00:00Stuart and Alistair Lambert.
00:30With the enforced absence of Laurence Shanklin, a bitter blow to Hart's hopes.
00:34In come Penrice Devlin, Grant Boyce and Vargas from the defeat at Motherwell.
00:39In fact, the only difference to the side that lost in Pilsen is Boyce for Shanklin.
00:48As for the visitors, there's also one significant absentee in centre-back Robin Hranac,
00:53who's been sold to Hoffenheim since the first leg.
00:57And Erik Jyrka is also on the bench.
01:00In come Kadu and Alexander Sojka for Miroslav Kovac's side.
01:11Hart's fans turning up in numbers.
01:15Down Gorgie Way to hopefully roar their side on to victory.
01:20Georgi Kabakov and his Bulgarian colleagues will be in charge of this one.
01:27CHEERING
01:33As Neil was saying, it's a big night for Liam Boyce,
01:36in the absence of his captain the onus will be on him to help provide the goals Harts require.
01:43Pavel Shultz was a real threat to Harts last week,
01:46and will have to be closely watched if they're to progress this evening.
01:51CHEERING
01:53Just a watching brief for the Harts skipper, unfortunately.
02:02Gordon, who broke Harts European appearance record last week,
02:07once again between the posts, and has the captain's armband.
02:11This is the 24th European appearance for Harts, and 87th all told,
02:18having gone past Henry Smith and Steven Presley last week with that appearance.
02:25Let's hope they're still smiling come full-time.
02:37And ahead of kick-off there is going to be a moment's silence,
02:41as there has been across all UEFA matches this week,
02:44for the legendary former Lazio and England manager Sven-Jørgen Eriksson,
02:51who passed away earlier this week.
02:57Pint Castle will pay its respects.
03:11WHISTLE BLOWS
03:27WHISTLE BLOWS
03:32And by all accounts a wonderful man,
03:34and showing great respect from the Harts crowd this evening.
03:42Steven Naismith knows that criticism will continue to come his way
03:48as long as he fails to win football matches.
03:55And the loyally old Victoria Pilsen, manager Miroslav Kovac,
04:01in charge for a second spell, will look to guide his side to victory.
04:12Almost a capacity crowd inside Pint Castle for this one.
04:20It was a fabulous European night here last season,
04:22when Harts turned round a one-goal deficit against Rosenberg,
04:26a late, late Cammy Devlin goal, the clincher.
04:32It was the first time they'd turned round a first-leg defeat
04:36into an aggregate victory for 30 years.
04:45Let's hope they can provide a quick repeat of that this evening.
04:50Michael Stewart alongside me,
04:52what do you think their chances are of actually achieving that?
04:56Well, you've got to say that they've got a good opportunity,
04:58there's no doubt about it,
04:59because as much as Victoria Pilsen have started the season well,
05:06not conceding many goals at all either,
05:09last week showed that Harts are capable.
05:14He was looking to put pressure on the back line there,
05:17it guided back to Marion Tourdon, who keeps his place in goal,
05:22despite the return to good health of Martin Jelinska,
05:27who'd missed a number of games through illness,
05:30but it's still the Slovakian keeper Tourdon who's between the sticks.
05:38Yes, to go back to Al,
05:40Harts have got a wonderful opportunity here to get into the Europa League.
05:44There's no mugs that they're up against,
05:46let's not make any mistake about that,
05:48but certainly last week I was expecting a lot more from Victoria Pilsen,
05:53and Harts showed they were capable.
05:56For all the question marks I might have about the set-up of the team,
06:02the structure, the balance of the squad,
06:05there's still a lot of quality there for Steven Naismith to work with,
06:08and hopefully they can get a positive result here tonight.
06:13Neil McCann was talking about a fast start to get the crowd behind him,
06:18let's see what they can come up with here.
06:24Kingsley looking to apply the pressure at the back as well,
06:27but feels they get the lines cleared.
06:30It's vital that they start brightly,
06:32because you can even just hear the crowd already,
06:34that they're desperate to see something to get behind.
06:38And for Harts, it's not a case of being kamikaze in their approach,
06:42there has to be an element of control to it,
06:45but they've also got to go and get right after the check side here,
06:49so the crowd can get behind it,
06:51and then they can try and feed off of that energy.
07:22It's maybe something that Harts will be able to exploit
07:24if he's playing in an unusual position.
07:27Perhaps, but when you look at the stature of Havel,
07:31he doesn't look like somebody that you would say is uncomfortable
07:37or out of position, when you look at him,
07:39he's physically strong, he's athletic,
07:42we saw that last week when he was playing wing-back,
07:45so perhaps you want to just try and look at positionally,
07:50is he going to be a little bit uncomfortable?
07:53And perhaps that could be the area that the likes of Vargas or Boj
07:57can just look to try and pull onto and get running off of his shoulder.
08:05That's one by Kent, who...
08:09..has been one of Harts' few good performances
08:13at the start of this season.
08:20Victoria Bulls are looking to quieten the home crowd
08:24in these early stages.
08:28All the way back from Dewey to his goalkeeper,
08:31Dewey has moved one in to that central area of the three
08:35from last week.
08:37WHISTLE BLOWS
08:42WHISTLE BLOWS
08:45Great walk there between Penn Rice and Colpitts,
08:49moving on to Ward, but definitely just making sure
08:52both players are OK.
08:57WHISTLE BLOWS
09:08WHISTLE BLOWS
09:13WHISTLE BLOWS
09:19I'm not sure if that's been given as a foul throw,
09:21I think it was, rather than being taken from the wrong position,
09:24or maybe it was the wrong position,
09:26but either way it's going to be a throw-in now
09:29to the visitors instead of Harts.
09:32You can see it's the linesman there that's flagged for that.
09:36Not something that you see happen in a great deal.
09:48And he plays that off Schultz, who, as I say, Michael,
09:52I think we were both pretty impressed by him last week,
09:56as you said, they weren't world leaders in that game
09:58in the first leg, but Schultz certainly looked like the star man.
10:02Yeah, with a great...
10:03He was the one that looked like he was capable of making things happen.
10:10Technically, pretty good.
10:12Lots of energy, constantly getting involved in the game.
10:17Somebody that Harts will need to just keep an eye on.
10:20Back with Greg Gordon, who I've been most frustrated at
10:24having been beaten by that own goal
10:27in the final knockings of the game last week.
10:32It could have been an altogether different contest this evening
10:35had it been starting goal as an aggregate,
10:41but Harts will need to keep an eye on him.
10:43Had it been starting goal as an aggregate,
10:46but Harts would have had to win this one anyway, I suppose.
10:51Yeah, I mean, I understand that sort of thinking,
10:55but it doesn't change things dramatically.
10:59Harts had to score here tonight, regardless.
11:04And the need to approach the game in a positive manner,
11:07whether it was 0-0 or 1-0 down,
11:09of course it's disappointing to lose that late goal,
11:11but still, the game is there for the taking here.
11:15Here's Vargas.
11:19Out to Taylor.
11:21Opportunity here then, Taylor on the left foot,
11:23loads of height, Boyce was looking to get on the end of that
11:26and it's well over the top from Kami Devlin
11:29as Vargas asks the Harts fans to get right behind him.
11:36Well, I'm not particularly sure what Kami Devlin's trying to do
11:39is he trying to have a strike on goal
11:42or is he trying to play it across the face?
11:44I don't know, but it clearly didn't come to anything.
11:54Gerald Taylor in your picture there a moment ago
11:56is Harts' only player who has started all five games,
12:01or all six now, for them this season,
12:04and that just underlines the amount of changes
12:07Steven Naismith has made,
12:10tinkering with the starting XI for every game so far.
12:15Hasn't paid off thus far,
12:17let's see if it works tonight.
12:21Hull's side flag is up,
12:24Harts will get the free kick,
12:26despite having been in possession.
12:29Kingsley gets it back from Devlin,
12:32just to try and cut across his man,
12:35and the referee says it was an infringement there by Yemelka.
12:42Well, it was good play initially,
12:44lovely one too,
12:45I just thought at the end here
12:47Steven Kingsley showed a little bit too much to Yemelka,
12:51but it was a good play.
12:54Unfortunately the referee has decided a free kick for Harts,
13:00this is a good opportunity
13:02to try and put the defence under a wee bit of pressure here.
13:07Fenrice departs the scene,
13:09it's Grant, looks like that's too close to the keeper,
13:11disappointing in these early stages
13:14to give such an easy ball to the goalkeeper,
13:16and as you say, doesn't put any pressure on that defence.
13:21Nonetheless, a comfortable enough start for the home side,
13:25as Grant looks to try and apply some pressure.
13:30Two of them with the clearance.
13:37A little time stretching, but not able to get there,
13:39and Cherve finds Yemelka.
13:42To Kadu, who came on in the first leg
13:45and put in that wonderful cross that led to the goal,
13:48now here's Schultz, Devlin back there,
13:51Yemelka up with the attack,
13:53Grant's header's not entirely convincing,
13:55it's helped goalwards,
13:57but no-one was that particularly convincing.
14:01As Gerald Taylor reports,
14:03it's a bit of a shame,
14:05it's a bit of a shame,
14:07it's a bit of a shame,
14:10As Gerald Taylor reports,
14:12it's a bit of a shame,
14:14it's a bit of a shame,
14:16it's a bit of a shame,
14:18it's a bit of a shame,
14:20it's a bit of a shame,
14:22it's a bit of a shame,
14:24it's a bit of a shame,
14:26it's a bit of a shame,
14:28it's a bit of a shame,
14:30it's a bit of a shame,
14:32it's a bit of a shame,
14:34it's a bit of a shame,
14:36The pain he's in,
14:38can't say I saw it myself.
14:43It's nothing.
14:47What did you see there,
14:48Frankie Kent just trying to nip in
14:50on Schultz there and
14:53fortunately they weren't able to
14:55exploit the gap that was left in the back line there but
14:59Gerald Taylor's obviously just been caught
15:02with Kadu as he was
15:04he took a bit of a heavy touch
15:06hence why it looked as if Taylor might have been able to get to the ball but
15:09two of them are stretching for it
15:11I think he's just been caught with the
15:13the fall through when he's flicking the ball away but
15:16no I mean look, there's nothing there.
15:26Skipping his way down the touchline as
15:28as if he's ready to
15:30come back on.
15:34One well by Boyce, Vargas,
15:36one well by Boyce, Vargas,
15:38Peace in Costa Rica will give chase,
15:40Peace in Costa Rica will give chase,
15:42Kingsley neatly down to Devlin and out Boyce,
15:44Kingsley neatly down to Devlin and out Boyce,
15:46Poor touch from him,
15:48uncharacteristic,
15:50Harts have it back and it's Vargas once more.
15:54Gets the head up and finds Grant.
15:58See that's a perfect example where I just feel
16:00Harts at times, the ball comes to the back of the net
16:02where I just feel Harts at times, the ball comes to
16:04Penrice, he has absolutely
16:06nothing in front of him.
16:08He's only 10 yards inside
16:10their half
16:12and there is nothing in front of him to go
16:14and play forward with.
16:18So is that a problem with the structure,
16:20the set up of the team?
16:22Partly, yes.
16:24But you see
16:26Grant picks it up
16:28not long after it, Penrice is higher up
16:30which is a better structure
16:32but Grant plays that ball forward.
16:34Boyce should have done better with the control
16:36but that is more positive, looking to pass the ball
16:38forward. But sometimes
16:40when the wing back is picking it up
16:42and there is nothing in front of them
16:44they're far too comfortable with just
16:46playing the ball back, trying to retain possession.
16:48That's where I feel Harts need
16:50players who are wanting and
16:52capable to go and commit the opponent
16:54and take them on. 1v1,
16:56go and beat your opponent.
17:00Penrice was
17:02just on his heels there as Boyce
17:04tried to find him but
17:06Harts link up play hasn't been quite
17:08on point at the start and that's
17:10possibly characteristic of a side who
17:12started the season as poorly
17:14as they have. The confidence
17:16isn't there.
17:18Not quite clicking.
17:22Demelka
17:24clear only as far as Boateng.
17:30Very impressive
17:32here on the opening day of the season
17:34against Rangers but it's all been
17:36downhill since then.
17:38Four defeats on the trot.
17:40Here's Vargas, just trying to lift that
17:42over the defender.
17:44Comes out to Boateng
17:46and that's it.
17:48It's all been downhill
17:50since then, four defeats on the trot.
17:52Here's Vargas, just trying to lift that
17:54over the defender.
17:56Comes out to Boateng
17:58Comes out to Boateng
18:00and now Taylor.
18:02Not a bad ball in
18:04but swept away by
18:06Dewayt. That's a good clearance
18:08there from Dewayt. He gets
18:10himself in a good position, the ball's coming in
18:12and it looks as if it's just going to skip up in front
18:14of him. He gets a good solid
18:16block on it and clears the line.
18:28Here's the danger man, Schultz
18:30playing very close up there with
18:32Vachoulin, the
18:34big target man.
18:52Schultz once more.
18:54Emelka likes to get involved
18:56in attacking situations.
18:58Up from left centre back and he's
19:00won his side of corner.
19:02He's done well there.
19:04Big centre half, Emelka winning the corner.
19:06I've got to say we're approaching
19:0815 minutes and it just feels
19:10talking about trying to be aggressive
19:12and getting the crowd
19:14behind it. It feels pretty flat to me.
19:20It's going to be the captain,
19:22Kal Vach.
19:24to take this corner.
19:26Swings it in near post, Kingsley
19:28meets it.
19:30Kadu
19:32and Kingsley once more.
19:36Taylor looks to have recovered from that
19:38knock and it's out of play.
19:50It's pretty quiet around Tyne Castle
19:52after an initial
19:54noise from the
19:56home crowd.
19:58The Minister of Quebec
20:00had spoken about
20:02the atmosphere at Tyne Castle and
20:04how intimidating it could be
20:06and what they were expecting.
20:08I think they'll be quite
20:10pleased with how things are panning out
20:12after the 15 minutes here.
20:22Nice.
20:48Okay, Gordon,
20:50looks long,
20:52voices the target,
20:58voting back to Taylor.
21:16Kingsley looks forward, Dave Lim was in an advanced position
21:18but Jamilka read it.
21:20Taylor doing well but
21:22Dewey clears before
21:24Dave Lim could get back onto it.
21:34Just can't stretch to keep
21:36that in.
21:38Looked like a decent pick out from
21:40Kingsley initially but
21:42the Australian.
21:44O'Keefe looking to change
21:46the side of the attack
21:48there but in the middle of the park
21:50things just feel very disjointed.
21:52There isn't a great deal of combination between
21:54the midfield.
21:56There's no real build up getting played.
22:08Shultz picking up some nice positions
22:10early on.
22:12Trying to curl that one towards the top corner
22:14of the box.
22:16It's a bit of a tough target
22:18on that occasion.
22:20Look at
22:22Victoria Pilsen now.
22:24They're the ones popping the ball around.
22:26They're getting some combination play.
22:28Shultz is never going to trouble
22:30Craig Gordon from there but
22:32they're finding little pockets of space.
22:34Harts haven't been able to string
22:36four or five passes together.
22:38I have to say,
22:40this system doesn't convince me for Harts.
22:42He's got a lot of ground holes
22:44and it just doesn't feel
22:46like this is
22:48particularly
22:50playing to any strength.
22:54Taylors down again.
22:56It's a strong challenge by Caddy.
22:58It looked like a fair enough one
23:00from our vantage point
23:02way up in the
23:04top of the wheat field stand.
23:06He's back on his feet
23:08as Harts continue in possession.
23:12Rills.
23:16Vargas trying to put that through the legs
23:18of Kalwak. He's much too experienced
23:20to ball for that one.
23:28Kingsley quickly helping it on
23:30for Boateng. Taylor ahead of him.
23:42It's actually gone the way
23:44the visitors are for Harts.
23:46We're in pretty comfortable possession.
23:52This Pilsen side had their
23:54match at the weekend postponed
23:56to allow them to prepare fully
23:58for this. I know it's a debate
24:00that we've been having in Scotland
24:02in recent weeks
24:04because of the
24:06situation.
24:08I don't think it's something that's
24:10exclusive to the last couple of weeks.
24:12It's something that's obviously rumbled on
24:14for a number of years.
24:20Caddy clips it forward.
24:22Kent in the way but it falls nicely
24:24for Schultz.
24:26He'll just poke it to Kalwak.
24:28Now Cher from distance.
24:30Kent in the way.
24:32Vargas.
24:34That's a free kick there.
24:36It looked to be.
24:38Vargas has reacted
24:40rather angrily
24:42to the challenge from
24:44Havel because he looked
24:46to be using the forearm
24:48to block him off there.
24:52Vargas had him for pace, I think.
24:54There's no doubt that Vargas had him
24:56for pace in half an hour.
24:58It's a free kick all day long.
25:02You can see here he starts to try
25:04and run across into the
25:06half striker.
25:14For me it's a free kick
25:16every day of the week.
25:28Already,
25:30in the middle of the park,
25:32second balls, Schultz has been
25:34able to pick up
25:36a lot of them.
25:38Midfield from
25:40Vittorio Pilsen just seem to have the upper hand
25:42at this stage.
25:44That's another free kick.
25:46That one has been given.
25:48It's the way he barges into the back
25:50of Vargas. He is troublesome
25:52Vargas, there's no doubt about that.
25:54I think what we've identified
25:56so far this season is his end product
25:58is what lets him down.
26:02100%.
26:04That's silly, silly defending there from
26:06Dewey. You can see
26:08that Vargas is going to
26:10win the ball, but he needs to
26:12recognise what is the striker going to do?
26:14He's controlling it as he's running towards
26:16the sideline there.
26:18Instead, Dewey jumps into the back
26:20now. It's another
26:22opportunity for Hearts.
26:24Grant with the delivery. Again, that's a better
26:26ball.
26:28That came off a Pilsen head, but the
26:30referee doesn't...
26:36I'm with you. I thought it came off of...
26:40Yeah, it looks like it comes off Dewey
26:42there.
26:46It was the slightest of touches, but
26:48the referee
26:50not aware of it.
26:54A better delivery, certainly, from Grant.
27:00Grant does well to keep that.
27:02Now it's Taylor
27:04looking for Vargas.
27:06Dewey with the initial header.
27:08Grant once again.
27:18Taylor looking to come inside Cadou
27:20who read his intentions and has to go back
27:22the way with a rather
27:24nothing pass, but
27:26Kent gets it back to his captain
27:30who himself
27:32miscues the pass.
27:34There's been a lot of long balls from Hearts.
27:36Craig Gordon there trying to clip it
27:38to Penrice Butt.
27:40There's been a lot of
27:42longer balls.
27:44Doesn't feel like it's been a
27:46particularly
27:48fluid performance
27:50so far.
27:52But look, this game is really...
27:54It's there.
27:56Can't emphasise that.
27:58Dewey with his arms round Vargas.
28:00He's taken a big chance as
28:02Costa Rican tries to free himself.
28:04Dewey eventually sticking to his task
28:06well and the offside flag
28:08has ultimately gone up.
28:10So we have a meaningless passage of play.
28:12Could have been curtailed earlier
28:14you feel.
28:16It's all because of the
28:18operation of VAR
28:20of course.
28:28Very evident that Vargas was offside
28:30though.
28:36Perhaps Dewey knew that when he was
28:38wrestling with him inside the penalty box.
28:40Yeah, I mean Michael, as we talked about
28:42during the first leg
28:44last week,
28:46Pilsen, they're on a good run
28:48at the start of this season.
28:50They had a very good season last year
28:52both domestically and in Europe
28:54getting to the quarterfinal of the Conference League
28:56yet they are not
28:58by any means unbeatable for this half-side.
29:00Well, we were saying it last week
29:02in commentary
29:04that Pilsen is not
29:06in a good position
29:08We were saying it last week in commentary
29:10exactly that point.
29:12For all my apprehension
29:14and uncertainty
29:16about what's going on with Hearts
29:18you look at the game and you see it yourself
29:20that it doesn't take
29:22it doesn't need a great deal
29:24here for Hearts to be
29:26right in this tie
29:28and it doesn't really make much
29:30sense when you're talking about
29:32when you look at the stats from
29:34Victoria Pilsen as you've just spoken about.
29:36Vachoulin
29:38looking to make a nuisance of himself
29:40and thankfully for Hearts
29:42it ends up back in the arms of Craig Gordon
29:46It's a big powerful
29:48presence up there
29:50Daniel Vachoulin
29:54Kyrgios has that ball
29:56and James Penrice has run away from it
29:58it doesn't really look as if he's
30:00wanting or
30:02knows where to get it
30:04That's a good ball from Kingsley though
30:06Devlin was in space
30:08Rills
30:10Vargas and Devlin linking up
30:12Penrice looks like he's gone
30:14too early but back the way
30:16comes Devlin for Rills
30:26Tail up, just behind Grant
30:28wasn't a bad idea
30:30A work out OK
30:32Hearts throw in
30:42We know Gerald Taylor's got a
30:44long powerful throw
30:46and let's see if he can put it to use here
30:48as Hearts look to get on level terms
30:50in the tie. Well these are great
30:52opportunities like the free kicks from before
30:54you saw one good delivery from Grant
30:56and all of a sudden it gets the
30:58supporters on side and they get a feeling
31:00of something potentially happening
31:02It may be very simple
31:04but you utilise it
31:06when you've got it
31:08Here it comes
31:12Kingsley back to
31:14Devlin, Grant
31:16Shuttle that back out to
31:18Taylor, it's quickly closed down
31:20by Kadu, Taylor tries to take him on
31:22Grant
31:26Grant will just need to be careful under
31:28pressure there from Schultz
31:40Sorry on you go
31:42I was just going to say when you've got a player like Liam Boyce
31:44we've already spoken about his quality
31:46you need to try and get the ball
31:48onto his feet. At the moment
31:50they're getting thumped up to his head
31:56Is it because Cameron Devlin's not wearing shin guards?
32:02We've seen this referee being quite
32:04strict with the rules already
32:10Is it blood? That's what it is
32:12Come on
32:14Seriously
32:16He's got a scratch on his knee
32:18I mean if the player's fine
32:20he's pulled his sock
32:22I mean talk about
32:24an official dumbgone man
32:30Vargas doing well there
32:32against Hamilton, Kopicz has come back
32:34to help his teammate out
32:36Vargas working away very hard
32:38Penrice is there as well but
32:40Victoria Pilsen just managed to
32:42work their way out of a very tight
32:44corner there
32:48Here's Boateng
32:50Now Taylor, listen to that Hatch crowd get behind their team
32:52as Vargas has the opportunity
32:56Boyce hasn't been able to keep that in
32:58I'm not sure if Vargas knew what he wanted to do
33:00with that and it was neither one thing nor the other
33:02in the end
33:04Just listen to the crowd
33:06This is what they're waiting for
33:08They're waiting to see that real pressure
33:10Vargas gets into a wonderful
33:12position and I think this just sums it up
33:14The final
33:16touch, the last
33:18The end product that just is sorely lacking
33:20Lovely ball
33:22from Gerard Taylor
33:24and that's just
33:26a real opportunity
33:28that goes a begging
33:30and it speaks to what you were talking about before
33:32where Vargas getting into good areas
33:34just not having that
33:36final touch, the end product
33:38that matters
33:46This is more like it
34:00This is more like it, you can hear the crowd
34:06It just feels like there was
34:08obviously a bright first five minutes
34:10or so that you would expect and then there was that lull
34:12certainly the last couple of minutes
34:14but it just feels like
34:16the crowd are feeling like
34:18there's something there
34:20to get behind again
34:24Sojka
34:26against Rowles
34:28knocks it out for a throw in
34:44Trying to keep the noise levels up
34:46There's
34:48Dewey
34:52ends up a long throw in
34:58Gordon with a watchful eye there
35:00and safe hands as well
35:04Immediately gets that out to Taylor
35:06Too much of a pass from Taylor
35:08Disappointing because
35:10both Boateng and Devlin were in good positions
35:12That was a genuine opening
35:14There was a real gap there to exploit
35:16Just a poor pass from Taylor
35:24There's Kopitz
35:26Knocks it on for Cherve
35:32Aveline inside to his captain
35:34Karplak
35:36Cherve skipped his position out wide
35:38Knocked by Rowles
35:40Just after the half hour
35:42The game still in the balance
35:50Cross comes Dewey again
35:52to hurl this one into the box by the looks of it
36:04Met by Penrice
36:07Met by Penrice
36:17Cherve's on clear
36:24A shot there from Vacheline
36:26Not penalised
36:28Well Cairo really shouldn't have been
36:30letting that ball bounce
36:36However,
36:38Aveline
36:40Yes,
36:42perhaps typified Hart's
36:44start to the season
36:46He's looked uncertain at times
37:00Boys flick on
37:02but dealt with by Havel
37:04the ball, shows too much of it that time to Varshilin, but then recovers and moves
37:08away from the big striker. Needs a bit of support though, didn't really have
37:13anything did he. Managed to nick it away from Varshilin and then just looking for
37:20somebody to bounce it off or link up with, but there wasn't really any support.
37:26It's out for the shy and now he's got the ball in his hands and again the
37:32propellant in the box.
37:42Toria Poulsen looking to spring the counter.
37:52Well, I've got to say, Sojka, he wasn't giving a particularly great ball there, I think
37:58it's Kopisch that slides it to him and then he stops his run as well. That was a
38:05really good opportunity there for Victoria Poulsen.
38:14I think we wondered last week whether they had another couple of gears, another
38:18couple of levels they could go up. Again, looking at those, the stats that they've
38:23put together over the last season or two, but again this evening, you know, they
38:29haven't been any better than they were last week. Absolutely, I couldn't agree
38:33more. I just feel like a level of frustration. Hearts are playing a lot of
38:38long balls, wanting them to try and build this game. Does this side are there for
38:43the taking, but it just doesn't look like Hearts have a clear game plan of how to
38:48go and hurt them.
38:54Rouse, closed down by Vasiljn, but he's literally not got a pass. The whole
38:58midfield are just emptying the midfield and running up the park.
39:03Boyce, for Vargas.
39:11That's better. Quick, get the ball forward. Got to play with a purpose. Shelly was
39:18talking about that before the game, she's absolutely spot-on. You've got to be
39:21playing with a purpose. You've got to have an idea of where you're trying to get the
39:25ball to and doing it at pace.
39:28Boyce, little drop of the shoulder. Good ball in. Vargas turns one way, then the other. Taylor.
39:36Kadu sticks a foot in.
39:52Ten to play in this first period. Hearts strike a blow before halftime.
40:00I think the prize is on offer here.
40:04Boateng goes up with the goalkeeper, who hasn't got there. Hearts snaffle, it goes, Vargas!
40:11Just over.
40:15Best chance of the game.
40:17Well, you've got to say that Jordan does not cover himself in glory here at all.
40:23It's bouncing around. It's not the easiest of chances for Vargas. You've got to say there's loads of bodies in front of him.
40:31But, if he can try and keep it down, you never know, it might be deflecting off one of them and he just gets under it too much.
40:38But, I was just saying, the prize that's on offer is immense for Hearts here.
40:44Dwyane manages to get that back to Tourdon at the second time I'm asking.
40:50And this is a game that really, it's not what you think of a couple of seasons ago in the Conference League,
40:57when they're coming up against the likes of Fiorentina, Istanbul, BasakĹźehir.
41:03These were real top quality sides. Very difficult to envisage how you would beat them,
41:11with so many injuries to the Hearts side as well.
41:13But, you're looking at this team here tonight and you're saying,
41:17this, it really is, it's there for Hearts.
41:22Schulz perhaps went the wrong way there. He had managed to slip that to Cherv, I think it was, to his left.
41:28He's given away though.
41:34I'm talking about Hearts trying to build the game and the midfield just seem like they're emptying and they're running forward.
41:39This is running beyond Vargas or Boyce.
41:48But to do that, you need to actually get a few passes in to build the game.
41:53There's no point in thumping it 50 yards further back the field.
41:58See here again, there's no midfield in Hearts. Boateng's outnumbered.
42:02They're picking up so many second balls.
42:09Well, a big weekend as always. Sports team results, three games in the top flight on Saturday,
42:24four o'clock on BBC One Scotland.
42:26And a couple of highlight shows as always, Saturday and Sunday,
42:30quarter past seven on the BBC Scotland channel with the small matter of Celtic Rangers on the Sunday.
42:37Hearts also in action here against Dundee United.
42:48Deep play from Grant.
42:54Vargas couldn't quite get a touch to take it past Dewey, but George Grant started the game well.
43:07A bit of space here for Kingsley.
43:11Always wants to get it back onto that left foot.
43:15Yeah, well, that says it all, doesn't it? Very ambitious.
43:28You can't even bring yourself to say anything about that, can you?
43:33Missed the target.
43:35It wasn't actually the worst bit of play, because as much as there's an imbalance on the side there,
43:41cutting in on his left foot, onto his stronger foot,
43:45the opportunity had opened up, I thought he might have clipped one at the back post.
43:49But not bad play from Kingsley, just didn't execute it particularly well.
43:54Kingsley's been penalised for that challenge there,
43:57it looked like he just cleanly won the header.
44:01Certainly did in real time, yeah.
44:05Yeah, I mean, look, his arm catches Vacheline at the back slightly.
44:12I think that's just all you need to do nowadays, is fall down and touch your head and you get a free kick.
44:19Didn't look like anything other than he's jumped up and won the ball.
44:27Kervlak looking for Vacheline, who's recovered to knock that in.
44:31It's as dangerous as Dewayne Fierce at goal words.
44:34Blocked, and Boyce knocks it clear.
44:39Now Harts on the counter.
44:41Led by Taylor.
44:44Vargas helping it on, Boyce.
44:46Devon lets it run, wouldn't quite run though for Vargas.
44:51Almost, but not quite for Harts there.
44:54There was a big scare at the other end as well.
44:57Yeah, there was a lot of what felt like just wee ricochets and
45:04deflections that looked like potentially were going to fall Harts way into the box,
45:09but Yemelka at the end just managed to get the block.
45:27Taylor, again, too close to the keeper.
45:36Samson Dewayne, I think still in dismay at the fact that his goal down as it appeared shot was blocked.
45:44Yeah, he caught it well.
45:47He really did.
45:51Vacheline.
45:53Vacheline seemed to be using his arm there in the challenge.
45:57That one's not penalised.
45:59That was alright, because he just hit Kingsley in the chest apparently.
46:05Nods that one down to Shields, and now it's back with Vacheline.
46:08Opportunity here as Kingsley makes a really good block.
46:13Kadu, that's almost dangerous off the head of Boateng,
46:17but they've got him alive.
46:19Well, first of all, it was a really good block from Kingsley,
46:22because it just looked like Vacheline was getting into a gap in the back line.
46:28Kingsley gets across and makes a brilliant block.
46:33And then Craig Gordon with a
46:38comfortable catch from the cross from Kadu.
46:42Bradley, a quick switch, knew that Kingsley was in space.
46:49Taylor, running into trouble, needs to get rid of that ball earlier.
46:55Kavlak, likewise though, can't get past a couple of half-backs,
46:59but he's got the ball.
47:02And it's in.
47:04It's in.
47:06It's in.
47:08It's in.
47:10Likewise though, can't get past a couple of half-backs,
47:13now Grant is fouled.
47:22He's been heavily involved, George Grant,
47:24and he was involved here.
47:27Victoria Polson threatened the opener, Michael.
47:31Well, fortunately Grant's in position there,
47:35but also when you saw it there from the high behind,
47:38it looked as if it was probably just angling towards Craig Gordon.
47:47Now, if Hearts could just get a goal before half-time,
47:50it really might change the mood around Tyne Castle,
47:54which is still relatively positive, but it would really give them a lift.
47:59There's Kingsley winning the header, Dwayne gets it clear,
48:03only as far as Penrice, good feet,
48:05Shultz blocked, out comes the keeper.
48:07Decent punch.
48:09Kent trying to keep it alive.
48:13Good play from Devlin.
48:20Grant almost sold short there, and he himself plays a poor pass.
48:27Rose gets it forward and Kingsley gives it away to Cher.
48:31Brushes him aside, and then flicks it on for Shultz.
48:35Good first touch from Shultz.
48:38And Vasilijman, an opportunity here!
48:40Brilliant challenge.
48:44Taylor with a vital, vital block.
48:51I think it's Kingsley, is it not?
48:53That's it, maybe I'll be wrong.
48:55Yeah, I am.
48:56You're absolutely spot-on, it's Taylor at the back post here.
48:59But I've got to say, Vasilijman's got to be doing better.
49:02He's so slow to sort his feet out.
49:05Yeah, absolutely.
49:06Taylor with a massive block.
49:10The deflection off of Frankie Kent just landed it for Vasilijman's.
49:17And he's got it.
49:18Frankie Kent just landed it for Vasilijman's.
49:22Booting perfectly.
49:24In comes the corner!
49:25That's so close.
49:30That man again.
49:32Vasilijman, towering presence in the penalty area.
49:37That's a really good whipped-in ball.
49:42Good opportunity for the big strike-up.
49:44Two in a quick succession there.
49:48Thankfully for Hartz, it doesn't go in the back of the net
49:50because if that goes in right before half-time,
49:52it's a real body block.
49:55As it is, we're still 0-0 and the game is very much in the balance.
50:02A minute added on at the end of this first period,
50:05but just in the last few minutes,
50:07Victoria Pilsen have really been threatening that Hartz goal.
50:11Vasilijman himself with a hatchet of chances.
50:18Hartz carve out one more of their own just before the interval.
50:24Of course, we'll come to Taylor to throw this one in.
50:26What an important block that was just a moment ago
50:30to deny Vasilijman.
50:34There's a different ball.
50:36Dewey gets his head to help Dewey.
50:48Well, that's that for a first period
50:52which has been unable to further separate the sides
50:55or bring them closer together.
50:58We'll come back to that in a moment.
51:00...which has been unable to further separate the sides
51:03or bring them closer together.
51:05Vargas had a couple of good opportunities,
51:07a header that was well wide
51:09and then fired over before Victoria Pilsen
51:12just began to threaten towards the end of that first period.
51:16A Dewey effort blocked by Grant before that man.
51:19Daniel Vasilijman had three opportunities,
51:22one blocked by Kingsley,
51:23then another one superbly diverted off target by Taylor
51:27and then a header glancing just wide
51:30on the stroke of half-time.
51:32And so, it's all to play for in the second half
51:36as it remains Hartleman Lothian 0,
51:38Victoria Pilsen 0, 1-0 to the Czechs on aggregate.
