Suspected SpaceX Space Debris Found In North Carolina Mountains

A large piece of debris suspected to have been from the reentry of the SpaceX Crew-7 mission was found along a trail in a remote section of the North Carolina mountains.

00:00This is Space.com here in Western North Carolina. I'm sitting here beside a piece
00:04of large space debris that is believed to come off of a SpaceX Crew Dragon
00:09service module, what SpaceX refers to as a trunk. It was discovered here along the
00:14Sunset Summit Trail at the Glamping Collective in Canton, North Carolina.
00:18The groundskeeper was out performing his duties on the trail and discovered this
00:22on May 22nd. As you can see it's a large piece of metal, carbon fiber. It's amazing
00:28so much of it survived the re-entry and it's really thankful it didn't fall on
00:33anybody or any property because this could have done some serious damage.
