00:00It's going to be very difficult to replace Gus Harmer or R Blaster. Very difficult and they would both sting from several perspectives.
00:12Harmer's been an excellent signing, I thought he was excellent last year, his numbers were really good and I would be shocked if there aren't teams towards the bottom end of the Premier League that aren't looking at him as an option.
00:25And yes it'd take a couple of quid but they'd be looking at him. As for R Blaster, look everybody loves a homegrown player and this is the passing of the torch, Billy Sharpe to R Blaster, the photos of the ball boy and Sharpe and all that.
00:42We've both interviewed him, he comes across as a brilliant lad. I remember speaking to him at Bournemouth last year, that interview that Andy did recently when he scored at Preston.
00:52It is undoubted what this football club means to that young man and I'm sure in one world he would love to stay for the next few years and build his career and get Sheffield United back into the Premier League and that would be the hope of the club and him and everyone else.
01:11We've already alluded to this quite a few times though Danny, but there's a pecking order and there's money and there's fees and there's life changing amounts of cash that would be very difficult for either player to turn down.
01:28It's not just a case of I'll just knock them back, the players and the takeover is going to go through and we don't need to sell and all that kind of stuff. Sheffield United probably don't need to sell right now if the takeover goes through, a lot of business has been done. Chris would not want to lose either of them.
01:43That's just football isn't it? As we've said United have done that this season, they've taken Peterborough's best player, they've taken Plymouth's best player, they've taken Coventry's best player, that's just how football works. But what I would say, I know you mentioned about history repeating itself and my mind goes back to Black Thursday straight away selling Brian Dean and Jan Agrafia-Toft on the same day, selling James Beattie.
02:05Every United fan, you talk to any United fan they'll all have their own story, some of an older generation might go back to selling old TC to Leeds or someone like that. But what I would say is that under Prince Abdullah in fairness to him and there's a lot that I've sort of criticised him for but there's a lot of things that he's done that I maybe don't agree with.
02:25Pros and cons, absolutely. But what I would say, one of his pros very much for me is that he drives a hard bargain, he doesn't sell a player I don't think easily and everyone will look at Bergen and Gye obviously that was a different situation apart from them to Ramsdale maybe and that was only when he effectively went on strike and refused to play for the football club so your hands are tied in that aspect and he's still got 30 million, up to 30 million quid for him.
02:51So apart from that really, I can't think of many that they've sold against a fan's wishes or whatever or not for a good price.
03:01And again, at the time, hard for him to turn down, good money for the club, fanless other people coming in.
03:07So what I would say is that I understand the fears, I have that thing in the back of my head, I said it earlier about it's been a good window with 10 days left and that big caveat there of a lot depends on what will happen in these 10 days but they'll have the valuation.
03:22They're not going to sit here and go, listen, Gus Holmes is not for sale, that's just not how it works. We said earlier about Man City, they sold Alvarez because somebody reached his figure, I'm not saying there's a figure there in Chris' office saying our bastard is worth 20 million or whatever but they'll have a figure in mind where they can't say no anymore and if someone meets that, as you said, the reality is a football but I think it'll be a big number.
