00:00Welcome to the Cochraja Desai Stadium, where the first quarterfinal takes place.
00:18North East United FC will be taking on the Indian Army football team.
00:24And this is the match number 37, but the most important quarterfinal.
00:30You're watching the 133rd edition of the Indian Oil Durand Cup, powered by Coal India,
00:34organized by the Indian Armed Forces and supported by the Government of Assam and BTR.
00:47And we're off. It's quarterfinal number one coming your way. This is the 133rd edition of
00:51the Indian Oil Durand Cup. On the one hand, you've got Indian Army football team taking on
00:56North East United. Indian Army wearing their green and white kit, attacking, of course,
01:00from the left to right of your TV screens. North East United in their all red kit,
01:04attacking from the left to the right of your TV screens. It's a long season and you've got
01:09a good move being built up from the right flank for North East United. Guillermo being found,
01:13Guillermo with the shot and what a save by Mala.
01:16To his element, look at that reflex from him.
01:26Ashir puts that ball in, falls to Bemamad, finds him beautifully for Maya Kanan.
01:33Takes the turn, just no power in the shot.
01:37Playing a hybrid role in his first year as Indian coach. It is, of course, Manolo Marquez,
01:40head coach of FC Goa. Someone who knows Indian football all too well and I'm guessing all these
01:46boys would be hoping that the coach is watching each and every game that is available. Meanwhile,
01:51there's a bit of aji-baji now between Lit and Seal. Alan Thapa, of course, would be hoping to
01:56put in a good ball now because you've got numbers in the box. You put in numbers in the box to
02:00challenge the North East United. The ball seems good. It seems very good and the save, equally
02:10good from Kurmit of North East United. When you talk about free kicks, this is what happens over
02:15there, especially when you talk about the physicality back there. They've got all tall
02:18players but look at that. How he gets sneaks inside, just puts that ball, his header is inch
02:24perfect over there. Coming from the left, Pradeep. Here come Indian army. This is a brilliant end to
02:30this first half. End to end stuff happening at Kokhrajar. Options in front, there's an option
02:35down that left flank. Dinesh has space for the shot, takes the shot, brilliantly saved as well.
02:42How is Indian army not one goal up in this first half? What a free-flowing football this has been.
02:47Look at that, the number of greens up front and then defence gets a little bit deeper inside,
02:53acres of space over there on the left. He just had to keep that ball on the target. He did that.
02:58Look at the goalkeeper, rightly makes himself like a wall in front of him. Here's the new man,
03:04straightaway comes into play, lit and sealed. Now how much more of him are we going to see in this
03:07first 45? Got a lonely figure in the first 45 and large parts of that is due to the
03:13brilliant shot taken. Wonderful shot, wonderful connection. Unable to keep it on target,
03:21rightfully applauded by his coach as well.
03:26Meanwhile, here comes Jithin MS, gets past two players with these.
03:30Now he has options, he has options for the shot. Finds one of the Indian army players.
03:36That was the new man in as well, Thoi. So both the substitutes at both ends,
03:40causing problems for either side. Yeah, he seems like one of those players,
03:43Guillermo, who could get under your skin. Those intelligent players always pops up in the box.
03:49Here he comes again with the header and there it is. It's been coming, it has been coming
03:55and who it has fallen into? It's fallen into the feet of Nestor. Goal number one of quarterfinal
04:01number one of this edition of the Durant Cup. And finally, first goal in this competition,
04:06this case of the competition has come to North East United. Brought down brilliantly by Guillermo
04:13and a first time shot by a man who looks supremely good. Supremely good so far,
04:19makes no mistake with that left foot. Guillermo,
04:22combining with Nestor, opening the scoring for North East United.
04:29Puts in a good ball. He's got a sweet left foot on him. Guillermo again popping up at
04:35the right space at the right time, making a nuisance of himself.
04:41This is something that strikers would love to be right in front. The goalkeeper comes out,
04:46nowhere there. Lovely save from Pradeep. Just love to see the awareness as far as the strikers.
04:57But what about this man, Jitin Singh? Jitin, he has been brilliant. A little bit of cramps on the
05:02legs surely. And straight away brought into the game by Bemamar, Radeem Talang, first time pass,
05:08opts for a one-two, ably put in, puts in that cross. How about that for a finish?
05:17What a finish by Guillermo. All in the right place at the right time. He's been threatening all along.
05:27Look at that pass, look at that one-two. Stretching, getting back the defences in two and three,
05:33and then that ball. Awkward, awkward piece of work from the striker. This is like a striker's goal, I would say.
05:41Meanwhile, at the other end, come North East United.
05:51Ajare, very nearly got the third goal for his team, but it wasn't to be.
05:59Seems like Indian Army football team has finally accepted their fate.
06:02Can't really do too much about it. It's been a good competition nonetheless, Henry, for them.
06:06And there you have it, the first semi-finalists of this edition's Durant Cup are North East United.
06:18Beating Indian Army football team by two goals to nil, both goals coming in from Nestor Olbjork
06:24and Guillermo Hierro, 52nd minute and the 73rd minute.
06:28North East United continue in the tournament, while at the end of the road for Indian Army football team.
