Kolkata Doctor Rape-Murder Case: Supreme Court Sets Up National Task Force For Doctors’ Safety

Days after taking suo motu cognisance the alleged rape and murder of Kolkata medic, the Supreme Court on Tuesday, August 20, formed a 10-member National Task Force to recommend measures for ensuring safe working conditions for doctors and other medical professionals across the country. The apex court also raised questions about the conduct of the Kolkata Police, observing that there was a delay in filing the FIR.
