00:00On this day, the film was released.
00:04Jesus! Jesus! Jesus!
00:09Jesus!
00:11He wants to be on the other side.
00:12First of all, I'm very proud to be part of this movie.
00:16As you said, it's a very powerful movie,
00:20a very real movie,
00:25that talks about a real situation that is happening right now.
00:30And that's why I wanted to get involved.
00:33It all started with the song City of Dreams,
00:39a song written by an impressive composer, Linda Perry.
00:45It's been several years since the producers told me about the movie.
00:50A few years ago, I also got involved with Sound of Freedom,
00:54which is a bit similar to City of Dreams.
01:00I already knew what it was about.
01:02These are movies that make your heart beat when you watch them.
01:05They are based on real stories.
01:07City of Dreams is completely based on real events.
01:11It has a lot to do with our Latin community,
01:15with the fact that there are more than 12 million children
01:20who are now involved in child trafficking.
01:25And they are strong movies.
01:28They are movies that fill us with many feelings at the same time.
01:32Of anger, of courage, but at the same time of hope
01:35and the desire to do something about it.
01:37And that's why I wanted to get involved,
01:39because music also plays an important role in this movie.
01:45As you also mentioned in the video clip,
01:47we wanted to take that same line of the movie.
01:51In fact, the director of the video clip is the director of the movie.
01:57It has that same essence, those same colors,
02:00and that same darkness, perhaps we can say.
02:04My children are still very young to get into these details,
02:08but I think that soon they will be conversations
02:10that one has to start having as a father and as a human being.
02:16When you find out and they give you all the facts
02:21of what is happening, the numbers,
02:24the fact that when you think of child trafficking,
02:28you think it doesn't happen here, you think it happens far away.
02:31That has to be very far away.
02:33But you realize that a large number of children,
02:37a large number of those percentages,
02:39are Latino children who end up here in the United States,
02:44that it is happening here, close to us.
02:46And that many people, for whatever reason,
02:50suddenly because it is painful to talk about the subject,
02:53suddenly because we don't know enough about the subject,
02:57but we don't talk about it, we don't talk about it.
02:59And movies like City of Dreams, which are based on real events,
03:04like it opens us up and takes us to a very real world.
03:10And we can feel it, we can feel the pain
03:12that the character of Jesus felt.
03:16We can identify with him, with his courage,
03:19with his desire to fight and move forward.
03:22And it fills us with hope that if we talk about this enough,
03:28suddenly we will end up with this, which is human trafficking.
03:33I love cinema, I love acting.
03:36This year I am involved in City of Dreams as a producer and singing the song,
03:43but at the same time I am involved in another project
03:47that is completely different from this one, but it has to do with cinema,
03:51because it is a romantic comedy, it is a rom-com.
03:55It's called Say a Little Prayer.
03:57I am also involved in the production of the film
04:01and I wrote the music for the film.
04:03I am an actor there.
04:05I play the role of the male protagonist.
04:09And it was very, very fun, because it is a comedy.
04:13That's why I say that they are two completely different worlds,
04:17but I love and I am passionate about cinema,
04:19especially when there is a common denominator, which is music,
04:25which is where it is easier for me to express myself.
04:29I didn't know the real character.
04:31The film is based on several cases.
04:35In several cases.
04:37Obviously I met the actor, Ari,
04:41who is a 20-year-old young man from Puebla, Mexico,
04:45who has done an impressive job,
04:49impressive because his character doesn't speak.
04:52So he says everything with his eyes.
04:55And I think people are going to be impressed.
04:59The film is made with an incredible taste.
05:05It's a hard movie.
05:07It's a real movie.
05:09What you're going to see are things that are happening,
05:12that happen, and that's what we want,
05:15to open our eyes, first of all, to save lives,
05:18because I think if we start talking about the subject,
05:21to normalize it and to see how we can seek help,
05:24there are many foundations,
05:27but the beauty of cinema is that it opens our eyes.
05:31And that's why I wanted to get involved,
05:33and use my voice to be able to talk about the subject
05:37and educate many people who don't know this is happening.
05:41Enjoy these projects,
05:44what is City of Dreams, what will soon be Say A Little Prayer,
05:47and keep enjoying my music.
05:49Thank you very much for your time.
