00:00Hi, welcome back to my channel, in this video, I will explain the ending of Prey, so, let's
00:05begin.
00:06Prey, formerly titled Kalahari, is a 2024 American action-thriller film written and
00:10directed by Mukunda Michael Duell.
00:13The movie follows a young couple who are forced to run for their lives in the Kalahari Desert.
00:18After their lives are threatened by an extremist militant group, a young couple must flee their
00:21missionary post in the Kalahari Desert.
00:24But when their aircraft crashes in an animal preserve, they must battle man and beast in
00:28a fight for their lives.
00:29Here is everything you need to know about the ending, just to let you know this video
00:32will contain spoilers.
00:34Andrew and Sue are American missionaries living in a rural village in Africa.
00:39Andrew is a doctor and his inability to save people due to the lack of medical supplies
00:43is killing him slowly.
00:45Things turn worse for the couple when they're told to make a quick exit.
00:48The Boko Haram soldiers are on their way.
00:51The jihadist organization doesn't give Andrew much of a choice but to leave.
00:55They manage to catch a plane that looks like it's been through a couple of wars at least.
00:59Grun, the pilot of the plane, allows Andrew and Sue a seat each for 10,000 rands, without
01:04luggage.
01:06Desperate for a way out, Andrew agrees.
01:09There's also a group of white teenagers, Tyler, Max, and Chrissy, along with their guide Tabo,
01:14who boards the plane.
01:15The plane doesn't stay in air for very long, and it crashes in the Kalahari Desert.
01:20Chrissy doesn't survive the crash, and the rest of the characters are stuck in a desert
01:24that is famously known as Lion Country.
01:27How does Sue die?
01:29After the crash, Andrew finds his wife's legs badly stuck under a seat.
01:33Grun suggests that the Kwana village is the day's hike, and they shouldn't stay put in
01:36Lion Territory.
01:38Grun is an idiotic egomaniac who wouldn't look out for anybody else but himself.
01:43Andrew decides to stay with his wife while the rest of the group goes to the village
01:46and sends help.
01:48Grun takes the group in the wrong direction while everybody is exhausted and severely
01:51dehydrated.
01:53Max had warned Grun before about the wrong turn, and seeing he was right, he loses it.
01:58Max snatches Grun's pistol and leaves the group to find the village on his own.
02:02The first lion attack takes Sue while the camera focuses someplace else entirely.
02:07The group returns to find a shattered Andrew almost choking Grun to death, blaming him
02:11for the death of Sue.
02:13Tabo uses the only flare gun to separate them, which also means that the chances of getting
02:17rescued are even less now.
02:19How does Grun help to survive the lions?
02:22Andrew is dismayed and in too sullen a state to think of anything else but Sue.
02:26Grun figures out that if they were to survive the lions, the pilot's cabin is the only way.
02:31With a room for only two people, he and Tabo decide to take Andrew in too.
02:35Tyler, the rich brat, offers Tabo a million dollars to let him in.
02:40Tabo sees the vanity of white people and rejects the offer.
02:44Grun helps Tyler by setting him up with a campfire.
02:47The repeated use of the word fire makes for a good laugh.
02:50When the night comes, Tyler is drowsy and struggles to keep himself up.
02:54A snake makes its way into the pilot's cabin, and that's the only seemingly real animal,
02:59along with a scorpion, we see in this movie about lion attacks.
03:02However, Tyler sleeps while his life is in danger, and three pairs of shining eyes indicate
03:07he doesn't have much time.
03:09While the lions rip Tyler apart, Grun, Tabo, and Andrew hold on to the door.
03:14The snake bites Tabo, and Andrew's low-effort treatment couldn't save his leg from going
03:18almost paralyzed.
03:20What happens when the terrorists catch the survivors?
03:23A limping Tabo and Grun try to move on from the death of Tyler and find the way to the
03:27village.
03:28Andrew had given up hope, and he stayed back.
03:31Grun sees a beacon of hope when a jeep comes towards them.
03:34The joy and hope don't last for long, it's the Boko Haram terrorists.
03:39The terrorists capture three of them without paying much attention to their words.
03:43Tabo tries to reason with them, being the only one who can speak Zulu.
03:47The terrorists consider Tabo nothing more than a servant of the whites and shoot him
03:50in cold blood.
03:52They find the rhino horns Grun used to smuggle and hold Grun and Andrew as hostages while
03:56their people arrive with a truck.
03:58After hours of absolutely nothingness, the terrorists decide to take a nap while the
04:02hostages are a few meters away, unrestrained.
04:05Grun decides to try his luck, and with the timely assistance of Andrew, they manage to
04:09kill both terrorists.
04:11Does anyone make it out of Kalahari?
04:14After surviving a plane crash, stock footage shows lions and three amateur soldiers of
04:18Boko Haram.
04:19Grun and Andrew try to make their way out of the desert.
04:23Grun's change of heart was apparent when he took responsibility for the smuggling instead
04:26of letting Andrew die.
04:28Grun carries a weak Andrew to a safe place surrounded by rocks.
04:32A scorpion walks all over a sleeping Andrew.
04:35A loose rock falls down the blowing wind gives the lions a whiff of the prey.
04:39Grun's abrupt personality change is established by this point, as he tells Andrew that he
04:43admires how helping Andrew made him feel good after a long time.
04:47Grun rubs blood all over himself to be a distraction and a bait for the lions.
04:51The lions get the brunch they were looking for in Grun, and a half-dead Andrew tries
04:55to find his way.
04:57Andrew keeps going back to a place where it looks like he's lost faith in God.
05:01Another prolonged nap ends, and he finds himself waking up to the creepy hyena laughter, it's
05:05the actual subtitles.
05:07Just when Andrew is about to bash a couple of hyenas with a piece of wood he found on
05:11the ground, a miraculous thunder strikes right in between them.
05:14The hyenas are gone, and it starts raining, only for Andrew to fall asleep again.
05:19He's eventually saved by the same people he once tried to help, people from the village
05:23where he used to be the doctor.
05:25Andrew meets Sue in a dream just before he's rescued, and the credits roll.
