00:00Jennifer Lopez and Ben Affleck, after months of speculation, the pair are calling it quits.
00:05The singer filing for divorce after two years of marriage, exactly two years of marriage.
00:10And Eva Pilgrim is here with the latest. Good morning, Eva.
00:12Hey, well, this is the news that we all could see coming. As you mentioned,
00:15the speculation around Jennifer Lopez and Ben Affleck has been swirling for months.
00:19But this morning, the timing sending a real statement.
00:26This morning, Bennifer has broken up.
00:29It was supposed to be their happily ever after. The couple reunited after nearly two decades apart.

00:38their second wedding anniversary. TMZ reporting Lopez listing the date of the separation
00:44as April 26, saying the couple had no prenuptial agreement.
00:48If in fact Jennifer Lopez and Ben Affleck don't have a prenuptial agreement,
00:53they've just created a lot of trouble for themselves. They're going to need attorneys.
00:57They're going to need accountants to comb through all the financial records.
01:01And even though it's only two years, they've each made a significant amount
01:04of money in these last two years. The duo, often apart in recent months,
01:09Affleck spotted doing business around Los Angeles while JLo went on a European cruise.
01:14Then to the Hamptons, where she threw herself a Bridgerton themed birthday
01:18with no sign of Ben. The pair shared an emotional and vulnerable side of their relationship
01:24in Lopez's documentary, The Greatest Love Story Never Told.
01:28That heartbreak set both of us on a course to figuring ourselves out, to being better people.

01:44I think I need to forgive myself some things. Affleck, she admitted, was reluctant to be
01:49featured in the revealing behind the scenes project, initially uncomfortable being her muse.
01:55I don't think he's very comfortable with me doing all of this, but he loves me. He knows
02:00I'm an artist and he's going to support me in every way he can. Things that are private,
02:04I had always felt are sacred and special because in part they're private.
02:11So this was something of an adjustment for me. I'm sorry. Do we know each other?
02:15Not yet. J-Lo and Ben first began dating in 2002 on the set of Gigli.
02:25They quickly became America's it couple.
02:30And were due to marry in 2003, but called off the wedding just four days before. They later split
02:36in January of 2004. J-Lo opened up about that time to People Magazine. We didn't try to have
02:44a public relationship. We were kind of the hot couple at the time. And we may have played into
02:50that at the beginning because it was fun. And then it was not fun. Then it was like destroying us.
02:56Affleck went on to marry actress Jennifer Garner. The couple had three children.
03:01Lopez married superstar singer Mark Anthony and had twins.
03:05I know a little bit something good.
03:09Both of those marriages ended in divorce. J-Lo appeared to find happiness during her two-year
03:15engagement to baseball icon Alex Rodriguez. But the star said Affleck always held the key
03:21to her heart. In 2021, the pair rekindled their romance and made it Instagram official.

03:34The surprise Vegas nuptials came just three months later.
03:38Somebody's getting married.
03:39But the Hollywood fairy tale didn't last. A source close to J-Lo telling People Magazine,
03:44she tried really hard to make things work and is heartbroken.
03:48The kids are a top priority, as they always have been.
03:53And it's interesting to note here, J-Lo filed for divorce in L.A. County Superior Court
03:57pro per or without an attorney. So it will be really curious to see how this plays out legally.
