उत्तर प्रदेश में लगातार हो रही बारिश से सूबे की तमाम नदियां उफान पर हैं। वाराणसी में भी गंगा नदी गंगा नदी का जलस्तर बढ़ा हुआ है। पांचवीं बार गंगा का जलस्तर बढ़ा है जिससे सभी घाट और मंदिर डूबे हुए हैं। घाट पर छोटे रोजगार कर रहे लोगों को भी काफी परेशानी का सामना करना पड़ रहा है। लगभग 1 महीने से नाव का संचालन भी पूरी तरह से बंद है। गंगा घाटों के जलमग्न होने के साथ ही श्रद्धालुओं को स्नान करने में भी खासी दिक्कतों का सामना करना पड़ रहा है।
