  • last month

00:00There is an alert from the WHO all over the world.
00:04Chickenpox is a milder virus.
00:07It is different from smallpox.
00:10Smallpox virus is completely different.
00:12Since it is a new virus,
00:15it is important to give an alert as it hasn't spread yet.
00:18People should be careful.
00:20If someone has a lesion like this, they should be careful.
00:22Actually, if a monkeypox virus is removed and weakened,
00:27it works like a vaccine.
00:28It is the same for any vaccine.
00:30There are already two types of vaccines.
00:34If you get vaccinated, you will get protection.
00:38Clinically, there is only one symptom.
00:42In cowpox, there are only a few lesions.
00:46Later, it turns into pus.
00:48But in smallpox, there are more lesions.
00:52There is a difference between cowpox and smallpox.
00:55There have been deaths as well.
00:57In total, there have been deaths in 4-5 countries around the Congo.
01:03In India, the last case was reported in March 2024.
01:07There have been around 14,000 cases reported.
01:11Out of that, 496 deaths have been reported.
01:15That is why we have issued an alert.
01:19We have to take care of it.
01:20Viruses usually don't have any medicine.
01:23They just give a little protection.
01:26There are a few viruses.
01:27Antiviral agents are not effective against viruses.
01:32Vaccines are effective against them.
01:33Vaccines are used to weaken the virus and give you an injection.
01:39Antibodies are made against it, which give you protection.
01:44There are already two variants of monkeypox.
01:47It is not available in the market right now.
01:50But WHO has a case study.
01:52It is a vaccine.
01:54Since the eradication of smallpox,
01:58the last case was found in Assam in 1978.
02:03There was no reporting after that.
02:05In 1980, it was decided that there was no need for vaccination.
02:10Let's assume that it is no longer needed.
02:12But there are still viruses in some centres.
02:16Some are in America and some are in Russia.
02:19There are still doses of vaccines.
02:22When the vaccine is needed, it can be made.
02:24Let's assume that the smallpox is a symptom.
02:27It is almost a symptom.
02:29Everyone knows this.
02:31People say that if you have smallpox,
02:33sometimes you get it from Chandoli or Bhadohi.
02:35We collect the sample and send it to NIB Pune for confirmation.
02:39It usually comes from smallpox.
02:41It has happened a couple of times.
02:43It is not a smallpox.
