00:00Hey guys, this is Zoltan Batry from Five Finger Death Punch and we are in Birmingham.
00:30This is Birmingham, this is the cradle of heavy metal, so you know, this is kind of
00:44like, you're going to know where you're at if they're throwing piss at you in a bottle,
00:50then you know that it's not happening.
00:52It was awesome and you know, that was basically the idea, we wanted to do a surprise for Rob
00:58Hofford, he's from Birmingham, so we figured this is going to be a proper surprise, this
01:02is a lot shown on this European tour and I think this is the best way to finish it, you
01:07know.
01:09Nobody knew, even our booking agent or management, nobody knew that we asked Rob if we would
01:15come down and again, he's in Birmingham, this is his hometown, so nobody knew, it was a
01:21complete surprise.
01:22The song that we did together went number one, you know, in the States, so it's a crown
01:27jewel in the whole thing.
01:46We knew that Rob was a fan of the band because he did an interview on television and we heard
01:52him saying that one of his favorite bands from the new crop is Five Finger Death Punch,
01:57so as we were recording this last album, there was a tune where, basically the song that
02:03he ended up singing on, but we were talking about it in the studio and said, hey, this
02:07kind of has a little bit of that old school metal, you know, 80s vibe a little bit, you
02:12know, a little bit Ozzy, a little bit Judas Priest maybe, and we just had this wild idea
02:16like hey, do you think, you know, if we would reach out, would he sing on this?
02:19And it's a long shot, like, you know, he's a metal god, you know, I'm pretty sure he's
02:25busy striking down the non-believers in somewhere, you know what I mean, throwing lightning and,
02:29you know, whatever metal gods do, and our manager, you know, reached out and he actually
02:35listened to the song and he was like, oh my god, I love this song, I want to be involved
02:39and he flew into Las Vegas where we were recording, so actually he recorded this song right in
02:43front of us, so we were in the studio and he's singing in a booth, so I'm like, if I
02:46get striked down by lightning right now, I'm good, I did something good in life, you
02:53know, and it was pretty amazing, he was hanging out with us for a couple of days, you know,
02:58the tour stories and what not he has, I mean, imagine, he's been doing it since the 70s, so.
03:16We are here, like, the third time this year, you know, and we keep coming back and pretty
03:26much 2014 we're gonna probably do about 2-3 tours here, it's in the works, so it is going
03:32to happen, you can pretty much say it's a fact, unless, you know, there is some situation
03:37going on in Kiev, so unless we never make it out of there, you know, there's gonna be
03:42a Europe tour in March.
04:16Give it up for the God of God, Jeff Bush!
