00:00Hi guys and welcome to DriveSpark, I am Prameet and today what we are driving is the Jeep
00:11Meridian Overland 4x4 and this is the 2024 version.
00:16So let's quickly start this video and I'll tell you everything you need to know about
00:19this SUV.
00:20So first things first, let's start off with the front end of the vehicle now.
00:31It actually looks very identical to the Compass because obviously of the grille, but this
00:37has a more broad and a blacked out grille than the Compass.
00:40So yeah, I mean there it stands out, but from a distance, it will definitely look that I
00:45mean people say that this is a Compass XL or maybe like an elongated Compass, but it
00:51is nothing like that.
00:52It is a completely new vehicle.
00:54It is longer, taller, wider and loaded with features that you do not get on the Jeep Compass.
01:01So at the front, you get your grille right in the center of the grille, you get your
01:05camera that's a part of the 360 degree camera.
01:08Apart from that, you can see that you have LED headlight, DRL and fog lamps present.
01:15Also I mean the vehicle looks really muscular from the front end because of the lines and
01:19creases and because of the bumper and you have a fair amount of chrome also present.
01:24If you move on to the side, you will see that the alloy wheels are beautifully crafted.
01:28They are dual tone and if you notice that there is very minimal amount of chrome present
01:34on the side, only on the window trim on the top.
01:37The roof is finished in black.
01:39You have a panoramic sunroof, shark fin antenna and obviously from the side also you get body
01:45colored door handles with request sensors on both the passenger and the driver's side.
01:53Well, you also get blacked out ORVMs, which again have cameras on them because of the
02:01360 degree camera.
02:03Plus you get integrated indicators and if you move on to the back, you get wrapped around
02:06taillights that is finished in LED.
02:09You also get an electronic tailgate.
02:11When you open the tailgate, obviously this is a seven seater.
02:14So when you open the tailgate, there is very little space.
02:18I think around 170 or 160 liters of boot space.
02:23That's I think a little less when you compare it to other boot spaces, but when you fold
02:30on the seats is when the magic happens.
02:32So if you are five people traveling, you can fold the seats, they fold down completely
02:36flat.
02:37And if you want to fold one, so they have 50-50 split.
02:40So you can fold down, you can also fold down the second row.
02:43So I mean, you can make it into a complete flatbed from the first row, I mean, till all
02:48the way to the back.
02:49So these were the exterior features that you get on the Jeep Meridian.
02:53Now moving on to the inside.
02:55Now says this is the Overland, this is the Overland Edition.
03:04So you also, I mean, first of all, when you enter the cabin, you will notice that there
03:08is a lot of things going on on the dashboard.
03:11Looks very premium because there is suede present on the dashboard, there is this copper
03:15golden material that's present all over.
03:18The element looks really nice overall with the blacked out finish.
03:21You get these brown seats with the Overland badgings on the front two seats.
03:25You don't get a flat bottom steering wheel, but the steering wheel is really nice.
03:29It's a chunky steering wheel.
03:30Steering motor controls are really, really awesome.
03:33Plus, yeah, I was talking about the panoramic sunroof.
03:36So to open this, obviously, it's a massive panoramic sunroof, and it opens all the way
03:41to the back.
03:42So the rear passengers can also have a very good view of what's going on on the outside.
03:49One inch infotainment system gives you every information about the car, Android Auto, Apple
03:53CarPlay, all wireless, full digital screen over here, again, a ton of information about
03:58the car.
03:59Moving on, you get two zone climate control, and you get a wireless charger, some charging
04:04sockets.
04:05You get three driving modes, there is sand and mud, there is snow and then there is auto.
04:09So we recommend you to keep it in auto because it, I mean, it just calibrates on its own
04:14and does its work.
04:16Plus, you also have your four-wheel drive low, your four-wheel drive lock, and you also
04:22have hill descent and hold, an automatic hold feature.
04:28Plus, you get an automatic start-stop traction control and the works that you need in the
04:32car.
04:33Plus, one more thing, everything around is finished in soft touch material and leather.
04:37So, I mean, it gives a really, really premium look.
04:40The second row is nice, you get AC vents, again, I mean, it's very comfortable, you
04:45get an armrest, and with two cup holders.
04:47And at the back of the car, you obviously get the Overland badge, I forgot to mention
04:51about that on the boot, and you also have your 4x4 badging that is mentioned over there.
04:55So this is an all-time 4x4, and if you ask about the mileage, I just made a reel about
05:01it, so you can go check it on Instagram, but still, I'll tell you, within the city, it'll
05:04give you somewhere between, in bumper-to-bumper traffic, it'll give you somewhere between
05:08say 8 to 9 kilometers per liter.
05:11And on the highway, if you're driving at a very constant speed, if you hit cruise control
05:16and if you keep on cruising at around 90 or 100, it'll give you between 18 to 20 kilometers
05:21an hour, which is really commendable for a car that's a 4x4 and an all-time 4x4.
05:34So now let's jump into the specs of the vehicle.
05:36So this is powered by a 2.0-litre multijet diesel engine, that's a turbo diesel engine,
05:41and it pumps out 172bhp of power and 350Nm of peak torque, when it's mated to a 9-speed
05:48automatic gearbox, yes, you heard me right, this is a 9-speed automatic gearbox, and this
05:52gearbox is really nice, it shifts quick, also, since this is a 9-speed, so you have a lot
05:58of gear, so it plays around with the torque, it delivers the torque really efficiently
06:02when you are crawling up, and at high speeds, when you're doing more than 100, 120, so if
06:07you hit the top gear, that's the overdrive gear, I mean, obviously, since there are a
06:12lot of gears, so the mileage of the car is, I mean, excellent when, I mean, obviously,
06:17you will not cruise, be cruising at like 160, 180, some people might, but if you cruise
06:22at that speed, you will never get mileage out of your car.
06:25The acceleration is not that brisk, because this car is on the heavier side, so 170bhp
06:32feels okay, I mean, it's decent power, 300bhp is good amount of torque, this car will plug
06:38you out of any situation, I mean, muddy situation, snowy situation, whether there are potholes,
06:45whether, I mean, anything, this car can just go over anything, suspension setup is really
06:50nice, it's not adaptable, but, I mean, it will offer you best of both worlds when you
06:55are, right now, I'm cruising, it's absolutely like, I mean, it's just gliding over the roads,
07:00but when you hit a pothole, it absorbs it really nice, I wish that the NVH levels could
07:04have been slightly better, because the engine noise starts creeping in very early, like,
07:09say, around 2500-3000rpm, if you can just hear it, I don't know if you could hear it
07:16or not, but, yeah, I mean, it will not disturb you, but definitely, it could have been a
07:21little better, now, as far as safety is concerned, a lot of things are there in this vehicle,
07:26so, you get six airbags as standard, you also get ABS, EBD, traction control, the works,
07:32I mean, if I just sit to name it, it will become a very long video, so, yeah, safety
07:38wise also really amazing, and this thing is priced at rupees, almost rupees, 40 lakh rupees
07:45ex-showroom, and in Delhi, if you want to buy this vehicle, it'll cost you somewhere
07:50between 47 to 48 lakh rupees on road, again, that depends on from where you're buying this
07:55vehicle, your road tax and everything, so, yeah, guys, this was the Jeep Meridian Overland 4x4,
08:02and please do not mistake this vehicle to be a Compass XL or an elongated Compass or
08:09something like that, because this is a completely different and a big SUV with a ton of features
08:15that you will not find on the Jeep Compass, also, one more thing that I forgot to mention
08:20is that this gets a beautiful Alpine sound system, the Jeep Meridian, and it just sounds
08:28mesmerizing, the amount of bass and everything that this thing kicks out is awesome, and if you
08:35are at a high volume, trust me, I mean, the damping is so good that, I mean, there's no vibration,
08:40there's no, like, rattling or whatsoever, it is a very good sound system, so, yeah, guys, if you
08:47have 40 lakh rupees to spend on an SUV, and if you want it to be a hardcore off-roader, which
08:54the Meridian is, plus, apart from that, if you want it to be a feature-loaded car, like, touchscreens,
09:01ventilated seats, you have suede on the dashboard and whatnot, so, you can definitely go check out
09:06the all-new Jeep Meridian Overlap 4x4.
