German police arrest man suspected of killing three people in Solingen

00:16that the man police were looking for was taken into custody.
00:19Reuel gave no further details, but the built-in Spiegel News websites reported that the suspect
00:25had given himself up.
00:27The arrest comes after the so-called Islamic State group claimed responsibility for the attack.
00:32In a statement published on its AMAK News website earlier on Saturday,
00:36the group said the attack had been carried out to avenge Muslims in Palestine.
00:41People alerted police shortly after 9.30 p.m. local time on Friday to an unknown attacker
00:47who had wounded several people after stabbing indiscriminately on a downtown square.
00:52Solingen was hosting the Festival of Diversity to mark the 650th anniversary of the city.
00:58It was supposed to run until Sunday, but the event has since been called off.
