00:02In this video, I will explain the ending of Strictly Confidential.
00:04So, let's begin.
00:07Strictly Confidential is a 2024 American thriller film directed and written by Damian Hurley
00:11in his directorial debut.
00:13On the anniversary of her best friend's suicide, Mia goes to her house located in the Caribbean
00:17after accepting an invitation.
00:20Mia learns that every family member is holding a secret during her stay.
00:24Upon learning this, Mia tries to find out what happened to her best friend.

00:33Strictly Confidential revolves around Lily's family and her daughter Rebecca's friends.
00:37Lily has a house, which is situated somewhere in the Caribbean, and it's where Rebecca and
00:41her friends come to spend the summer.
00:43But during one of these vacations, Rebecca decided to walk into the open ocean and disappear.
00:48Given how Lily's husband passed away in a similar fashion, Rebecca's death seems like
00:52a case of some kind of hereditary trait.
00:55In order to remember Rebecca on her death anniversary, Mia, Rebecca's best friend, Gemma,
00:59Lily's daughter and Rebecca's sister, Will, Rebecca's boyfriend, James, and Natasha congregated
01:04at Lily's home.
01:06Mia wasn't able to shake off the mysterious nature of Rebecca's death, especially because
01:10Rebecca's suicide note was addressed to her, and she started to make inquiries.
01:14This led her to a woman called Catherine, who was the only therapist around, and Rebecca
01:18apparently used to come to her for help.
01:21Catherine told Mia that Rebecca was pregnant when she died, and Mia connected the dots
01:25and assumed that Rebecca couldn't handle the weight of the pregnancy, and that's why
01:28she died by suicide.
01:30In addition to all this, it was revealed that Will was having an affair with Gemma, and
01:33Natasha was having an affair with Lily.
01:36To make things even more complicated, Mia kept bumping into this random guy, Sebastian,
01:40and she engaged in a one-night stand with James.
01:44And although things seemed random on the surface, they were connected to each other in a weird
01:47manner.
01:48Who tried to kill Rebecca?
01:51Lily and her husband were going through a rough patch because Lily was in a relationship
01:54with Natasha.
01:56When Lily's husband learned about this, he decided to not only confront her but also
01:59break off the marriage.
02:01This led to a violent altercation between Lily and her husband, and she ended up pushing
02:05him to her death.
02:07Since Lily never confessed, her husband's death was ruled off a suicide.
02:12Rebecca had suspicions about her mother's extramarital affair, but when she learned
02:15that it had led to her father's death, she felt extremely disturbed.
02:19The situation became all the more sticky for Rebecca when, on a drunken night, she got
02:23intimate with James.
02:25Since Will was having an affair with Gemma, his relationship with Rebecca was non-existent.
02:30So she knew that she was pregnant with James' child.
02:33She went to Catherine in the hopes that she'd help her decide whether or not she should
02:36abort the unborn child, who was named Mia by Rebecca.
02:40Catherine told her that if Rebecca didn't want to give birth to the child, she should
02:43write a letter addressed to her and then bid her goodbye.
02:46That would apparently help her through this understandably difficult process.
02:50Rebecca did that and then went out to the beach to drink away her sorrows.
02:54That's where she came across Lily, and she told her that she knew how her father had
02:57died.
02:59Lily told her to sober up and then come home to have a chat about it.
03:02Then, James came to meet Rebecca, and she told him that she was pregnant with his baby.
03:07James loved Mia, and he didn't want her to know the truth.
03:11That was why James tried to kill Rebecca.
03:13Since Rebecca's body wasn't found, she was presumed to be dead, and as the letter was
03:17addressed to Mia, everyone thought it was a suicide note.
03:20However, Rebecca was alive and she was rescued by Sebastian.
03:25He helped her recuperate and prepared her for her eventual confrontation with her friends
03:28and family.
03:30When Rebecca revealed all of these facts to Lily, Natasha, James, Will, Gemma, and Mia,
03:35they were shocked.
03:37James tried to kill Rebecca again because she was going to the police to report all
03:40of this.
03:42Lily risked it all and killed James.
03:45Lily survived the ordeal and Rebecca didn't tell the police that she was her father's
03:48murderer.
03:49I guess she counted Lily's efforts to save her as penance for accidentally killing her
03:53father.
03:54Mia, Will, and Natasha left the island to go back home, which was when it was revealed
03:59that Rebecca hadn't aborted her child, and it's possible that she and Sebastian are going
04:02to look after her, or Rebecca is going to be a single mother.
