02:53The entrepreneurial sector in Venezuela is growing and driving the country's economy
02:58which is reinventing itself to move forward.
03:02More details in the following story.
03:05For almost two years, Gabriela has been occupying this busy corner of the Candelaria sector
03:11in downtown Caracas.
03:13In this four meter by two meter truck, her beauty truck Gabis, she placed two manicure
03:20chairs and a hairdresser's stand and set out on her own.
03:25From necessity, inventiveness was born.
03:33In pandemic I came up with the idea of why not do it inside the truck, which we already
03:38had without any use.
03:40It took me a while to convince my husband of the idea, but in the end I convinced him
03:45and he helped me to execute it and to this day he is the one who carries out the logistics
03:49part.
03:54Gabriela is part of a sector growing in Venezuela under the optimism and support of the government.
04:01According to President Nicolás Maduro Moros, the national economy grew by 8% in the first
04:07semester of 2024 with an optimistic projection for the rest of the year.
04:13Part of this rising rate is the work of the entrepreneurs who not only guarantee their
04:18personal economy but also benefit others with employment and possibilities.
04:28Working has been like a trial and error test and it has been giving us little by little,
04:32but I have seen a little economic growth in my family.
04:35In the girls who work here and well, little by little we are getting things by saving
04:40and knowing how to manage.
04:48After I started working here I began to have economic growth with the number of clients
04:52that come to me.
04:54I was able to raise enough money to buy my motorcycle, buy some things for my house.
05:01In addition to her 20 years of experience in the beauty industry, Gabriela has a degree
05:07in administration from the Francisco de Miranda University and has added to her salon skills
05:13in digital marketing, social networks and new communication trends.
05:19All of this, in addition to her perseverance, has earned her a stable base of clients.
05:30I have already been here for about a year and I started to enjoy the services of this
05:34cable truck, because I was going to the supermarket one day to do my shopping with my sister and
05:48I always found the place so beautiful that I didn't believe that a truck had been conditioned
05:52to provide a service to the ladies made by a lady.
05:59As of August, 1,450,000 entrepreneurs are registered, while the authorities project
06:07that the figure will reach 3 or 4 million entrepreneurs.
06:11For this, credits and legal openings are available that allow those who have a dream, a talent
06:18or a skill to promote it and take it to the real world.
06:22Gabriela is already aspiring to great things.
06:26Well, the truth is that I would like to have a beauty truck Gabi at least in every parish
06:33in Caracas.
06:37That's my next project that I have here.
06:45In Venezuela you can do it.
06:47Yes, it is possible.
06:48Sometimes people come and see us and they are astonished.
06:51They tell me about the capacity of the Venezuelans to receive people.
06:57Venezuela looks inward and bets on its own if it is about improvement and growth, so
07:03that those who do for themselves, from their own entrepreneurship, small businesses and
07:09initiatives, do for a good cause.
