00:00The volcanic smog covered more than 30 places in Batangas.

00:09Residents complained of the smell of the smog affecting their livelihoods.

00:17As a precaution, face-to-face classes were suspended in some places,

00:22especially in the towns surrounded by volcanoes.

00:25Because of the smog, face-to-face classes were also suspended in all areas in Lubang, Occidental, Mindoro.

00:32Classes were also suspended in some places in Metro Manila because of the low air quality.

00:38But according to PHIVOLCS, the reason is not the smog,

00:42but the local pollutants caused by the low air quality.

00:46The VOG or Volcanic Smog is harmful to health and can cause irritation to the eyes,

00:57lungs, and respiratory tract, according to the Department of Health.

01:01Here is a tip-top to protect your health from the dangers of VOG or Volcanic Smog.

01:07According to the DOH, avoid going out to reduce exposure to VOG.

01:12Close the doors and windows of your house so that VOG cannot enter.

01:16If you cannot avoid going out, wear a face mask.

01:20It is better to use N95 face masks.

01:24Drink plenty of water to reduce irritation to the lungs.

01:28Consult your doctor if you find it difficult to breathe or experience other adverse effects of VOG.

01:35Volcanic Smog or VOG from the Taal Volcano was reduced in some parts of Batangas.

01:42According to PHIVOLCS, it was helped by the rain yesterday.
