00:00seven and a half is the wind total as well in New Orleans.
00:06Donnie, a team that you and I were both optimistic about
00:09entering 2023 was the same. Derek Carr was the new
00:13quarterback in the Big Easy. Defense was really good under
00:17Dennis Allen. Some offensive pieces in place for Derek Carr
00:21to utilize at his disposal. It was a winning season for New
00:26Orleans, but it wasn't necessarily what we expected
00:30and ended unceremoniously with Jamis Winston defying his head
00:36coach, not taking a knee and scoring a touchdown. Jamis now
00:40of course in Cleveland, but it didn't lead to many questioning
00:44if Dennis Allen was the right guy to lead this New Orleans
00:47team moving forward. He's back as the leader of the Saints.
00:51Yeah, they got some capable pieces on defense. There'll be
00:54a solid defense overall defensive-minded head coach.
00:56We understand that, but if we're looking at the offense,
00:58I'm just not in love with that offensive line. Question marks
01:01at the tackle position. Question marks at the guard
01:04position. They do have a decent center. Alvin Kamara, another
01:07year. Do we still expect him to be explosive if he's healthy?
01:10Yes. Olave, love him as a wide receiver, but also what are we
01:13getting out of Derek Carr, the quarterback at this point here?
01:15I was high on them last year because you thought the stars
01:17were going to collide. New quarterback in town. Easy,
01:20quote unquote, as we said, not easy schedule, which is what we
01:23thought. I actually thought the Saints were going to be a
01:25double-digit win team last year and win that division going
01:28away, and they weren't able to do it. So maybe it's one of
01:30those seasons where I'm not expecting all that much out of
01:33the Saints, and they do have some pieces to the puzzle, but
01:35again, I just don't think they're as good as the Atlanta
01:37Falcons. I think they're more on the level of the Buccaneers,
01:40like split with them, challenge them, eight to nine wins,
01:43possibility on the season here, but I'm not expecting big
01:46things out of the Saints. Last year for me was such a big
01:49letdown. I'm going to need to see more in the same way that I
01:51take a look at the Atlanta Falcons, Ben, and say, boy, that
01:54offensive line should be able to move some people around. I
01:56don't know if you're going to get that out of New Orleans,
01:58and if you can't win the offensive line, you can't win a
02:01ton of football games for me.
