22-year-old man was arrested on suspicion

01:13of murder. He has been taken into custody ahead of being interviewed by detectives.

01:23to witnesses to establish the full circumstances surrounding the incident, but early indication
