Slingshot Movie Featurette - A psychological thriller starring Casey Affleck and Laurence Fishburne, Slingshot follows an elite trio of astronauts aboard a years-long, possibly compromised mission to Saturn's moon Titan. As the team gears up for a highly dangerous slingshot maneuver that will either catapult them to Titan or into deep space, it becomes increasingly difficult for one astronaut to maintain his grip on reality. Slingshot is directed by acclaimed Swedish filmmaker Mikael Håfström, director of many movies including Vendetta, Days Like This, Evil, Drowning Ghost, Derailed, 1408, Shanghai, The Rite, Escape Plan, Quick, Outside the Wire, and the thriller Stockholm Bloodbath.

00:00Gentlemen, let's try and keep our heads on our shoulders.
00:06I was initially attracted to Slingshot because I like science fiction, first and foremost.
00:13We're awake.
00:14Good.
00:15They wrote within the genre, but also managing to do something unique and original.
00:22What a roller coaster, that's what I thought.
00:28What a roller coaster.
00:31I have done a number of science fiction movies, Event Horizon, The Matrix Trilogy.
00:37Slingshot is similar to Event Horizon because the ship was a character as well, but this
00:42ship's character is even more mysterious.
00:44If we can't solve the issue, we may not make it to Titan.
00:48Our mission is to go out to one of the moons of Saturn called Titan.
00:53The idea is we leave Earth, we fly to Jupiter, piggyback on Jupiter's gravitational pull
00:59and slingshot ourselves further out into space.
01:04It's what happens to these three individuals as they go deeper and deeper into the unknown.
01:10We need to work as a team.
01:13Are we in agreement?
01:16Slingshot is about what happens to your mind millions of miles from Earth going into this
01:20hibernation cycle.
01:22Hello, John.
01:25My first impressions of the ship, I was really blown away.
01:28They did an awesome job of making something that felt sort of believably near future and
01:34also cinematic.
01:35Everything here is practical, very few visual effects shots.
01:39It felt like you could take off with this ship.
01:43The audience can look forward to the combination of sci-fi and psychological thriller.
01:49There are no clear-cut answers, which becomes a really cool experience for audiences.
