00:00Okay, good afternoon everyone and welcome to St. George's Park for this media conference with Lee Carsley.
00:11Looking at the squad that we picked today, I've worked with the majority of them, whether that be when I was assisting
00:17the 21s before,
00:19or work with them currently, so I think it was important to not only with the players
00:24but get staff around me as well to understand how I work and how I
00:29want to see a camp run.
00:35The fact that Karl hasn't played this season would suggest that City are potentially
00:43phasing him in gently. We have to respect that.
00:45I think it's important that players that are coming in are ready to play and are up to speed.
00:50I couldn't tell you what the start in the XI is now. I've got an idea to be fair, yeah, I've got an idea.
00:56I think what generally happens when a new coach comes in is that people that were maybe on the outside, players that were maybe on the outside
01:04will see this is a fresh start for them. The big thing for me is training, how they train.
01:09I think I'm really, really fortunate with the pool of players we've got to pick from. We've got some really exciting attacking players.
01:16We want to be seen as an attacking team, but from the Summers' point of view, we went through the whole tournament and didn't concede a goal,
01:22which was testament to the defenders as well and the way that they defended their own box.
01:26So playing to the players' strengths, I think it's important for us to be seen as an attacking team,
01:30and I think that's what we've got to do.
01:39I think Trent would be a big part of the philosophy.
01:48For me, for this camp especially, he'll be a right back. He'll be playing in defence.
01:53I think Trent, like a lot of the players, especially modern-day full-backs, have got all-round attributes that almost turn them into midfielders.
02:02They're very comfortable in possession and playing forwards and receiving the ball.
02:06At some point, I would imagine we'll see Trent arriving into that kind of area, but I'll see him as a right back.
