00:00There's a potential war between Taiwan and China, but it's very important for Chinese to prepare for the potential war.
00:06I'm Guo Junhong, I'm a COO from Watchout, which is an online media focused on the civil defense issue.
00:12Watchout here is trying to promote the awareness of you should prepare for yourself, you should prepare for civil defense.
00:19Because if there's a war happening, you might have to learn how to help yourself, how to defend yourself, even if you are a civilian only.
00:27If there's food or water or some supplies inside, you can just survive in the first 72 hours.
00:34Because in the very beginning of a war, there might not be help directly from the government, so you have to help yourself.
00:40There's some ability you can learn, you can learn before, like first aid, or how to find a shelter, how to make your own shelters.
00:49When there's a crisis happening in China, we can find there's more visitors coming into our website.
00:56Because they think, oh, there's something happening there. We should be prepared.
01:01Khmer Academy is a civil defense educational organization here in Taiwan.
01:05We focus on the training of civil defense.
01:07We explain that in three stages of how Russia operates against Ukraine.
01:12And this is what China is doing right now.
01:13They want peace time, they want to discredit our government from its people, discredit Western allies from its people.
01:20And certainly to spread Western skepticism in Taiwan, and to spread Taiwan's skepticism around the world.
01:27In drill days, we invite more than 100 people to go through a full day of simulated scenarios.
01:32That includes mass injury relief, and evading enemy tracking, and reporting to the evac shelter safely,
01:41and geolocation to seek out resources for people who send out SOS signals.
01:46These students have to go through the whole day, and what they have planned to bring with them.
01:50The water, food, they have to calculate their calories, they have to calculate how heavy their bag is,
01:58whether they can sustain them for the whole day.
02:02And they have to work in groups, you know, put them into 10 groups.
02:04And it's really up to the groups to come up with a decision-making system.
