00:25He said that sometimes he has a problem with where to get a check-up.

00:29The approved medical allowance of teachers was only P500 in 2020.

00:40Even if we have a physical education, P500 is still not enough to be spent.

00:47Our physical check-up, our annual P.E., is every year.

00:55The teachers like Alan admitted that the government will support them.

01:02the expanded health care benefits will be given to public school teachers starting next year.

01:08From the P500, teachers will receive P7,000 for their medical allowance.

01:15This is higher than 1,300 percent of what teachers used to receive.

01:20According to Deputy Secretary Sonny Angara,

01:22this is a big thing for teachers to have a comprehensive insurance coverage.

01:27Alan is happy because for him, this is a recognition of the government for the sacrifices of teachers.

01:33He added that they won't have a problem with where to get a check-up even if they get sick.

01:40We are thankful to the government because they saw the hardship of the teachers

01:44because we have already passed a time where the government should also take care of the well-being of teachers in terms of health.

02:06It became possible for the teachers to have an additional medical allowance

02:10after President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. approved the salary adjustment under Executive Order No. 64.

02:17Aside from the salary adjustment, qualified government employees will also be able to receive

02:22P7,000 for their medical allowance as a subsidy for their HMO-type benefits.

02:31Additionally, the tax-free P5,000 teaching allowance received by the teachers will be increased to P10,000 from the school year 2025 to 2026,

02:42and for the following years of teaching.

02:44The return to teaching act was also approved by President Marcos Jr.
