00:00Hey it's Adrian and today I'm taking a look at Soundpeats brand new capsule 3 pro plus.
00:05Now these actually sound better than the Soundpeats Air 4 pro which already sounded
00:09fantastic to start with but that's thanks in part to the new XMEM silicon drivers in here
00:14and you're going to be seeing a lot of earbuds with the XMEM drivers but for the price of these
00:19costs these are an excellent value right now. On top of that we also have LDAC active noise
00:24cancellation transparency mode they're also super lightweight and comfortable to wear
00:28and you can get up to 43 hours of battery life with the charging case. These are also super loud
00:34and they're the loudest pair of earbuds I've used so far. Now there are a couple of features missing
00:39that may be deal breakers for you so let's take a closer look at how well they perform
00:43and a big thanks to Soundpeats for sending these out for review. In the box we have the Soundpeats
00:48capsule 3 pro, a user guide, a bunch of stickers, USB type-a to type-c charging cable and additional
00:54ear tips. The carrying and charging case for the capsule 3 pro plus really reminds me of the
01:00Soundpeats Air 4 pro case as well and we have the writing on there hear your imagination which is
01:06Soundpeats slogan along with an LED indicator light whenever you're charging this up and just to show
01:12the battery status. Now we also have a USB type-c port to charge it and a button to help with pairing
01:18and resetting. On the very rear we have the Soundpeats writing right there and then we just
01:24have this pretty much type of matte finish all the way around. It is catching a little bit of
01:30the oils from my finger but not really fingerprints exactly. Now when you open it up this is what it
01:36looks like so it looks like we have some protective peels here to just prevent it from discharging
01:44and in terms of taking it in and out well it's very easy to just pop the earbuds in and out of
01:50the case effortlessly. And here's what the earbuds look like up close so taking a look at the side
01:57we have the Soundpeats logo right here and this is where the touch control is and then there's
02:02this type of brass or gold type of finish here that's very smooth to touch. At the very bottom
02:08we have the charging contacts some microphone ports and then this is what the speakers look
02:15like and this is using their XMEM drivers which are 12 millimeter dynamic drivers which are
02:23supposed to produce much better sound than drivers that use a plastic type of membrane. So this is
02:30the right earbud and then we have the left earbud and yes the design pretty much reminiscent of what
02:36the Air 4 Pros look like but these are supposed to deliver far better sound which we'll test out
02:42later. The earbuds are super lightweight coming in at only 5 grams each and when you add the
02:47carrying case it comes up to 50 grams. Here's a quick look at some of the specs feel free to pause
02:52or jump ahead to the next section. I've downloaded the Peats Audio app so I'm now going to pair the
02:57earbuds for the first time so I'll click on add device and I'll just open the case up and I did
03:03remove the protective peels on here so let's go to pairing and I can already see it here so capsule
03:103 pro plus paired and it is that easy we're already done. Now what I can do additionally is I could go
03:19into the settings here and I could see that the toggle for LDAC is off. Now if I want the best
03:24quality sound coming out of these since my phone supports it I'm going to have to toggle LDAC on
03:30but I will lose multi-point functionality. Now that the capsule 3 pro plus is connected to my
03:35S24 Ultra I've enabled the option for double device or multi-point and I've already disabled
03:41LDAC. Now what I'm going to do to pair it on my second phone is I'll just turn Bluetooth off on
03:46my first phone and then I'll go ahead hit scan on my Z Fold 6 and I'll wait for it to find the
03:53capsule 3 pro plus right on here. Here we go tap on that and let's pair it and I could see that it's
04:00now connected on my Z Fold 6. I'll go ahead turn Bluetooth back on connect it right here
04:12and we could see that it's simultaneously connected to both my Z Fold 6 and my S24 Ultra
04:19and let's do a quick demo so I'll play the audio from the Z Fold 6.
04:27I can just pause it right there and play it on the S24 Ultra.
04:41Let's take a look at the options in the Pete's Audio app. So once you open the app up and the
04:46earbuds are connected you can see the battery level for the right and left earbud. You can also
04:50cycle through noise cancelling, normal mode or the transparency mode. You can also disable all
04:56touch controls so that you just use your device for the controls. Enable game mode where you'll
05:00have up to 70 milliseconds of latency and then you can also enable the double device or multi-point
05:07connectivity which will disable LDAC. So if you're having problems pairing make sure this option is
05:12toggled on and then if we go into custom key this is where you could remap the touch control. So I
05:18have it set exactly how I like it but you can see that you know if I tapped on say the long press on
05:24the right earbud I can go ahead and pick whatever I like or set it to undefined. So you do have a lot
05:31of options on here. If we tap on the menu in the top right corner we can take a look at the device
05:35information check to see if there's any firmware upgrades which there's not and then you can also
05:40go ahead and change the headphone prompt tone so you can set it to English, Chinese, German or
05:46Japanese. On the bottom we could tap on this equalizer icon here and we have this option for
05:51adaptive equalizer. It does mention to turn off music before testing. Now I haven't used this
05:57because I've been perfectly happy with the equalizers that come here. So under the preset
06:02equalizers you can expand it and I've been switching between Soundspeed Classic and the
06:08electronic one so those are my two preferred and you do also have a bass boost but I already find
06:13the bass to be quite adequate even on the electronic setting here. Now you can also go
06:20ahead and set up to eight different custom equalizers if you like so you can fine-tune
06:25everything exactly how you want it. On the last tab this is where we can change the settings in
06:30the app so here are the available languages that can either follow what's on the phone
06:34you can switch between a simplified traditional Chinese, English, French, German, Italian, Spanish
06:40and Japanese. The touch controls are fantastic and very responsive on here so a single tap
06:46on the right one will increase the volume and a single tap on the left will decrease the volume.
06:51Now a double tap will pause music and a double tap again will resume music and I've set it for both
06:58the right and left to function in the same way with the double tap. Now if I do a triple tap it's
07:03going to forward to the next track and then a triple tap on the other one will go back to the previous
07:07track and then pressing and holding for 1.5 seconds you can switch it to do you know active noise
07:13cancellation, voice assistant, game mode, etc. All right let's talk about the sound performance since
07:18it's fantastic on these thanks to the new XMEM silicone drivers. Now compared to the Air 4 Pros
07:24they use a plastic membrane for the drivers but these are using a silicone membrane which promises
07:30faster response times and it makes it more robust as well. And yeah the XMEM silicone drivers are not
07:35marketing hype they actually do deliver so I listen to these with LDAC on. I use the electronic
07:42equalizer most of the time and sometimes I would go to the Soundfeeds Classic but I only have to
07:47keep my volume pretty much between 50 to 60 percent and these sounded so fantastic. It was loud enough
07:54for me because generally on other pairs of earbuds I'm listening you know around 80, 90 sometimes
07:59even close to 100 percent. I can't even go that near to 100 percent with these because they're
08:04just how loud, rich, and expansive they sound. And if you're a bass head you're not going to be
08:08disappointed with these so as soon as you put these on you're going to be using the classic
08:13equalizer. I highly recommend switching to the electronic equalizer. It's really going to boost
08:17the bass but there is also a dedicated bass boost equalizer. I find it does a little bit too much
08:22but if you listen to you know bass heavy songs like Get Low by DJ Saik you're going to hear that
08:27you know nice sharp thump with a good long bass decay. Vocals also come through very cleanly and
08:34pristinely on these. Of course it's going to depend on the equalizer you're using but they've tuned
08:39these very well with these 12 millimeter dynamic drivers. And quick note so the Soundfeeds Air 4 Pro
08:44have 13 millimeter drivers but these are just tuned and sound much better with the XMEM silicon
08:50drivers. So yeah it really does deliver you know a rich and expansive soundstage and like I showed
08:56earlier you know you do have up to I believe eight different equalizers so you can really fine tune
09:01it for any type of music you're listening to. When it comes to active noise cancellation I would just
09:05rate the performance as average. I mean they do a decent enough job but it's also going to depend on
09:11the fitment you know how well these adapt to your ear and then also the volume you're listening to
09:16music around. So even when I'm listening to 50 to 60 percent I could still you know kind of snap my
09:21finger and hear a little bit of noise coming through even with active noise cancellation turned
09:27on. So yeah don't expect any miracles. However when it comes to transparency mode it was very
09:32transparent. There are some modes where it's like a little bit muffled sounding but with these the
09:37transparency mode works perfectly. These are also super comfortable and lightweight coming in at
09:42only five grams per earbud and I normally wear these for three to four hours at a time without
09:47any issues and even when I'm like brushing my teeth at night I have these on and even though
09:51my mouth's moving all weird they do a pretty good job of just you know kind of staying in place even
09:55if I bang on them it's still pretty fine. So I've used these on a couple of calls so far and I didn't
10:00have any complaints like the audio was unclear or like I sounded too far away but here's a demo of
10:05what the microphone pickup sounds like. All right I'm going to do a microphone test so you could
10:09hear what the audio pickup sounds like. Here's a demo of what the Soundpeats Capsule 3 Pro Plus
10:15microphone sound like when speaking in a fairly quiet room and here's what the microphone sound
10:21like in terms of noise cancellation. So I have some simulated background noise playing right there.
10:27Here's an example of what the Soundpeats Capsule 3 Pro Plus sound like when speaking in a fairly
10:33noisy environment. And if you plan on doing casual gaming on your phone you could turn on
10:47the game mode which is going to drop the latency to as low as 70 milliseconds. The battery life is
10:52rated for up to six and a half hours on these but in my testing I've gotten between three to four
10:56hours. Now if I listen with LDAC and ANC on and with the volume set to around 50% I'm getting a
11:02little over three hours. Now if I turn LDAC off keep ANC on and the volume again at around 50%
11:09I'm getting a little over four hours. So yeah it's possible to probably get more than that
11:13if you're willing to drop your volume down and do without ANC. So something to be mindful of.
11:18So yeah the Soundpeats Capsule 3 Pro Plus are an easy recommendation from me and they're definitely
11:23in my top five pair of earbuds. They're also the loudest pair of earbuds that I've ever used. Now I
11:29did mention a couple of things were missing from these. So there is no in-ear detection or
11:34smart wearing detection sort of when you pull them out or put them back in it just automatically
11:39pauses or resumes video playback. And there's also no wireless charging on the case. Again
11:44not super big things but if it's something you look for just be mindful of that. But yeah these
11:49are my first earbuds that I've tested with the XMEM Silicon driver and they definitely delivered.
11:54They're just very well tuned for basically any type of music. So if you're interested in picking
11:59up the Soundpeats Capsule 3 Pro Plus I'm going to leave some links down below along with the
12:03coupon code it brings it to around $58-$59 US on sale which is fantastic value for just how good
12:10these sound. If you pick up the Capsule 3 Pro Plus I'd love to hear your thoughts in the comments
